Take the Durango-Silverton train for a scenic ride to historic Silverton or spend a day learning about the Southern Ute Indian Tribe in Ignacio at the Cultural Center. Just a note on the current Covid 19 situation; We *Sanitize* our vacation rentals according to the CDC guidelines with safe practices like: Masks, Gloves, Bleach, washing on Hot, and a whole lot of obsessive cleaning! Our places are very safe to stay and enjoy without worry. Durango is currently partially open with masks required in all public spaces. Restaurants are open with social distancing in place.Owls Nest is the whole upstairs of a very large ranch style house. It is located over the downtairs garage and the house is very well built so there is very little noise from the family downstairs. We do have kids and friendly dogs on the property. The Owls Nest space is totally private with private parking, porch, and entrance. This is a romantic jewel box of comfort, with all the amenities of a boutique hotel. We love having a diversity of people come stay from all over the world. Located in the irrigated farm and ranch land on Florida Mesa, this location is only 15 minutes drive from Downtown Durango. Guests are always blown away by the solitude and beauty of the place so close to town. You will often hear Barn Owls hooting at night or see them swooping though the moonlight on the hunt! My husband and I have been renting vacation homes for 15 years now and this is our latest addition. We have really tried hard to make this one super special, and focused the remodel to get a unique and quality feeling. The orchards are so fun to just relax in for a picnic or outdoor nap, and you can go for a walk around the surrounding hay fields. We have cows, horses, chickens and one good farm dog. They are all overly friendly! The patio is complete with BBQ and furnishings for outdoor dinning or relaxed morning coffee. The entrance is a foyer with an office area and coat closet and then you go up the stairs to the main living area. A super comfortable king sized bed made of reclaimed telephone poles has a built in bookcase around the bottom with a small library. A reading nook for enjoying the quiet with a book. There is a twin bed also with a Tempurepedic Mattress that kids will love, tucked into one of the window alcoves. The kitchen is both adorable with open shelving and built in bar seating. Very usable with lots of great cookware to make a chef happy! "Lavender on the Farm" You arrive into the little community we have on our farm. Community of neighbors and of farm animals! We have horses, cows, chickens, cats, and friendly farm dogs. Being an organic farm, we also have lots of wildlife and places to explore. Oh, and a garden full of lavender!We named this downstairs walk out apartment "Lavender on the Farm" because it is so cozy and relaxing. It is the downstairs half of a larger farmhouse. The space is super comfortable and relaxing. You park right in front of the entrance door and there are no stairs. Durango is a short 9 miles / 15 minutes drive away. This custom built home is a premier place to stay if wanting a secluded, quiet property to come home to after visiting the nearby tourist towns of Durango Colorado or Pagosa Springs. The main bathroom has a shower/tub combo and the master has a stand alone shower and a huge upgraded soaking tub. The kitchen has a breakfast bar that seats 4, dining table that seats 10, stainless steel appliances, and is fully stocked with utensils for all your group’s needs. The kitchen has the following items: plates, bowls, cups, mugs, glasses, silverware and cooking utensils. There is a full set of cookware, including a large pot with lid. There is a crockpot, set of mixing bowls, traditional coffee maker, keurig, toaster, blender, mixer, baking pans, cookie sheets, storage containers, bbq tools, cutting board sheets, knife set, free standing high chair and more.
