This place is a few blocks away from Nijo JR station and a Y2000+ taxi ride from Kyoto station. There's also a subway station nearby. I wasn't in Japan as a tourist, but I don't think that its location is all that convenient to tourist attractions. Plus it's not really a restaurant district, but there are some decent places mostly in the vicinity of Nijo station. On arrival, I was delayed and concerned that my booking might be cancelled as a no-show. I called the hotel and they were most helpful, reassuring me that I could check in 24/7. As it was, I checked in after midnight, and there were no problems. My room was small but well equipped. The double bed was comfortable enough for my 4 night stay. There wasn't much of a view – it looked out onto the building next door. Like a lot of more recent business hotels in Japan, there was no bath, just a rain shower. There were breakfast and lunch buffets, but I didn't try either. A Y400 or Y450 breakfast was available at several coffee shops near Nijo station, and for lunch I visited local restaurants with family. Family members who had previously tried the lunch buffet said they'd been underwhelmed by its value for money. As far as my stay was concerned, I was happy with my room, enjoyed the service, and would stay again.

I wanted to go to Nijo Jo castle at the first time in the morning so I could choose this hotel. It is located north of Nijo Jo castle and is a few minutes walk. The price is not so high even though it is close to Nijo Jo castle. The hotel is also new and clean. I also saw Mt. Hiei from my room. Anyway, it was very convenient to have a microwave in the room.

Spacious hotel rooms considering the usual room size in Japan! I personally love the separated dry & wet bathroom. There’s free flow of hot & cold drinks and bathroom amenities located on the lobby which you can collect everyday! Nijo station is just across the road, you can even see it from the hotel! Friendly & helpful receptionist whenever I need helps! Tips: you can ask the receptionist for luggage transfer service (they will give you a card, you just need to scan the barcode & follow the instructions for reservation), I used it for my luggage transfer to Osaka (currently there’s a promotion where you can use the promo code for free luggage service transfer, for up to first 100 redemption per day). Overall I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Kyoto!

This hotel is located right near the intersection of Shijo Horikawa. I checked in at midnight, but the front desk was kind and I was able to respond without a disgusting face. The room was clean and the amenities were substantial, and there was a USB port for charging, which was very helpful. However, probably because it was a premise to use a large communal bath, there was only a shower booth in the room. It may be a negative for those who want to slowly soak in the bathtub in the room. Personally, I was happy with the large communal bath, so there was no problem at all. It was also good that the transportation was convenient. From the Shijo Horikawa bus stop, you can go not only to Kyoto Station, but also to famous tourist spots such as Kinkakuji, Kiyomizu-dera, Toji, Nijo Castle, Arashiyama, and you can go to Gion and downtown Kawaramachi without changing trains. You will need to change trains once, but you can also go to Nanzenji Temple and Ginkakuji Temple. If you walk a little, you will find Hankyu Omiya Station and Arashiden Shijo Omiya Station, and it is very accessible for sightseeing or business. There is a Family Mart just south of the hotel, and there are 7-Eleven ahead, so you don't have to worry about a little shopping. The accommodation fee was reasonable and it is a recommended hotel.

The water in the bathroom is very weak and bathing takes a long time, which is very unpleasant. However, there is a bus stop near this hotel. It is very convenient to go to the JR station. The streets nearby are also quiet. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants. There is only a Royal Host Western restaurant. The service is very good and the food is delicious.

The hotel is a bit business style and the TV in the room is quite small. The hotel comes with swimming pool but you need to pay extra to use the amenities (about $10-20 per person). We felt the locals (taxi driver for example) aren't really welcoming foreigners (English speaking) and might act a bit rude, but besides that, the town is quieter than Osaka and we enjoyed dining at Yakiniku Yaruki - Shijo Kawaramachi (all you can eat BBQ with wagyu beef).

The room is great and the view is awesome. Room is clean and tidy.
Access to Kyoto Tower and Tourism Guide Center(inside the train station) is effortless if you compare to other valuable hotel. You may also buy bus ticket to Fuji Q-Highland in the next building. Transportation is easy if you stay there.
The service is quite nice since the staffs are very helpful and so kind(full of smile). Also, they're quite good in English. You may also get the discount voucher to get into Kyoto Tower Observatorium Deck.
Amenities are basic, should be added, like shaving kits, etc.

The location was right beside Kyoto station and easily accessible. The room was spacious and with a smart TV?! Major win. There’s even a separate laundry room and dryer and sauna their customers can use. They also provided baggage storage when the room is not ready yet. Even after checking out, they allowed us to leave our baggage with them to go get a quick bite before heading to the airport. Great service and vibes. Will definitely book this hotel again for my next trip!

6699nigelaStayed here for 6 nights. Staff fantastic, room modern with all usual Japanese up to date bathroom facilities. Just a 6 min walk from Kyoto central station so access to all other areas in Kyoto either by train, subway or bus very easy. Free extras were the afternoon tea, happy hour drinks and evening supper - rice with sauce and nibbles. A couple of the major Buddhist temples 5 ,10 and 20 mins walk also the Japanese railway museum. Loads of food choices at and around the station. Very clean and affordable.

And of course the convenient location and unbeatable price goes without saying. Really a must stay if you happen to go to Kyoto. GGuest UserAccommodation that only sleeps for users who want to save accommodation costs. Facilities / rooms are new, clean and clean. The room is large enough to have a single bed (thick mattress). There is no TV, toilet, wash basin, shower booth and toilet are shared. Bed making, garbage disposal, self-service, amenities are only toothbrushes. It is a short walk from Gojo Subway Station, so it is easy to access and suitable for sightseeing. Considering the service side, I think the cospa is bad.

GGuest UserI used double － m for one person, but when I entered the room one step, I thought, ”Is it not so large?” In fact, when I was arranging my luggage in the room and moving color 々, I realized that if I was alone, I would take a room that was quite easy to use. I didn't eat at night for one night, but all other places such as lounge and receptionist have a luxury feeling and luxury feeling, but I feel at home somewhere I felt it was a lodging facility to say ”I travel to live”.

GGuest UserWe had an excellent stay at this Machiya (traditional Kyoto townhouse) for 3 days. We only did in-room dining one night, but that was also excellent. The check-in process is a little strange, as you will receive communication from the company that's a little dense and will not interact directly with the staff unless you choose to. We had to scan and send our passport photos and fill out a registration card, but that was it. The property is small by European/American standards in the sense that you will need to be careful to avoid damaging (including possibly your own head) things during your stay due to height and luggage weight. There's slippers provided to switch from your walking shoes to walking inside the property and there is an excellent bathtub and washroom with washer. My two cautions - this firm has English speaking employees available during business hours (and an emergency line) but it is geared primarily towards the Japan renter. Be prepared to know Japanese or be willing to take the time to translate certain things via your cell phone/app of your choice to understand how to work the various appliances.
