It took us a while to find this hotel. It is situated in the side streets of Kyoto. A bit far from everything. Not much cafes and restaurants are found within the vicinity of this hotel. The check in process is a bit frustrating especially if you’ve traveled far and walked a long while prior to check in. There is no personnel to assist you. No complimentary bottled water. No convenience store nearby which is odd if you are in Japan. The nearest Family Mart is probably 300m away. The room is planned well. There is ample space to walk around despite having 3 luggages. There is a little tub in the bathroom and electronic toilet.

Fuss free check in and out, good water heating and essentials provided. Self use washing machines are available (400-500yen each wash&dry). Only downside is it gets abit noisy especially on the weekend nights. You may hear ppl shouting and the traffic, which may not be suitable for light sleepers.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Tokyo Stay Kyoto Sanjo Karasuma during my visit to Kyoto, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The hotel's prime location in the heart of the city made it incredibly convenient for exploring the various attractions and immersing myself in the local culture. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff at the reception. They provided me with all the necessary information about the hotel facilities and the surrounding area, ensuring a smooth check-in process. The staff members were consistently helpful throughout my stay, always ready to assist with any inquiries or requests I had. The room I stayed in was cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed. Despite being compact, it offered ample space for a solo traveler like myself. The bed was comfortable, and the room amenities were modern and well-maintained. I particularly appreciated the complimentary Wi-Fi, which was fast and reliable.

Room was reasonably sized for two people, clean, and comfortable. Hotel is in a quiet residential area, but also very conveniently located near a bus stop and a train station. Staff were friendly. Lobby has a vending machine with drinks. The in-room washing machine is a true game changer... we were able to pack lightly thanks to being able to wash our clothes! Keep in mind that there is no dryer, but they provide hangers for drying your clothes.

The location is excellent and right in the downtown of Kyoto but not in the front street which will be too crowded and noisy, still there were some noisy from the restaurants and bar nearby which still played loud music even after 12:00AM, so not ideal for those people who needs total silence to sleep. This is probably the necessary evil when live in the downtown hotel, but the hotel is already in the back alley so felt a bit better. Cannot consider the service top quality since the hotel front desk is located at 8th floor, and there is only one person tending the luggage at ground level till 6PM, so no service can be offered at ground level, this is the part can improve since some of the high floor hotel do have ground floor service crew unless in a big commercial building complex. The room is nicely decorated and everything feels new, no complaint about the room. Although the breakfast is a bit disappointed given the very limited selection of foods and Japanese style breakfast can only offer limited number (25 serving per day?), this part can definitely make some improvement, at least inform the guest about the limited number so we can book in advance.

The transportation is convenient. Exit 3 of Kyoto Shiyakusho Station on the Tozai Subway Line leads directly to the downstairs of the hotel. Although the facilities are not smart enough, they are well maintained and easy to use. The service is particularly good. The Japanese breakfast set menu is exquisite and delicious, and the buffet breakfast has both Japanese and Western styles, as well as Chinese steamed dumplings and siomai. It is very close to Kamogawa. There are many delicious restaurants in nearby Kiyamachi (mainly Western) and Pontocho (mainly Japanese). The restaurant is relatively late. The three nearby commercial streets are also very lively, and most shops close early. The view from the room is great, as is the view from the breakfast restaurant.

The room has a substantial size, bigger than the usual Japanese hotel, the design is great. The hotel opened in 2022 so everything is new, it has shuttle bus service to and from Kyoto Station 京都駅 every hour which came in quite handy as we spent some time shopping there. You can check the timetable on the hotel’s website. The location is a bit far from the central Kyoto area but there is a lot of enjoyable historic sites surrounding the hotel and the area is quite calm and tranquil. The view from our room looks towards the inner garden of the hotel which is quite nice. There is a mountain at the background as well to add to the natural vibe. Staffs had the usual Japanese mentality, very welcoming and pleasant. There is a subway station near the hotel, about 3-5 minutes walk, but we never got to use it as the convenience of taxi got us every time. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Situated around 300m from the metro station, the hotel is a modern, clean and handy base to tour the city. Bear in mind that very few hotels in Japan offer family rooms, you will typically be in adjacent double or twin rooms - so be sure to ask. The hotel reception is to the left of the entrance as you walk in and the whole check in process took less than 5 mins. Be aware that very few allow early check in, but they will safely store your bags whilst you go for a wander around the city. The rooms have all the usual mod cons. TV, direct dial phone, aircon, hairdryer, fridge with freezer, pyjamas and desk. The one thing we really liked was the quality and quantity of toiletries - they were a highlight. The soaps, shampoos etc were a delight. Free razors, tooth and hairbrushes were also available. The beds, pillows and bedding were good quality and we all slept well. The ‘western’ Breakfast on the ground floor was a little limited and ended at an early 10am, even though it was adequate. You can also opt for a Japanese style on the floor above, but this finishes at 0930hrs Overall it was a comfortable and clean hotel which was more than adequate for our needs. Use on JR Tokai tour. So I don't know the price of １ nights, but it is used at the price of the shock of 22000 yen from Tokyo to the Shinkansen ２ night. Since Kyoto has the top level in the country, it is probably necessary to win the simple business hotel at the low rate of selection at the price of the inbound zero. It was the first unizo, but the first thing to note is ”clean linen”. Anyway, everything is clean and beautiful. Everything is very comfortable from the entrance as a space with the shallow construction. The room is small with 14 square meters, but it is larger than the APA, and the room with heavy color use is not bad because it is not seen in a light touch room with a thin color like Toyoko inn. It was a pity that the bathtub was small, but it was prepared to the original amenities and bath salts, and this was also a good impression. What was more surprising was the quality of towels, and there were many thin bath towels in business hotels, but it was quite good here. Wifi is comfortable, and various portable charging adapters are also available, and coffee and tea are also provided firmly. The only regret is that the restaurant of １ F is ”Matsuya”, so breakfast becomes Matsuya's regular meal. This is a pity. I didn't want to eat, so I made a plan without it. If this is a quality vegetable center buffet, it is 100 points without complaint. . . I thought. I don't know what price it will be after the corona, but at this time there is no complaint if you stay overnight. I think I will use it again.

Minn Gion is a great hotel with reasonable prices. First of all, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We received a warm welcome upon check-in and were always prompt and courteous in responding to our requests afterwards. Their response was truly moving, and the whole hotel was wrapped in a warm atmosphere. Secondly, the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The furniture was modern and comfortable, and the bed and tatami mats were very comfortable. The bathroom was also large and comfortably equipped. And the facilities in the hotel were great. I especially enjoyed the sauna and spa facilities. The large and clean sauna and spa was the perfect place to soothe our weary bodies. Additionally, the food was outstanding. Around the hotel is the most bustling ”Shijo Kawaramachi” area in Kyoto, and I was able to enjoy dishes using local ingredients every day. Overall, Minn Gion is a great hotel and offers a relaxing and comfortable stay. Great service from the staff, comfortable rooms, luxurious facilities and a great location made our stay very special. It is a wonderful hotel that you will definitely want to use on your next trip! Recommended for everyone! Furthermore, the price is reasonable, and the cost performance is outstanding.
