"The water pressure in the toilet is not enough, only hot water
Just this little shortcoming
The facilities and environment are very good, totally worth the money
There is billiards downstairs to play, 1 pound per game
Staff are very friendly"
"Lovely big rooms, however can get cold due to this. However could have been a fault of our own as we didn’t alter the thermostat. Bathroom was nice but if you have the option don’t choose a bath in the room and the shower is not the best. I have stayed here previously in a shower room and they are superior. We missed out on the spa if you want to go you now have to pre book which we weren’t informed about potentially Trip.com’s fault and not the hotel."
"Another great stay in a very quirky hotel. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay at the Arthouse and will definitely be back soon."

"Absolutely great, lovely clean room .lovely breakfast staff in reception and lounge room were we had breakfast were amazing . Would definitely recommend it stay because we went to a wedding in punch yarmies and not far to go ."
"Reception staff very welcoming and helpful. Nothing too much bother for anyone. Our room fridge didn't work and we were offered to keep any items in the general fridge in Reception. Lovely hotel and quiet. Could hear some train noise which is to be expected located next door to Lime Street. Ideal location to explore Liverpool and Luggage Service was a bonus. Would stay here again."
"The hotel’s location is great - near the Lime Street station and in shopping and eating places. Friendly and helpful staff. But the room is a bit old and rundown. The toilet flushing system should be improved. No fridge is provided in the room."
"The reviews can be quite negative from some people, and I do agree that the rooms could do with a freshen up, BUT it's an old hotel filled with character and history and we really enjoyed it for that. It's very central and 6 mins walk to Lime St Station and 7 min to Cavern Quarter. (The Vines pub next door is also a must & 15 min in opposite direction takes you up the Philharmonic pub, beautiful place with history and an award winning steak pie.). The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and really lovely. There are a couple of nice bars as you come into the reception area , including the American bar, which has a nice ship saloon feel. Got a great deal and stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. Would come back, the rooms do need a face lift though. 😀"
"It's similar to the low-end express hotels in the country. The lobby and the bar are shared one room. The bathroom should be remodeled. The dry and wet are not separated. The double bed in the double room is also more compact. The advantage is that the location is central, not far from Lime Street Railway Station, the seaside, and Liverpool One. But Liverpool is also a little bit bigger."
"The spa was nice, but the bed had bed bugs, and I got bitten. The shower didn’t have a handheld option, and the water pressure was poor.
I checked in at 11 AM, which was fine, but when we returned at 9 PM, I mentioned to the reception that we needed the beds split, but that never happened. The manager came over and started complaining. I reminded him that our request had been confirmed in the morning. He was a bit temperamental at first, but it calmed down when I asked for an extra duvet."

Great
GGuest UserPerfect, had a lovely stay here. Great location for where I needed to be , the staff were very helpful and friendly.the room was big and spacious, spotlessly clean. There was room service if needed.
Food in the restaurant was amazing great choice of drinks at the bar and a lovely court yard to sit out in.
Highly recommend a stay here.
TTakhisis4twMy favourite place to stay in Liverpool, and probably the whole of the UK. The spa is amazing and is true to the advertised pictures, in fact it's even better because they don't show off everything there! The rooms are spotless and so lovely, the staff are all super friendly and polite and cannot do enough to help. Treat yourself to an amazing high class experience for reasonable prices. The thermal journey is an absolute must.

CCharlesI personally found the hotel exactly as described on it's website! I shared one of their deluxe twin rooms with a friend and it was way bigger and more comfortable than most I've stayed in! No complaints whatsover! All the Beatles pics and memorabilia was exactly as stated and was a great supplement to a great hotel in my opinion as a big Beatles fan! The fact that it's so close to the Cavern Club, and therfore is situated right at the heart of Liverpools ”Musical” centre, and ”elelectic” atmospheric nightlife, was exactly what I was looking for! But round the corner, back into the hotel and it was back to a quiet, chilled atmosphere! Best of both worlds! Live music in a cool bar at weekend nights, delicious buffet breakfast, pretty much with everything you would want! Can't complain one single bit! That was my experience honestly! Quick, simple checking and check out! Cannot understand the negative reviews I read before I booked, which admittedly nearly put me off booking! All I can say say is, either those negative reviews were unusual or by very fussy people, or exceptional in the extreme! 10 out of 10! Keep it up all you staff in the hotel! You are the one's who make it work so well! Chic Canning, Motherwell, near Glasgow !

RRosaGreat location in the heart of the city. Was given a huge family room instead of a standard room. Happy with the service and overall experience. Extractor fan in the bathroom can't be turned off so the noise could be an issue. If cleaned would be less noisy!

GGuest UserVisit to watch the famous Accrington Stanley play Liverpool in the fa cup , hotel really easy to find, nice room bar and restaurant masons , found parking nearby 5 min walk (under £16 for 24 hours) B parking. Only downside was this hotel is in the thick of it for late night clubs and outside so called garden bars , so it was pretty noisy in the room , it didn’t really bother us cause we both can sleep through fireworks. But if you’re a light sleeper and need to be in bed early take some ear defenders .

NNeerodGreat location, friendly staff all around the hotel, room clean & bed comfy. Breakfast was plentiful & enough seating even at busy times. Please make the carpark cheaper for motorbikes as they are using less space, but we were great full that it was safe. Totally recommend & would use again. Thanks 😊

KKennedy83Firstly the bad points-
*The Carpark was full of old furniture from the hotel and empty beer barrier preventing you getting parked,
*The hotel has turned into more of a party venue hotel rather than the beautiful hotel it was when I last came with my daughter 2018.
*tap in the kitchen area in our room only let out hot water and unfortunately the room stunk of what I could only describe as a sewerage smell? Whether the drains needed maintenance I’m not sure but I I just sprayed some deodorant around to help make it not smell quite as bad because I was so tired I didnt want to have to swap rooms.
*There was also no phone to call reception which I found strange and the remote for the tv was missing the back of it.
I put all this bad points down to the fact that when I previously came it was owned by someone who really cared about the maintenance and reputation of the hotel but now I’ve found it’s since been sold it seems the new owner isn’t as bothered and all what the shankley represented before eg, maintenance, luxury, football themed has kind of turned more into a tacky themed hotel and doesn’t feel classy anymore. I’d probably not stay here again as it’s not the same as it was and just the whole feel of hand hotel is different. It’s not the best if you have come with kids as there’s lots of drunken guests in the hotel and it’s noisey but thank goodness it’s a large hotel as you don’t hear the noise from downstairs. We were on level 3.
Our room was lovely and big with a large double bed and 2 twins pushed together, a kitchen area with tea bags and coffee (no biscuits but that didn’t bother us as we had snacks with us
The upsides were-
*Staff were pleasant,
*breakfast was amazing with everything you could possibly as for,
*hotel was mainly quiet on the 3rd floor, room was on the whole clean and had a hair dryer, iron and ironing board with a safe.
* . The bathroom was lovely especially the bath as it was a jacuzzi with a waterfall shower. Everything was clean from what I could see.

JJay-PeeMy Two-Night Stay at Phoenix Hotel Liverpool: Central City Experience
Just wrapped up a fantastic two-night stay at Phoenix Hotel Liverpool and wanted to share my thoughts! At £126.90 plus a small £4.80 property fee, it offered excellent value for a city center experience.
The location at 46-48 Foley Street puts you right in the heart of Liverpool, which was perfect for my mini-break. Being centrally located meant I could easily walk to major attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas without relying on transportation. The vibrant city atmosphere was right on my doorstep!
I stayed from **Thursday, August 7 to Saturday, August 9, 2025** — a perfect two-night city escape. Check-in after 3 PM was smooth and welcoming, and the 11 AM check-out time was standard and convenient. The staff were helpful and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived.
The hotel itself (which I could see in the booking thumbnail) had a classic Liverpool charm about it. My room was clean, comfortable, and had all the essentials I needed for a pleasant stay. While not ultra-luxurious, it was well-maintained and provided a cozy base for exploring the city.
What I appreciated was the **transparent pricing** — I knew exactly what I was paying upfront (£126.90) and what I'd need to pay at the property (just £4.80). The Trip.com booking process was straightforward, and having their price match and stay guarantee gave me extra confidence in my booking.
The app's ”Message Property” and ”Call Property” features came in handy when I needed some local recommendations. The ”Manage Booking” function made it easy to keep all my travel details organized in one place.
Is it a five-star luxury hotel? No, but it doesn't claim to be. Phoenix Hotel Liverpool delivers exactly what it promises: a comfortable, well-located place to stay at a reasonable price point that lets you experience the best of Liverpool without breaking the bank.
**Would I recommend it?** Absolutely! If you're looking for a centrally located hotel in Liverpool with good amenities and friendly service, this place ticks all the boxes. Perfect for weekend city breaks, concert-goers, or anyone wanting to soak up Liverpool's vibrant atmosphere.
LLeeExcellent apartment, clean and everything we could need. Stayed here with my son for a dad and lad city break. Location is perfect. Very close to the centre. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to others.
