Yunzhiyu Homestay

Honestly, my stay in Kunming was just meh. I didn’t expect that there are still airbnb that don’t provide air conditioning, especially in a city like Kunming that isn’t particularly cold (unlike Lijiang or Dali, where chilly nights make it okay). Maybe I missed the room details and booked the wrong type, so I’ll let that one pass. Finding the place was a whole other adventure. It’s inside a condo building, and when I asked the receptionist for help, she just told me to use Apple Maps. Girl, trust me, I did. Still couldn’t find it! When we finally arrived after asking people around, the receptionist wasn’t even there, she was out picking up her food delivery, and we waited a solid 15 minutes (yes, I checked the time). The laundry room? HAHAHAHAHAHA. Let’s just say we scrapped the idea of doing laundry that day. Location-wise, it’s quite far from Shuncheng Street and other main attractions. We had to rely on taxis to get to Shuncheng Mosque, Kunming Old Street, and Guandu Ancient Town. Halal food? None nearby. (At least I did tried to search for one but ended up have to walk quite a distance) You’d have to walk at least 1 km to reach any halal stalls. Only if the reception girl was a little bit nice, maybe I wouldn’t care to write a more better review but she blew her chances twice 🤣 Don’t get me started on the water heater, I mean like how, why? Ahhh never mind, I don’t want to bother myself remembering the amenities anymore. Anyway to all fellow Muslims! Please, do yourself a favor and consider another hotel if you’re coming to Kunming! Somewhere nearby to Shuncheng Mosque bcs if you are like me, then you will either starve yourself or OMAD😆
