I thought this hotel was good value for money, considering its 5 stars and location in downtown Kunming. The room was spacious and the bathroom was well appointed, with a lovely bath(with very hot water which I often find lacking) and a shower with great water pressure. The only downsides were that I found the room itself(not the bathroom) to be a bit outdated in terms of the fixtures and fittings. Also, the gentleman who checked me in wasn’t particularly friendly. He couldn’t speak English(which is not a problem at all, although I would expect it in a five star hotel) but he didn’t say a word to me throughout the entire check in process until he gave me my key. There’s much more to communication than just language and I felt his customer service skills were a bit lacking considering his position on a reception desk.

The Hotel is located in the center of Kunming. Two metro lines just nearly. One line direct deserve the airport and the other one direct rich the south railway station. By foot one can go to the historical city center. We booked the suite 2026 which is very spacious with big windows, overview the city. The decoration is outdated. The bed is pretty old. Sometimes the AC doesn’t work well. Breakfast is very good. All the stuff are very helpful and friendly. Overall is not a real 5 stars hotel but the price is very fair for what you get.

From the reception service to the floor cleaning service, everyone is smiling and gentle. Stayed for four nights, and there were fruits or snacks every day, as well as good night milk. I made an impromptu decision to go on a trip with friends. I compared many hotels on major travel platforms from price, location, star rating to guest reviews, and finally decided to conservatively choose Jinquan. The moment I entered the room, I still felt it was a great value. I stayed in a room on the non-smoking floor. The rhinitis patient felt good. When I returned to the floor after breakfast every day, I could see that the service guy was very serious about cleaning the room. The service lady who delivers milk to the room at night is also smiling.

Our plane was delayed due to bad weather and when we tried to check into the hotel the receptionist happened to have lost our booking. It was 3am and I had a 9am train and had to get some much needed sleep. I saw Home Inn had a room and they put in a lot of effort to make sure that we could get to our room as soon as possible. Very polite front desk staff. The rooms are in excellent condition with the shower being my favorite part of the room since all I really needed was a sleep and shower. I would definitely come back and recommend anyone who appreciates good service.
