Just home from a 2 day trip to Limerick with my 7 year old and 11 year old. Booked The George Hotel on booking.com I emailed the hotel well in advance asking for a room in a quieter area of the hotel as I had children with me and was aware that the hotel was in the city they said they would try to accommodate my request. Well I can tell you they definitely did not accommodate my request we were on the 3rd floor and below us on the ground floor was a bar that had loud music and noise from people in and out smoking it was so hard to sleep. The staff in the restaurant came across very rude and unfriendly they could definitely do with being educated on customer service. Coming from a tourist town myself i feel it's so important to make people feel welcome and wanted when visiting our town well I can honestly say I did not feel welcomed or wanted in the George hotel and I will definitely not be going back even my 7 year old child asked why the staff we so moody what a very disappointing trip it was .

Wir wurden in dieses Hotel umgebucht. Dies war ein Glücksfall. Sehr schönes Hotel, komfortable Betten, sehr zentral gelegen, direkt am Fluss. Frühstück war auch ok. Ermäßigtes parken, für ein paar Tage sehr empfehlenswert. Personal freundlich.

It was almost midnight when we arrived in Limerick in search of a hotel for the night. On booking.com we managed to secure a room at the Savoy. We were greeted by Tony on arrival. Due to it being a Friday night, they were not expecting a new booking. He referred to the night manager, Alli who was incredibly gracious and helpful. He managed to allocate a room for us, assisted with parking and luggage, advised us on activities for the next day and even offered us the use of the executive lounge when he realised we were quite exhausted from travelling. We didn’t make use of the lounge because we just wanted to get to bed but the gesture in itself was really welcoming. We would have loved to stay longer.

Stayed over the Christmas break, so rates were very high. This did influence my review as I expected more for the associated costs. Pros: Family run hotel, friendly and professional When we identified problems, they were resolved quickly - there were a few Really nice breakfast, efficient and helpful service Lovely breakfast area Popular with locals, which is always a great sign. Cons: Bedrooms are very small Bathrooms are tiny, expected more space for a hotel on city outskirts Leisure centre requires a much needed upgrade. All lockers broken, shower area badly needs to be regrouted and new tiles. Didn't want to use the showers as they didn't seem clean. The pool area is clean, but again, all the cracked tiles need to be changed.

This hotel was very nice. Comfortable and clean. Breakfast was not great. No selection of fruit or variety. Dinner was okay, as we were in a group and it was a selection of chicken, fish or vegetarian. Great location on the river with a lounge balcony walkway that replicates a cruise ship. A lovely area to sit and have a drink. Modern vibe to hotel.
