You can take a leisurely walk from Kyoto Station to the hotel or you can transfer to Kujo Station from Kyoto Station. When you exit from Exit 2, you will find the hotel right there. If you have luggage, Exit 4 has an elevator. The location is quite convenient as there is a 7-11 just a short walk away. Rooms may be small in size, but they offer hot spa. Considering these features, I highly recommend it.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was quite an enriching experience having to sleep on a Japanese style bed. Initially we were stunned by the mattresses and set up as we forgot that we booked the Japanese beds, but it exceeded our expectations as we slept pretty well on it. The blanket was HEAVENLY & FLUFFY - an absolute joy. Definitely a thing I missed when I returned home. The toilets were decent and the showerhead water flow was good.
Service wise - the rooms were cleaned daily and they did help keep the mattresses during the day. We also paid to have a 40mins private onsen experience for about 500 yen. Pretty alright, esp if you would enjoy some privacy. Do reserve beforehand with the front desk. Additionally, the staff were able to converse in many languages & were always very helpful! :)
Location wise - it's pretty convenient & accessible. We were surrounded by lots of cafes & shops that we can explore just by walking around the neighbourhood. Many temples & tourist spots were within walking distance too.
The only irk we had was the noise and soundproofing as we could hear people outside & whenever they walked around or by the stairs. Sometimes, the roadside can be noisy too.. so it did affect our sleep sometimes.
But regardless of that, it's a pretty decent spot to crash when you're in Kyoto! Do give them a try!
From the entrance to the inn, I was able to have a luxurious experience in a historic townscape that was beyond my imagination. The room is clean and I am very satisfied!
In addition, when using the lounge, the hospitality of the staff was excellent, offering fragrant tea and alcohol, and we were able to have fun conversations. They gave me a lot of suggestions to make my stay in Kyoto wonderful, and it was fun! The service was excellent, with alcohol being brought to your room instead of just in the lounge. thank you.

Although the room is not big and not very new, the service and cleanliness are good. The transportation is very convenient. It is just across the road from Kyoto Station. There is a big Don Quixote cosmetics store next to it. I bought too much and couldn't carry it. I could send it to the post office, but I finally learned that the hotel has a service of express delivery to the airport, so I went to the front desk of the hotel to mail it. The hotel also provides free cocktails and bathing services. It is worth mentioning that it is very close to the airport bus and you can buy tickets in advance. Overall, it is very comfortable and satisfactory.

Excellent. They make you feel like you’re their special guest at their home and everything is well thought out in order to maximise your comfort. Garden was beautifully curated and the kiseki was exquisite as well. Definitely go for the half board option if it’s available! Thank you for the unforgettable experience.
Hotel Material was a great value stop in our tour of Japan.
We stayed for 2 nights as a family of four and it provided everything we needed. The bunks were large and ample for even adults. The sunken king bed was unusual, but easily the largest bed I slept in in Japan and well worth the investment. The shower was also excellent with both great water pressure and was tall enough to accommodate me at 6ft without sitting, a first for me here.
The room was clean and well presented and even came with some games to occupy the kids. The staff weee helpful and happy to look after our bags before check in.
The hotel also has a lovely roof terrace available which we weren’t expecting.
Overall, this hotel is average and not good value for money! The hotel is at the foot of Nanzenji Temple. It is more convenient to climb the mountain to see the temple in the morning. To go to other attractions or shopping, you need to walk a distance before taking the subway. It is understandable that the hotel facilities are old, but the poor quality of the bedding seriously affects the quality of sleep and also makes people worry about hygiene issues. Since the hotel has a restaurant, it does not provide food delivery service to the rooms, which undoubtedly reduces the experience for a Japanese-style hotel. The delivery service was relatively standardized and did not leave a deep impression. Poor sound insulation is a common phenomenon in Japanese-style hotels, so guests should try to be careful about what they say to avoid disturbing other people's rest. The best experience is the breakfast session. In the traditional Japanese restaurant of the hotel, the tofu banquet is a famous restaurant near Nanzenji Temple. It is recommended to wear the kimono provided by the hotel to show respect for the local culture. It is a pleasure to enjoy the beautiful Japanese garden scenery while dining. The hotel has a traditional public bath, but the environment is average. Overall, this Japanese hotel experience is average

One of the best hotels I’ve been so far! I would come back for sure ! The services are kind of unique and entertaining ( movie projections, books to read, cocktails to try). The staff was very kind and helpful. One lady was especially welcoming and took her time to explain everything to us in perfect English . The location of the hotel is very good as well. Many restaurants nearby. Make sure to ask the hotel to book a seat at a restaurant for you since most of them were fully reserved and you don’t want to be rejected at the entrance because of that. Great experience overall .

JJarl SolangeThe service at this hotel is famous: everyone seems happy to see you. The location is also very good, close to the station but not so close as to feel busy. But what I really liked was the breakfast, which I found exquisite. I definitely recommend this hotel.

YYI HUEYThe accommodation experience in the townhouse is really authentic. The house is beautiful and very comfortable as soon as you enter the house. No matter how you take photos there, it is very interesting. We were very satisfied with the food at the hotel because we have family members who don’t eat beef. Although the hotel couldn’t do it at first, they were willing to communicate and let us choose different foods. Thank you very much!

LLi Ing Sheryl LeeWe like how the check in was done through an automated system which was easy to use. A staff is nearby to help if help is ever needed. The hotel also offer amenities in the lobby for guests to self-help which even include facial products like make-up remover and masks. The hotel room was clean and beds were comfortable. The pillows provided are of 2 intensities - hard and soft so that guests can choose to use whichever work for them. Sufficient space in the hotel room. The service staff are always smiling and pleasant to talk to. When I called the front desk to check if I could borrow their travel adaptor and I offered to go down to collect from them. The front desk helped to deliver it up to my room in less than 5min. I really appreciate their effort. All in all, this hotel is very efficient and we enjoyed our stay.

AAnitaI had a great experience staying at this hotel! The surrounding streets were very clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant environment. There’s a convenience store right downstairs, which made it super convenient to grab anything I needed. I highly recommend this hotel for its excellent location and overall convenience!

GGuest UserI stayed at Miyako Hotel Kyoto Hachijo, and the location is definitely the highlight. Both Kyoto Station and AEON Mall are within a very short walking distance, making it easy to get around and do some shopping. In fact, I could even see AEON Mall from my room, which was a nice bonus.
However, the room and facilities felt quite old, even though they were well-maintained and very clean. The lighting in the room was dim, which gave it a somewhat dated feel. Check-in was done through a self-service machine, and there was an additional 400 JPY accommodation tax per person.
The service was okay, but it lacked the warmth and friendliness I’d expect from a four-star hotel. Overall, I felt the price didn’t quite match the quality, and I left a bit disappointed despite the great location.
If you’re looking for a more modern option, I would recommend considering another hotel very near Kyoto Station, which offers a lower price but newer facilities.

PPOCHENGThe hotel is close to Karasuma-oike station. However, if you have a luggage, it is easier to exit by elevator from Exit 5 and cross the road to the hotel.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. Space is decent for a family of 3.
We also liked that they have a common place at the lobby where we can eat or snack. They also offer coffee, water and other amenities (toothbrush, cotton buds, face wash etc) too.

GGuest UserVery polite and helpful staff. The hotel and rooms were very clean. The breakfast was ok and they offered both japanese and continental options. The standard rooms on the 2nd floor had no view as there was a large wall in front of the window so i would definitely not recommend this option. The premium rooms are on higher floors and offer better view, if that is what you are going after. Overall it was a comfortable and clean place to stay for a few nights

GgzsylviaThe hotel is newly opened, with a very elegant design. It continues the Banyan Tree's usual wooden elements to give people a fresh and natural feeling. The rooms are spacious. I love the wooden private bath in the room the most. The hot spring spa is amazing. The hotel provides exquisite dinner and breakfast. Walking in the hotel's small garden in the morning and looking at the dense bamboo forest is very healing. The staff is warm and thoughtful, polite and meticulous, and the ceiling level
