Another lovely stay at the Crowne Plaza in Leeds. Always a warm welcome, rooms are well serviced and comfortable, and being on the edge of town, the location is much quieter but only a ten minute walk into the city centre and railway station. Staff are always cheerful and happy to help, check-in and check-out is always efficient and swift. Excellent on site car park. Breakfast is always a delight and the cooked to order omelettes are amazing! Tina and Gigi (and all of the other restaurant staff) go out of their way to make sure you have everything needed for a good start to the day. Overall, just a lovely hotel with lovely staff. I decided as a treat for my nieces birthday and for her finishing her exams we would book a night away in the hilton for a relaxing/pamper night. The staff are lovely, we had a very friendly and welcoming checking in experience and they even offered us a free breakfast when I mentioned it was my nieces birthday. The room was ok, quite small and parts tired/worn down. We then headed out into the town for some food, as soon as we opened the room door we could hear the music. It was clearly a stag or something, men walking about with tops off, shouting and with music blaring. We waited for the lift as more and more people got out of the lift to join the party that was the 7th floor. The lift then opened to another group of men who then said something sexually suggestive and highly inappropriate to my 16 year old niece. I didn’t have time to approach them as the lift doors closed. We then was greeted by another intoxicated male in the lift who offered me his half drunken pint and said ‘come on get with it.’ I then decided to go to reception to complain. The staff were really helpful and tried very hard, we were told we could move rooms but by now the damage had been done - my niece suffers from anxiety and at this point she wanted to check out and go home. We tried to make the most of it and went out for food, when we arrived back we asked to be moved rooms which we did. We were on the top floor and this room was a little bigger but still parts that were very worn down (the bathroom door looked like a wolf had been scratching at it). We didn’t sleep, the air con didn’t work and it was absolutely boiling. The window only opened a crack and we had the noise outside coming through until the early hours. Every time we nodded off a door In the hallway would slam and wake is up - we almost checked out at 3am. All in all, a poor experience which was made slightly better by the staff who clearly wanted to help us. Not sure why a high class hotel such as the Hilton would accept stag/group bookings. We wanted to go swimming and explore the facilities more but the experience and the hotel clientele put us off (we didn’t feel comfortable). Not what I paid £165 for the night for, extremely frustrated and disappointed.

Got a Groupon deal at only £79 for a double en-suite with breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco. The reception staff were very helpful and even got a free upgrade with a nicer room including soft drinks and 2 Kit Kats with great views overlooking the canal and late check out too. We parked nearby at Leeds dock about 10 minutes walk away as we have done before at a reduced rate of £8 for 24 hours. Nice modern hotel in a great location with free quick wifi and close to Leeds city centre with a couple of bars on the doorstep.

The hotel is located on a motorway services which is handy as it has a food court next door with lots of different food options. It is just under 4 miles from the centre of Leeds; about 10-15 minutes by car. The look of the hotel is modern with a nice feel to it. They have a restaurant on site (which we didn't eat in) and an essentials/snack stand which is good for any forgotten bits or late night snacks. The hotel isn't very big with just 1 floor of rooms and this is accessible by lift or stairs. The room we had was a standard room and, for 1 night, it was perfect for us! There was everything you could need including a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, a safe and extra pillows. The bathroom also had hand-wash and body wash. Nice view over the rear garden/children's play area with fantastic blackout curtains! Decent TV with free view channels. Tea and coffee making facilities and loads of plug sockets including some next to the beds ...win win!! A little more attention to detail regarding cleaning as there was a fair amount of dust on the top of the mirror and some marks next to the sink in the bathroom. A great little addition would be restaurant/bar food and drink options and times in the room to look over when you arrive!

GGuest UserMy husband and I stayed as part of a conference with over 300 people in attendance. We had a very large room which was obviously set up for 4. Two very large king sized beds pushed together meant that whilst we could have a bed each if we wished to sleep as usual my husband had to climb into bed from the bottom! We stayed Friday through to Sunday afternoon and ate in the restaurant friday night. It was relatively busy but we had a lovely meal, the cocktails were lovely and the staff attentive and we happily paid the service charge and a tip on a bill over £70. As a result of our experience on the Friday night we attended the restaurant again Saturday night. It was awful, we had to find a member of staff to take our order, a member of staff to order our dessert, and we had to find a member of staff to pay the bill - we nearly left without paying the wait was so long! When we did get the bill a service charge had been added - we refused to pay this element as we had been given no service! On Sunday afternoon as the conference ( which was in the hotel ballroom) finished at 2pm and we did not need to be at the airport until after 6pm we thought we would see if we could get something to eat in the restaurant. Disappointingly a vegetarian colleague could not get the simple cheese and tomato sandwich he wanted as the only food the chefs were willing ( or able?) To prepare was what was on the menu ! We left and ate elsewhere so he could be accommodated. The hotel is very disabled friendly with access to all bar one room without the need to use lifts ( although we are now intimately acquainted with the service lift!) The staff in the hotel were all friendly and approachable. ( Even when refusing service!)
GGuest UserGreat location in the Moto services on a roundabout that leads to York, Wetherby and the A1M. Really convenient for going out. Loads of parking, although would be better if there was a dedicated area for hotel guests as the bit nearest the hotel seems to be where everyone wants to park, particularly vans. Basic budget hotel with tea and coffee facilities in the room, a TV and a shower room. Would have said it was clean until I found a babies dummy under the bed on the last morning of our 3-night stay. Odd numbered rooms face the car park. On the ground floor rooms from 021 to 037 overlook the grass between hotel and car park where people stand to smoke and everyone takes their dog to do its business. Got a bit annoying when people stood almost against our window even when it was open. Closed window pretty good at keeping out the noise day and night. Additional door in the corridor just before room 021 also cut down on the early morning shouting of people leaving their rooms. Room surprisingly quiet. Did have one issue but it was sorted out pretty swiftly by management with no argument, so can't fault them on service. Breakfast is available for £7 but not much variety. Some cereals, yogurt, fruit, cheese and bread/cakes. Greggs next door much cheaper.
GGuest UserStay here a lot and consistently good. Lovely rooms and very clean, especially bathrooms. Great water pressure too! Comfy beds and good selection of channels on tv.
Good selection at breakfast and friendly attentive staff throughout.
Only minor grumble was the lifts on this stay. Took ages for them to arrive and always very busy because of this. It was a Saturday though.
GGuest UserI want to say how wonderful my stay was at Holiday Inn. The room was fabulous. Amazing facilities. A shout out to Anthony one of the night staff who had such a welcoming smile at all hours and down to earth attitude. Also to Hannah who was so helpful regarding transport services both should be extremely proud of themselves. Thank you so much
GGuest UserRecently stay here. And with it being a Britannia my expectations weren’t high. But I’ve got to say what a great experience. James the manager went above and beyond to make our stay an enjoyable one. I went to tell him myself the next day. However when I asked a member of staff where he was she said he was unavailable as he was at their sister hotel which he also runs. What a hero!
GGuest UserHave stayed here 4 times in the last couple of years. Price paid is good value for setting, location, spa facilities but the rooms are definitely looking tired. Was upgraded once and there was a huge difference in the general cleanliness and decor of the room. General house and communal areas are stunning and grand but rooms under any ‘deals’ are quite basic and are very far from the reception and facilities so not so good if mobility could be an issue. Overall it ticks a lot of boxes for a familiar and convenient one night stay.
GGuest UserWe were simply intrigued by this unusual place when we were looking for somewhere to stay near Leeds recently. We drove up the drive and followed the well signposted route to the ample, free car park near the main building in the grounds here. Check in was done quickly with a friendly chap who was happy to help us explain where everything was in this unusual hotel cum religious conference centre. I had a single room Room 37 on the 1st floor that could have been mistaken for a modern monk's cell. There was a single bed pushed up against the wall. There was also a tiny desk and chair & a tiny flat screen TV mounted on the wall. There was a small bedside table with a reading lamp. In the separate small, but functional bathroom the shower worked well, there were sufficient toiletries and some good quality, thick white towels. There were enough sockets and the free WiFi worked well Whilst there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, downstairs there were a number of machines for making your own hot beverage. I can recommend the hot chocolate just before turning in for the night. Breakfast was in a dining room on the ground floor and it was surprisingly good with a good choice of cereals, yoghourts, juices etc. and a counter bordering the kitchen where you could select the items for your full English breakfast. Tea and coffee was readily available. Even though we were only here for one night, we had everything we needed for a comfortable overnight stay. Oh, and whilst it is set off away from the hub bub of modern life, you only have to walk down to the bottom of the drive to find a large Wetherspoons pub and further right, down the road, a selection of pubs and restaurants.
HHollandI have stayed at the hotel so long it's clear that it feels like home and I can honestly they they don't go less than above and beyond to help you feel at ease and at home I have not one complaint to make other than, can't you just let me live there guys xx 🥰
Helen on the desk is one of the loveliest people you'll probably encounter and if there's an issue they try their best to deal with it in a favourable manner so that you don't feel awkward or embarrassed, well once they know you better, you'll have to remember how many people they all deal with minute by minute and they aren't all reasonable, understanding or rationale but they all seem to keep their cool and keep a light humour to the situation which is lovely xx
WWhiteJohnThis was definitely a mixed visit. On arrival we were checked in quite quickly receptionist was firmly enough although the reception desk itself seemed more like an information hub then a check in desk so the initial walk in was a bit confusing for me and my partner who don't stay in many hotels.. the one main thing that I noticed in the reception area is just through a set of double doors towards what would seem to be a fitness studio with an overlook of the pool had a chair with quite a nasty looking stain picture included. On arrival into the room things seemed clean tidy and presentable although there were a couple of things that could have been better for example one normal sized towel and 3 hand towels wasn't great and 2 towels would have been better, the toilet roll was very basic and clearly the cheaper stuff which you wouldn't so much expect when staying at a village hotel, there was a tile missing on the bathroom floor with a questionable amount of dust and dirt inside and around this hole and finally the doorframe seemed to be hanging off pictures of this are included. We had a look at the restraunt menu and it's safe to day if you don't fancy a burger, salad or chicken wings you will have to make other arrangements as we did by visiting the local residence 74 cafe about a mile away where we had a lovely time great food and a reasonable meal price. The bar is quite an open space and at first a bit confusing as there are some cinema chairs and big tvs but only playing the news. We had a drink I'm the evening this was probably priced for the venue but at £15 for a single vodka and lemonade and a double whisky we decided on only one when we found out that the bar closed for residents at 11pm which we found a bit early as other places stay open for residents. Room service would have been an option but from what I read this finished at 9.30pm and the is no in room phone to order such. Sleep was comfortable and sheets were clean it was just very hot as the window barely opens, there was no fan provided and no aircon. The TV also says its an Internet TV but upon attempt of connection no services were available. This morning the hotel seemed alot calmer and relaxed, we weren't sure of the breakfast procedures at all so we just sat down and were asked our room number but my partner got quite frustrated as she is autistic and no clear instructions were given it took us a while to source out breakfast and when we did we noticed it was very limited consisting of mushroom scrambled egg starnge potato circles beans tomatoes sausage and bacon. Honestly for me hash Brown's and black pudding are staples of English breakfast and should always be included when possible but unfortunately they were unavailable. I was going to ask a staff member but only one was seen briefly. There was also a High table next to us that was very dirty and when the staff member went to clean she simply sprayed it didn't wipe it and moved on, this didn't seem very hygienic. Breakfast was very average the addition of streaky bacon and chipolata sausages as opposed to tradition thick sausages and back bacon seemed very odd and definitely not our cup of tea! Coffee was not good atall however they do have a starbucks with is great because we do enjoy it. The night receptionist seemed to keeping a very close on me without speaking I found this quite lntimidating as a hotel guest and would have preferred him to ask me any concerns he had other than staring at me until I awkwardly said hello in which he just smiled and looked away briefly until I did then followed me with his eyes towards the stairs and no doubt watched me on camera until I entered my room. Overall a fair experience perfect I guess if you just need a quick room and have to extra money to burn but not ideal for us so probably wouldn't return.
NNeil CookeNice enough hotel but with some reservations, the main entrance had work going on and was closed.the signage for the alternative entrance was poor and so difficult to get into the hotel. Once in side (I entered through the health club) there wasn’t ant directions to the reception. Once checked in, the room was decent if a bit of a trek to get to. Upon checking out, again the sign for the barrier code wasn’t easy to spot. I’m sure once all the alterations are complete the hotel will be back to the usual standards found at the average Holiday Inn.
