Hotels in Cuihu District, Kunming

Excellent Hotel, the staff at the reception is extremely helpful and kind. Since it is located in a place where cars can't access, they can come and greet/send you off to the nearest road (no more than a minute of walking). The breakfast options are great and even as someone who hates eating breakfast because it makes me feel uncomfortable, I loved it and it was a great start to climb the West Mountain. Access to the metro to go to the mountain is really close by. They're right in front of the Golden horse and Jade Chicken gate which leads to the center with many food stores. 10/10 will book this hotel on my next trip to Kunming.

The location is absolutely fantastic! The subway station is just a short walk away, making it super convenient to get to Cuihu Lake, the Military Academy, and the city center's shopping districts. Zhu De's former residence is right next door, and there are tons of local snack shops around that only locals know about, so you'll never have to worry about food or shopping. Even though it's in a bustling area, the hostel itself is very quiet, so it doesn't affect your rest at all. For anyone looking to really explore Kunming, this is the perfect hub. Oh, and the pizza is super delicious!

We stayed here for three nights. It's a charming and beautiful boutique hotel. The room's soundproofing was quite good, and the hygiene was impressive. Although the front desk staff's attitude at check-in was very poor, the lobby manager, who happened to be nearby, noticed the situation and promptly resolved it. We were also given a complimentary gift bag upon departure, which was much appreciated! **Suggestions for Improvement:** 1. The breakfast menu could definitely use some improvement. They should consider adding more meat dishes, as currently, there isn't much to eat besides a bowl of noodles. The restaurant itself is quite small, leading to wait times during busy periods. Optimizing the table and chair layout could significantly increase seating capacity. 2. I didn't participate in the afternoon tea, but I noticed some guests carrying fruit and prawn crackers to eat by the rooftop pool. Given that seating on the rooftop is already limited, I hope the hotel can enforce better management. Just a few days ago, at the Shangri-La in Shenzhen, guests wearing hotel slippers into the restaurant were stopped, but here, such behavior in the restaurant seems to be largely ignored by the staff. 3. The elevator wait times are definitely long. Two elevators are simply not enough for the hotel. Once you're upstairs, you almost don't want to come down because you know you'll have to wait so long for an elevator again. 4. While the hotel's location *seems* convenient for reaching various places, in reality, getting around by foot or car actually consumes a surprising amount of time. 5. The exhaust fan in the bathroom is practically ineffective. The lingering smell of a previous guest's smoking in the toilet area was very strong and wouldn't dissipate. Although the hotel did come to address it later, which helped a lot, I hope they can improve the exhaust fan's performance in the future.

This is a historic, vintage-style hotel. The location is superb, right at the main entrance of Cuihu Park. Kunming Old Street is just 1 km away and easily reachable on foot, with the route dotted with popular photo-op spots. While the hotel's facilities are a bit dated, they contribute to its historical charm. The service from this established hotel was absolutely impeccable. From the moment we stepped out of the car at the entrance, through check-in, and all the way to our room, a dedicated staff member was with us. We were quite touched, even a little embarrassed, that an elderly gentleman insisted on pushing our luggage all the way to our room. Upon check-in, we were offered peach gum and white fungus soup, floral cookies, and fresh fruit. The buffet breakfast was also quite varied. Several well-known mushroom hot pot restaurants are also conveniently located just outside the hotel, within easy walking distance. Highly recommended.

Couldn’t ask more for Atour Hotel. Everything meets or exceeds our expectations. The room is good size, amenities are modern and functional; super comfortable beds and pillows; the breakfast is delicious; the location is second to none (eateries, shopping all nearby); and last but not least, the staff are very friendly and helpful. We even got a takeaway breakfast on the day of checking out because our train was early morning and had no time to have breakfast at the restaurant. Will definitely recommend to everyone who come to Kunming!

I stayed for 4 nights and was very satisfied, so I extended my stay for another three nights. The front desk staff kindly informed me that booking online was cheaper than booking directly and that I could even keep my original room. They also gifted me some fruit and delicious snowflake crisps. The room windows had screens, making it easy to ventilate the room. The bathroom was clean, and the hairdryer was compact and effective. I particularly liked the good quality shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel with their pleasant tea fragrance, which were mild and non-irritating to the skin. There were plenty of wooden hangers in the wardrobe, along with a safe and a mini-fridge. Several full-length mirrors were convenient for trying on clothes. The buffet breakfast was exceptionally plentiful, and the hours from 6 AM to 10 AM were conveniently long. The restaurant itself was spacious, bright, beautifully decorated, and clean. The hotel's surroundings were beautiful, with the stunning Cuihu Lake just outside the entrance. The area was dotted with shops, making it convenient for dining and shopping. Taxis were also easily accessible.

Nice and affordable hotel with nice location. Right by the green lake which is a nice area for walks, food and sightseeing. Useful amount of restaurante and amenities around. Metro is around a 700m/10min walk away, where one stop is needed to travel before reaching the main lively area. Super friendly staff and great service from them. I had problems with the ac in my room the first night and they promptly changed me to a new room. Breakfast is basic, nothing special but okay. Cheap.

The location is fantastic, right in the city center. It's within walking distance of Kunming Old Street, Nanping Street, Zhengyi Square, and Shuncheng, and only about 2-3 kilometers from Green Lake. Highly recommended for tourists! The front desk staff are incredibly welcoming; they even helped us with our luggage and went out of their way to assist with any requests we had. The lobby doubles as a coffee shop, so you can grab a morning iced Americano, and there's also a tea station. It's truly a 'multifunctional' hotel, offering everything you could need. I'll definitely be back. Five-star recommendation!!

This hotel I chose in Kunming was, I'd say, perfect in every way. First off, the location is super convenient. It's not far from Kunming Old Street or Green Lake Park, just a 10-yuan taxi ride away. Then there's the hygiene, which is what I care about most. The room was incredibly clean and tidy, and the bedding was so comfortable. I slept soundly every night; the mattress was just right, neither too soft nor too firm. Plus, it was very quiet. The breakfast was incredibly rich and delicious, I absolutely loved it! The fruits, vegetables, and rice noodles were all fantastic. Next time I'm in Kunming, I'll definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it! And the complimentary flower cake souvenir they gave at the end was delicious too!!!

The hotel has just opened and is quite new. The location is also good. It is in a complex building. There are shops and restaurants downstairs. There is a Tongde Plaza nearby, so it is convenient for eating. Come to CUFE to visit your children and you can walk to the school. It’s only about ten kilometers to Dianchi Lake. I booked a deluxe double room with two 1.5-meter beds. The room was relatively large, with new facilities and good and enthusiastic front desk service, which deserves praise. The breakfast is average with few varieties. It would be better if it could be improved. A small suggestion is that the bathroom should be equipped with racks to store clothes and towels, which will be more convenient.
