"The hotel is worth every penny. It's central close to Kyoto station with so many nice restaurants within walking distance. The room is big, always clean, has everything you need for a cosy, comfortable stay away from home. Highly recommended."

"This hotel is incredibly close to Kyoto Station (just a 5-minute walk, and very easy to find if you exit from the Central Gate), making it super convenient for getting around. There's a 7-Eleven conveniently located directly across the street, and plenty of great restaurants within a 10-minute walk. It's very clean and quiet, and laundry facilities are available. I stayed in a Kyoto Tower room, which had large windows (though they don't open) offering a great view of Kyoto Tower."

"Amazing experience. Some traditional japanese vibes mixed with westernized traits.
It was our first time visiting a hotel with any resemblance to a traditional japanese hotel - this was a great entry point into this kind of experience.
As is traditional, you are required to leave your shoes in the footlockers by the entrance. You walk around the hotel in socks / barefoot. In some spaces wooden shoes are provided (example: public toilet on the first floor, toilet in the hotel room), everywhere else is socks-only.
The design is very traditionally looking, pleasing to the eyes.
Breakfast offers a combination of japanese and western dishes in a buffet style - so if you want to try some traditional japanese food, but are afraid you won’t like it - you will still have plenty of options (I will add a photo as an example - in reality the list of options is much bigger both in both japanese and western cuisines).
Onsen is great, works a long time (3pm-10am). We went there in the morning / day / evening — all times it was not too crowded, sometimes there were only a couple other people in there. The onsen are separate for men and women, so there is no need to check against any timetable (men hours / women hours, how some other hotels do it) - you can go any time when onsen is open.
Location is great too — multiple subway stations are close, Kyoto Tower is in about 10 minutes of walking. Many restaurants nearby."

"Firstly, the location is superb. Kyoto Station is just a 10-minute walk away, and there are abundant dining options, convenience stores, Yodobashi Camera, and Don Quijote all within easy walking distance. Priced around 500, this established 5-star hotel offers rooms that are quite spacious by Japanese standards, providing incredible value for money. Free parking and EV charging stations are also available. They also have Chinese-speaking staff. The only minor imperfection was finding a hair on the bed, suggesting they could pay closer attention to detail in their cleaning."
"The surrounding area offers excellent attractions like the Kyoto International Manga Museum, the Museum of Kyoto, the impressive modern historical buildings along Sanjo-dori Street, various shopping areas, and ShinPuhKan. The breakfast was fantastic, with both Western and Japanese options available. Our room was impeccably clean, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. The hotel is situated approximately 80 meters down an alley from the main street, which ensures a wonderfully quiet and comfortable night's sleep. It's also conveniently close to Kyoto City Hall."

"The stay was wonderful.
Location right infront of Kyoto station & local bus interchange. If you came late from Kansai airport by limousine. the limousine will stop at Kyoto Avanti 3-5min away from this hotel.
If you join day tour, the pick up point is same at Limousine drop of point.
Many 7/11 & restaurants around.
The hotel look very new, room & bed was very comfortable and toilet was very clean. Hotel's staff front deck & housekeeping very polite.
The coffee house open for free hot & cool beverages for guests from afternoon till 10pm.
Will sure book this hotel if we visit Kyoto again."

"Excellent location, very good for commuting to other cities.
Although hotel is practicaly between train tracks, rooms are almost soundproof, so good sleeping.
Matress was bit hard but not a big problem.
Breakfast is quite good, also some western dishes but fresh fruit was missing.
Gym was not on site and would be appreciated.
Hotel can store luggage free of charge."

"This is always my go-to hotel whenever I'm on a business trip to Kyoto. The rooms are spacious, well-equipped, and feature a huge TV. The location is incredibly convenient, with Kyoto Station right outside the hotel. Don Quijote (Donki) is just a stone's throw away, offering incredibly affordable prices and a vast selection of goods. Plus, you can enjoy tax-free shopping for purchases over 5,500 JPY.
The room was free of any unpleasant odors. While there's a public bath on the 2nd floor, the in-room bathtub is almost as good, as it's incredibly spacious – I'd say two adults could comfortably sit in it. Waste separation follows the traditional three categories; just remember to peel off the labels from beverage bottles before putting them in the plastics bin.
And finally, the air freshener – it's the best I've come across in any hotel. It lasts a long time and has a subtle, elegant fragrance."
"The location is excellent, just a 5-minute walk to the Shijo bus stop and 10 minutes to the subway station. With a FamilyMart conveniently located downstairs, all our breakfast and late-night snack needs were covered.
This hotel offers great value for money. The room was quite spacious, featuring a king-size bed that comfortably accommodated two people. It also came with a small sofa and a table. I was particularly pleased with the ample hangers provided.
A delightful surprise was the onsen (hot spring) bath; it was wonderfully relaxing to soak in it every evening after exploring.
My only minor point of confusion was that while the room was tidied daily, the bed itself wasn't made. It would have been nice if they could at least straighten out the sheets a bit."
"We had a good stay there. The service is good. Room is clean. There are several shops and restaurants nearby. It’s about 8-10mins walk to the nearest subway station. 20-25mins walk to the market. The hotel provides tea, coffee and water at the reception. There are washing machines, ice machine and vending machines on the same floor. Their public bath is clean and good."

Amazing
GGuitianzhiyiThe location is absolutely superb. It's within walking distance of Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Yasaka Shrine are also just about 1 km away. Kenchō-ji Temple is right on its doorstep, making it perfect for a morning or evening stroll.
As for the hotel itself, it's truly exquisite. The lobby and interior design are very sophisticated, and the rooms are generously sized – a genuine rarity in Japan.
They even have a dedicated hot spring bath (onsen) that's available all night. After a day of intense sightseeing and walking, soaking in it is pure bliss.
Even better, the hotel is adjacent to Gion-do. I suspect breakfast is prepared by their chefs, which is a definite perk!
Overall, the value for money is exceptional, and it absolutely justifies the room rate.

Amazing
MM501724****I stayed in a twin tatami room on a ladies-only floor. There aren't many rooms on each floor, and the shared restrooms, vanity area, and shower rooms are all accessible via key card through one main entrance. These shared facilities were spacious and immaculately clean. This was my first experience staying in a hotel with shared bathroom facilities, but my stay was very comfortable and peaceful. The subway station is right outside the hotel, and a bus stop is just a five-minute walk away. It's less than a 20-minute walk from JR Kyoto Station, and you'll pass Higashi Hongan-ji Temple on the way.
There are many izakayas and Japanese restaurants in the vicinity. The Wagyu beef I had on my first night was absolutely amazing. If the weather isn't too hot, you can walk to popular sights like Kiyomizu-dera, Sannenzaka, and Hanamikoji in about 20-30 minutes. If you get tired, there are plenty of bus stops along the way. A bus ride costs 230 JPY, and I used my digital Suica card to simply tap and go. Fushimi Inari Shrine is also easily accessible; you can take the subway from the station right outside the hotel, and it's a very short ride. When I was in Osaka, I didn't carry any cash at all, relying entirely on my digital Suica card for all transactions.

Amazing
MMel.amEnjoyed the racing of laundry machines daily while I was there, there are always many people waiting to use it.
Anyway, generally a very cosy hotel. The rooms are not big, but not as small as Tokyo’s same price point.
Breakfast menu doesn’t change, except for their Kyoto dessert of the day. Maybe they do change their menu, but at least not that I know of, I was there for a total of 5 days
P.s: There’s a clam ramen stall just beside the hotel that’s always queueing. Pls don’t queue, it’s really not fantastic. If the queue is less than 5 people, that means it will probable be 30-40mins, you can give it a try. Otherwise, don’t bother. It’s not worth it.

ККрыловаТатьянаVery convenient location of the hotel, close to Kyoto train station, bus stop. The rooms are comfortable, there is a small wardrobe, a shelf by the bed, a small table. Next to the bed is a USB socket for charging a smartphone. Cleaning, clean towels and a set of home clothes (sweatshirt and trousers) every day. Excellent breakfasts, a large selection of delicious Japanese and European dishes.

GGuest UserRooms are small but equipped with all important things like kettle, washing machine and trousers press. Location wise I wouldn’t say is the best as there’s nothing much around the area but is about a 3 minutes walk to the station. Service is good as they helped us with our luggage delivery so it was fuss free. The downside is the lack of house cleaning because they only change towels and empty dustbin. Also, we bought the room with “window”, it was literally a small flossed glass with nothing to see and barely provided any natural light.

GGuest UserNice house with average services
Front desk staff may arrive late so there are chances that you need to wait under the sun as all doors closed and you can only contact them by email during that time (not very responsive)
Thin wall so may hear people talking in midnight

SssweetsodaI opted for a tatami room, primarily wanting to experience the Japanese aesthetic. It was indeed quite a novel experience. If you're looking for something unique, it's definitely worth trying. However, for maximum comfort, I'd highly recommend a standard room instead. Most people, myself included, aren't used to constantly sitting, eating, and sleeping on the floor day in and day out.

PPanjinxielingyunThis is my third visit to Kyoto, and having always stayed near Nishi Honganji Temple, I can confidently say this is the best hotel I've experienced so far in the area. I stayed here for four consecutive nights this time, and my overall experience was excellent. The breakfast spread was extensive, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It seemed to attract a lot of Western guests, and they offer a convenient shuttle service to Kyoto Station. I felt it offered excellent value for money, and I highly recommend it. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Ccairns8010To get to the hotel, you have to climb a long and steep slope. It was so hot that I was sweating like crazy. The location is not as good as Park Hyatt. Breakfast is set, but you can add anything you want. The Japanese and Western dishes are very exquisite, but I don't like them. Especially the breakfast without self-service fruit is too low. The hot spring is a bit like Six Senses, but not as big as Six Senses. It's good with fewer people. It's unexpected that a hotel of this level doesn't have a sound system. The only good thing is that all the service staff are very friendly. The overall review is really average.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel is quite a distance from both the subway station and the main shopping street, making shopping quite inconvenient. Even the bus stop requires about a 100-meter walk and crossing an overpass. They offer a public bathhouse with separate sections for men and women. The water was quite clean, and it felt incredibly relaxing to soak in after a long day of walking. My room, located on the 9th floor, had a distinct urine-like odor when the air conditioning was turned on. The smell only dissipated after I used the air purifier. The included buffet breakfast had a rather limited selection of items. On a positive note, there's an excellent ramen shop located right downstairs from the hotel, which is definitely worth a visit.
