Very happy to have picked this hotel. The hotel is just next to the train station so it's very convenient and it's just one stop from Kyoto station. I like the room decor, nice and modern and room size is quite big. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The reception is big and manned but a little surprise it's self checkin. There are 2 check in terminals next to the reception and the staff will help you with the checkin. Checkout is also self service. Enjoyed the hotel breakfast with a wide choices of western and Japanese food. There's a nice park next to the hotel where you can walk or jog. There is a public Onsen on site and is foc for hotel guests. It's not very big but adequate. There is also a foreign exchange machine near the reception but the rates are not shown unlike some other machines. The best rate was at a machine at the entrance of the building opposite Starbucks in Kyoto Central Station. I had wanted to book Hotel Emion which is also nearby but this one offers better value.

Comfortable stay in a beautiful spacious room. A peaceful retreat from the bustling crowd. Train station and convenience stores located within a short stroll. Not forgetting the delicious breakfast spread too. What a great stay.

This hotel is a hidden gem in Kyoto, especially if you’re looking for convenience and comfort. Located right next to Umekoji train station—just one stop from Kyoto Station—it’s incredibly easy to get around. There’s also a beautiful, expansive park nearby, perfect for a morning run or evening stroll.
The hotel itself is spotless, with top-notch cleanliness throughout. Service is excellent—the staff is warm and helpful, and they offer a super convenient airporter service to send your luggage to the airport or another hotel directly.
While the hotel doesn’t have a gym (a bit of a downside for fitness-focused travelers), the rest of the facilities are solid. Breakfast isn’t extravagant like some larger hotels, but it’s more than sufficient to start your day off right.
Overall, a great stay for travelers who value location, cleanliness, and service.

**Strongly Not Recommended – A Disappointing 4-Star Hotel Experience**
I strongly advise against booking this hotel due to its poor service and subpar guest experience, which falls far below the standards expected of a 4-star establishment. Below are the key issues I encountered:
1. **Uncomfortable Room Conditions**
The room had an extremely disruptive **light green spotlight** that remained on even when all other lights were turned off. This made it nearly impossible to sleep comfortably, as the glow was intrusive and clearly not designed with guest rest in mind.
2. **Rude and Unwelcoming Check-Out Experience**
At check-out, the reception staff displayed a complete lack of hospitality. When politely requesting drinking water, they **refused in an impolite and dismissive manner**, making it clear that guests are no longer valued once their stay is over.
3. **Unprofessional Check-In Process**
Upon arrival, the reception staff failed to charge the correct tax amount during check-in. Instead of resolving this internally, they inconvenienced us by asking us to return to the front desk to settle the payment—a clear lack of attention to detail and guest consideration.
**Final Verdict:**
This hotel fails to deliver on basic service standards, let alone the luxury expected of a 4-star property. From poor room design to unprofessional staff behavior and administrative errors, my experience was highly unsatisfactory. I would **not recommend staying here** and suggest exploring other options with better guest care.

A very nice and comfortable hotel. It is located very close to the train station and there is a Family Mart connected to the hotel. There is also a kids playground very nearby to the hotel which my kids love it so much.

The experience at this hotel is amazing. Excellent customer service. The room is spacious and clean. Location is strategic, just 1 station away from Kyoto station. This is really good for us as we travel direct from Kansai Airport.
Overall, very good experience and certainly will pick this hotel for my next visit.
