Yukai Zhishang Collection Hotel (Kunming Shiji Jinyuan Dadou Motian Shopping Center)

I chose this hotel because of its great location. The subway and bus are right outside, and there are shopping malls and restaurants nearby. I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. First, the soundproofing. I was worried about the noise from the street, but with the windows closed at night, I could barely hear anything outside. Even if someone was walking in the hallway, it was silent. This is incredibly important for light sleepers. While the room amenities aren't the latest, they're well-maintained. The TV is high-definition, the Wi-Fi signal is stable, and the cleaning is spotless. This level of attention to detail isn't just superficial; it truly reflects consideration for the guests.

I stayed at this hotel for 11 days, and overall, it was a great value for the price. I write this review with all my heart. I was very pleased with the hotel staff. They were all very friendly and welcoming, coming to my room to clean and change the sheets at my request, and patiently answering all my questions. I broke my leg while I was there, and the staff even helped me find a nearby clinic and kept asking if I was okay. The staff were truly wonderful, five stars! The room's cleanliness was a little lacking, but at this price, you can't expect too much. I asked to clean under the bed, and the staff promptly came to do it, which was a nice touch. Honestly, though, it was quite dirty at first, which was a minor drawback. I loved the room's wall-mounted projector, which I connected my computer to watch movies on, which was a huge plus. The stairs are quite steep, so be careful. I fell because I wasn't paying attention, so I can't blame the hotel for that. The washing machine and free laundry detergent on the rooftop were a great touch. The area around the washing machine was a bit stained from detergent, which would have been nice if it had been wiped more thoroughly, but that's still acceptable. As a foreigner, I felt the lack of good restaurants nearby wasn't really a problem with the hotel, but more due to the location. There's a large shopping mall right next to the hotel, which is quite convenient. One thing to note is that the walls in the room are quite thin, so you could hear your neighbors moving around at night and occasionally smell cigarette smoke, which probably depends on whether there are any smoking neighbors. The hot water was a bit cold, and the toilet had a squat toilet, not a sit-down toilet. The air conditioner worked fine, but I think appliances like the air conditioner and washing machine could use more regular cleaning to prevent them from getting too dirty. I live alone, so I'm not sure if families with children would find it noisy or inconvenient for them to rest.
