The view was spectacular of Arenal! The staff were excellent. Very humble, hospitable, understanding, educated, and entertaining! A birthday desert for my wife was a hot plate, volcanic style. The chef, Herman, who sang faintly in the kitchen to the radio, played Janice a song. The next song we danced. I was nauseated before and a few days after we arrived. Carlos gave me a great tonic tea of greens picked from a bush on the property. Highly recommended.

Great place right next to Arenal Volcano. Plants and decor is superb with all types of birds. Near local activities like La Fortuna Waterfalls. Dinner was good Breakfast was okay. Staff is friendly. We would not want to be anywhere else that night.

I wouldn’t stay here again. From the time I checked in, I had a poor experience. I got in around 6:00pm and it was dark. After checking in, the receptionist pointed me in the direction of where I would be staying. I started walking outside and thought.. certainly it’s not this poorly lit, muddy, gravel road that I’m supposed to walk down with all my luggage and find my room? Well… it was. The receptionist said there’s a sign at the end that points to the rooms. While this isn’t a long walk — it’s a decent distance after traveling all day and you’re walking in the dark through muddy gravel dragging your luggage to find your room. I couldn’t find my room. Again, it’s poorly lit. I’ve never been here before. So, I turn around and walk back up this muddy slope with my luggage to tell the receptionist I can’t find it. So, she guides me to it… so, one more trip BACK down carrying all my stuff. The receptionist herself seemingly didn’t know exactly where the entrance was to where I was staying because she walked in a circle around the building instead of cutting to the direct path. She cut through some little bushes or something to get to the front door and I was like “is that really the entrance? How would I know to walk through those shrubs?” Again, she seemingly didn’t know herself exactly how to get to the room — but I’m supposed be able to figure it out? lol ok. The “A” villas do not have “A” written on them like the others. Whatever… frustrating and really annoyed but not the end of the world. Well, it’s now been about 48 hours since I checked in and other than sleeping, I’ve hardly spent time in the room. But for the time I’ve been in the room 1. There’s an army of ants crawling along the ledge in the bathroom (no food around), on the dresser (no food around), and one day after leaving boxed food on the table for 2 hours while I showered, cleaned up, and relaxed before eating — ants were everywhere. 2. The AC was dripping water last night on top of the dresser so I turned it off and just used the fan 3. Before the AC started dripping water, it was rattling LOUDLY for a good 10 minutes. And when I switched to just the fan, it made a loud humming noise for a long time. 4. There’s no phone in the room so they seemingly don’t want you contacting them with issues. It’s inconvenient to have to walk all the way up to the reception area at 9pm to tell them there seems to be issues with the AC when I’ve been gone all day and just want to go to sleep vs. go back up to the reception area and wait for who knows how long for them to maybe or maybe not solve the issue. 5. I have doubts about how well my room was cleaned… there’s a decent size wad of plastic trash next to the bed when I checked into my room, I pull the sheet back and the first thing I see is a long hair (I have short hair), and the orange sheet thing at the end of the bed has a visible stain on it… why would you not just wash it? I’ve kept all my luggage zipped up and haven’t unpacked becau

I cannot say enough good things about this place! The views of Arenal and the countryside were incredible, the family that owns it are so hospitable, and the food was amazing. I missed being there the minute I left. If you want to experience the pura vida life, this is it. What a wonderful way to spend my daughter’s birthday.

This is a lovely quiet place. Breakfast is ordered the day before and brought to your door. Our lodge had a lovely view of the volcano. The owner and staff were so friendly. The evening restaurant is good place to visit too

Peaceful & idyllic location situated at the base of Arenal Volcano which was shrouded in mist so we never got to see the whole volcano but was still a beautiful sight. The lodges were tastefully scattered to provide everyone privacy. Large bedroom with fridge & coffee maker. A large bathroom with walk in shower. The owners were so friendly & bent over backwards to help. There was a small onsite restaurant with a super friendly chef & the meals were delicious & well priced. Breakfast was cooked and delivered to your room by the lovely owners but needed to be pre ordered the day before. Relaxing to sit on the terrace eating breakfast or watching the sun go down. The gardens were beautiful with flowers, trees & birds. Great little place to unwind but near enough to get to the town if you wanted to.
