A very nice hotel with friendly service in a good location. It is between two stations on two different lines of the subway with an easy walk about 10-15 minutes either way. There are also a lot of shops and restaurants within a few minutes walk or a short cab ride. The hotel buffet breakfast had a lot of choices with both Chinese and western dishes and very good service. The room was very large and clean and comfortable. Tv had English news channel and the Wi-Fi worked well although I seemed to only be able to log in one device using the same phone number to get a code. The front desk staff spoke English and were very kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

The Hotel is located in the center of Kunming. Two metro lines just nearly. One line direct deserve the airport and the other one direct rich the south railway station. By foot one can go to the historical city center. We booked the suite 2026 which is very spacious with big windows, overview the city. The decoration is outdated. The bed is pretty old. Sometimes the AC doesn’t work well. Breakfast is very good. All the stuff are very helpful and friendly. Overall is not a real 5 stars hotel but the price is very fair for what you get.

I thought this hotel was good value for money, considering its 5 stars and location in downtown Kunming. The room was spacious and the bathroom was well appointed, with a lovely bath(with very hot water which I often find lacking) and a shower with great water pressure. The only downsides were that I found the room itself(not the bathroom) to be a bit outdated in terms of the fixtures and fittings. Also, the gentleman who checked me in wasn’t particularly friendly. He couldn’t speak English(which is not a problem at all, although I would expect it in a five star hotel) but he didn’t say a word to me throughout the entire check in process until he gave me my key. There’s much more to communication than just language and I felt his customer service skills were a bit lacking considering his position on a reception desk.

This was an absolutely lovely stay. The room was clean, and when the staff cleaned the room while I was out, they went above and beyond, organizing everything, and everything perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good but only chinese, just take note if you’re a fussy eater. The room was very clean but smelled like smoke. There were “no smoking” signs everywhere but even the hallway smelled like smoke. This s not conducive for a non smoker as it would not allow one to have a good night of sleep.

I loved my stay at Hualuxe. I was able to talk to them through wechat before coming to confirm Covid-19 testing policies. The service was great, he hotel was clean, and the grounds are beautiful! Good value for the money. much better than the other 4 hotels in the area that share different levels of the same building and have only one elevator each. Stayed in the Atour hotel the week prior. The room in the Doubletree was much nicer than the Atour. Restaurant was nice and saved me from intestinal discomfort that I experienced the week prior at one of the nearby barbeque restaurants.

If you are heading in and out of Kunming on a short trip this is excellent choice, close to airport, 30 minutes drive. There is a shopping mall and a beautiful flower garden with Chinese restaurants. I had my best hot pot with Yunnan rice noodles here. Hotel staff spoke very little English. Mr Leo was the savier who helped us in making our stay and dining comfortable.
