Avenida da Liberdade
To visit Lisbon, Portugal, strolling on Liberty Avenue, shopping and eating, is a must-have task. Liberty Avenue, which runs through the north and south central axis of Lisbon, was built in 1879-1886 years,1.2 kilometers long, 90 meters wide, and has the reputation of "Lisbon's Champs-Elysees". Walking the avenue, 5-10 the traffic lanes are varied and orderly; the street garden + pedestrian lanes wide than the traffic lanes, the rows of large trees shade the sun, the black and white brick floor of Portuguese characteristics are full of charm; the different buildings facing the street are competing with each other, and the luxury shops of the big brands are in scale; It is a spacious and lively square, but it is an alley at the intersection; the towering sculpture is telling the history, and the comfortable tourists are enjoying today.
Belém Tower
TtravelwithamelieLocated outside Lisbon, we need to take train to go here. There are two types of train, cheap one without seat number and a more expensive one. I took the cheap one and there were lots of people both tourists and locals. Belem Tower area is free for public (unless you want to go inside the tower) and has park and trees to rest. Some food and drink stalls are also there.
Alfama
The oldest Catholic church in Lisbon is located halfway up a hill in the old town of Alfama. Behind it is the site of a Roman theater, which is being excavated and repaired. It was well preserved even after the Lisbon earthquake! The stained glass in the church is beautiful!
Jerónimos Monastery
AAnonymous UserThe magnificent buildings are all carved in stone, very beautiful and worth seeing. We caught up with the rain, but there were still many visitors. There are also monuments, sailboats on the seaside, Belem Tower, green lawns... It's a good walk
Santa Justa Lift
Cchinadesk1The Santa Justa Elevator in Lisbon is a vertical elevator, 45 meters high, decorated in neo-Gothic style. Visitors can overlook the city streets from it, making it a tourist attraction. When we went there, it was under maintenance and not open, but the elevator itself is also a scenic spot. There are several other elevators in Lisbon.
São Jorge Castle
NNickolas Ccastle with breathtaking views of Lisbon. My favorite site in all of Lisbon as it takes you to a high elevation point where you have the views. The castle also has lots of history.
Monument to the Discoveries
Mmushroom055The entrance ticket allows you to take the lift to the top floor. From there you still have to climb a few flights of stairs to reach the observation deck. The view is nice but it's not the only place in Lisbon where you can get nice views over the Tagus estuary. The museum at the basement is worth a visit if you're interested in how the landscape in Lisbon changed over the years.
Eduardo VII Park
DDarDar BinxWhat a beautiful park to enjoy a great day at. Something for everyone, from the walking paths, huge playground for children, sports and exercise areas to the amazing botanical gardens built in the old quarry. Full of statues, birds and wonderful views. Definitely a great place to explore or just relax on the grass and enjoy the sunshine.
Bairro Alto
Cchinadesk1The old town of Lisbon is full of orange-red roofs. You must take a ride on the distinctive yellow tram that runs along the winding roads. Standing on a high point, overlooking the city and the water, Lisbon looks particularly beautiful and is suitable for taking photos. The small cafes and shops on the hill make tourists linger, and they find the ancient and fashionable feeling of Lisbon.
