Marriott Lexington Griffin Gate Golf Resort & Spa

Do not stay here. We stayed for one night following a wedding at a nearby venue. I wish we would have just made the late night hour plus drive home. This venue rents out the back area and allows loudspeakers to play until 2am despite Lexington having a noise ordinance in effect after 11pm. It felt like the speakers were in our room. They do not care about paying guests or the law apparently. The front desk offered zero help outside of “the sales team booked it”. You will get zero rest here. I always stay with Hilton and this was a fantastic reminder why. Marriott doesn’t even pretend to offer customer service.

Chose this hotel because of its amenities like restaurant onsite, outdoor pool and valet. There are some upscale elements to this hotel however some improvements needed as well. What is great: comfortable bed and pillows, bright bathroom lighting, larger tv. Plenty to do if not raining: outdoor pool, pickleball courts, firepit tables, hot tub. Since we had rainy weather, we spent our off time in the restaurant. Delicious food especially the ribeye, and the brie and dates appetizer. Plenty of bourbon choices. Excellent service at restaurant by hostesses, and at lunch and also breakfast service by Mindy P. Excellent valet: Owen and James. Improvements needed : sink faucet pressure in room very weak, no bathroom fan, a/c in room didnt go below 68, a/c not working in restaurant so a/c condenser units running which caused lights to blink often, would recommend a busboy or better service at dinner by a few servers. We saw a foodrunner out a lot but server didnt come over very often and he never cleared our cocktail glasses and dishes on his visits.

All the staff were very polite. But they’re working with a decaying property with inattentive management and basically no customer service. Was downgraded to a room in such bad shape that the front desk spent 10 minutes at check in trying to find a different room before explaining nothing else was available. (The room, located over a loading bay and enormous HVAC fans, had a gouge in the bathroom door, fixtures starting to come off the walls, broken curtains, etc.) I get that a downgrade can happen for whatever reason. They assured me the bill would reflect the room. Checked with the front desk the next day to confirm and was again assured it would be handled. But when I checked out, was billed at the full rate and told only a manager could resolve the issue. Given contact info for a manager who was going to deal with it when they got in later that day. Spent about a week trying to contact various managers to correct the hotel’s error. In all have reached out to three different managers I was told at various times could help. But every time I reach out, am either ignored or told “she’s actually out this week.” Apparently the hotel just gives people the runaround. Unfortunately had to go through my bank to resolve the issue.

Mindy P and the dining room servers were exceptional. Their cheerfulness and generosity made for the best dining experience that far exceeded other restaurants we visited during our stay. They are outstanding ambassadors of your busy hotel and give us cause to return to you the next vacation we enjoy in Lexington.

Very unhappy with our stay. We stayed July 1. The next morning I took a shower. I was all soaped up when the water stopped. No water! I was covered in soap. The water outage lasted half an hour. I complained when we checked out and was told the manager would call me. She didn’t. I called when I got back home and was told the manager was on another line and would call me soon. Never called. I called Marriott Corporate and was told my room rate would be refunded. It wasn’t. I called back and they offered me Marriott Points! I don’t want points, I want the refund I was promised Management doesn’t care. Don’t stay there

The resort was great and our room was beautiful! We played 18 at the golf course and relaxed by the pool on our short trip to Lexington and had a great time. The employees were so nice and accommodating! Oh and The towels were so soft!!! We hope to be back soon

outstanding resort, was a problem with being hot at night but management is aware of the issue and are taking steps to get it fixed, golf, pickleball courts and an outstanding pool that served good food and drinks. plenty to do in a safe and secluded part of town, yet only a 10 min drive downtown to many outstanding restaurants. grounds are well kept and the staff we encountered were always willing to help, special shout out to the desk manager who put the Churchill downs races on the big screen outside, made for an enjoyable day. we definitely plan on returning.

It was an extremely hot week the hotel's lobby was extremely hot 81° to be exact all the hallways elevators were all 81 or 83°. The air conditioning in our room was so loud and noisy you couldn't sleep at night no ice on all seven floors no ice anywhere in the hotel you couldn't even drink a soda pop nothing if you wanted if you unless you wanted to drink it hot there was no ice at all in the hotel very uncomfortable
