It was a terrible experience. We arrived 1 day before the festival and stayed 3 nights. However, when we checked in, the staff informed us that there was no room for the 2nd and 3rd nights because we did not receive any notification from the OTA (which we thought the hotel had secretly sold our room to someone else at a higher price).
However, the hotel had a room for us on the first night, but the atmosphere around the hotel was terrible. It was in the middle of a fresh wholesale market with trucks running all night and in the morning, people were shouting from outside. We did not feel safe because we were in the middle of a Burmese community. There were spit marks all over the streets. There was no refrigerator in the room and the bathroom was quite old.
After our first night, the hotel moved us to a sister hotel 9 km away, at our own expense. It was inconvenient and far from the festival that we had hoped to be able to walk to from the hotel.
Luckily, the new hotel was in a safer area, but the room was cramped and still did not have a refrigerator. Most importantly, we had to carry our luggage up and down the 3rd floor ourselves because there was no elevator.
The hotel did not compensate us at all. We felt very unlucky to book this.
