"Lovely big rooms, however can get cold due to this. However could have been a fault of our own as we didn’t alter the thermostat. Bathroom was nice but if you have the option don’t choose a bath in the room and the shower is not the best. I have stayed here previously in a shower room and they are superior. We missed out on the spa if you want to go you now have to pre book which we weren’t informed about potentially Trip.com’s fault and not the hotel."

"Reception staff very welcoming and helpful. Nothing too much bother for anyone. Our room fridge didn't work and we were offered to keep any items in the general fridge in Reception. Lovely hotel and quiet. Could hear some train noise which is to be expected located next door to Lime Street. Ideal location to explore Liverpool and Luggage Service was a bonus. Would stay here again."

"The hotel’s location is great - near the Lime Street station and in shopping and eating places. Friendly and helpful staff. But the room is a bit old and rundown. The toilet flushing system should be improved. No fridge is provided in the room."

"The reviews can be quite negative from some people, and I do agree that the rooms could do with a freshen up, BUT it's an old hotel filled with character and history and we really enjoyed it for that. It's very central and 6 mins walk to Lime St Station and 7 min to Cavern Quarter. (The Vines pub next door is also a must & 15 min in opposite direction takes you up the Philharmonic pub, beautiful place with history and an award winning steak pie.). The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and really lovely. There are a couple of nice bars as you come into the reception area , including the American bar, which has a nice ship saloon feel. Got a great deal and stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely stay. Would come back, the rooms do need a face lift though. 😀"

"It's similar to the low-end express hotels in the country. The lobby and the bar are shared one room. The bathroom should be remodeled. The dry and wet are not separated. The double bed in the double room is also more compact. The advantage is that the location is central, not far from Lime Street Railway Station, the seaside, and Liverpool One. But Liverpool is also a little bit bigger."

"Not bad, however the workers are rude and disregarded. Location is near city centre, however it's an ascent road going up."

"The spa was nice, but the bed had bed bugs, and I got bitten. The shower didn’t have a handheld option, and the water pressure was poor. I checked in at 11 AM, which was fine, but when we returned at 9 PM, I mentioned to the reception that we needed the beds split, but that never happened. The manager came over and started complaining. I reminded him that our request had been confirmed in the morning. He was a bit temperamental at first, but it calmed down when I asked for an extra duvet."
