Room is lovely and big and there is a nice bath as well as a shower! However it is a long walk to the beach of about 30 minutes and as it was rainy season it rained a lot during my stay and unfortunately the hotel does not provide umbrellas which was disappointing. The staff are very friendly and the hotel faces a mountain which is nice and you do hear wildlife such as frogs at night. A decent hotel for the price and if you rent a scooter the location shouldn’t be an issue.

Another hotel pretending to be a resort. More like a upmarket backpackers. 1. Safe in the room not working so you have to deposit your valuables at reception in their lockboxes. 2. Management is absent and never come. 3. The whole place is in need of a coat of paint, which will never happen. 4. No restaurant and no breakfast or any other meals. They provide a toaster in the morning but also paper plates and cups and plastic knifes. 5. No tissues or bathrobe. 6. Towels are so old it was like drying yourself with cardboard. I am sure there is more I could say but best just to advise you to avoid this place.

Excellent hotel, the room is very large. We had a double bed. Large bathroom. There is a shower and a bath. We booked without breakfast, but in the morning you could come for free to drink tea or coffee, make toast with butter or jam. Excellent pool, clean and warm. Small depth difference. The hotel is located far from the main pedestrian street, those without transport have to walk a long way. But the hotel has a shuttle.

We loved the staff, mainly the ladies at the reception, really adorable, the hotel has aged, on the other hand the bathroom and more recent, but considering the price we pay we should not complain and it need a means of transport, a shuttle takes us 3 times a day and then take a taxi back

Everything was perfect, nothing negative here. You have to walk to get to the waterfront but it is much quieter than the hotels on the main street.

It was obviously a suite, but I was given a normal room type, because I arrived at the hotel after 9 o'clock in the evening, I couldn't understand the language, I was too lazy, and the waiter was very good. It seemed that I was the only one staying in the room that day.

After reading some reviews AFTER booking I was a little concerned ! No need . We had a lovely stay. We have stayed in Ao Nang on and off for 28 years and watched it grow from beautiful tranquility to tourist hell. Phu Petra was like stepping back in time . Lovely location , attentive helpful staff , big clean rooms. It's not a 5 star luxury resort. It is a 5 star typical southern Thai charm accomadation and HUGE value for money $600 australian dollars for 8 nights . Light free breakfast . Shuttle.bus to main Aonang . 5 min walk to some great quiet Thai family restaurants . Great pool area . Little.peace of Heaven in AoNang. Thankyou Phu Petra Amanda and Martin

Beautiful place, far from the madding crowd of Aonang but close enough to walk to the main stretch. Villa is huge and has a bath, drop shower, mini fridge and deck area. The view is stunning and you feel quite remote even though you are close to town. The pool was fab and the kids lived swimming up to 9pm. The room was great and had everything we needed. Stop at 7/11 for sodas and drinks if you like to have something in your room. There is only coke and soda at the hotel. There is no food but the lay on a simple breakfast which is enough to get you on your way. The staff were delightful and nothing was too much trouble. They sorted laundry, bowls and extra glasses for us when required. You can book yoga at the hotel up the road and there is a nice pizza place two minutes walk away. Also Rainbow restaurant 5 min walk from villas is a nice cheap meal. The villas could use a spruce up but honestly we loved it and it felt like great value for money. We walked down to the beach and were relieved to get back to our peaceful accommodation.

This is not as described at all! The hotel is run down and doesn't look anything like the pictures. Some reviewers said their " dining experience " had been good. This can not be true - there is no restaurant! The room looked clean, but bedding and towels were old and tired. We couldn't stay there and found another hotel.

We stayed at this resort 7 years ago and loved it. The pics you see on the website are old ones and now are very misleading. If we could have rates <1 we would have. Extremely run down. No restaurant, not even a pop cooler. A total of 6 broken lounge chairs for pool. Exposed wiring all around pool. No hand rails on main steps. Uneven concrete surfaces everywhere. Landscaping has been abandoned, long grass and neglected. Rooms are horrible. Old, tired old towels thin, ripped. Bed is frightful. Bath smells of sewer gas. Lobby looks abandoned and not welcoming. This is the absolute worse hotel we have stayed in in all our world travels....even worse than 3rd world nation standards. We paid 155 cad per night and this should have been 50 or less per night. Last night in am we had no water for showering and washroom. We reported and all they said is sorry.Don't ignore this review, and yes we are picky, but being honest. Book elsewhere...not here.

Wow. What a stay! Aonang Phu Resort is perhaps the best stay in town for the price per night. Firstly the rooms are absolutely huge. Not only do you get a massive bedroom, but there’s a private study area, a huge bathroom with bath and shower & a front porch to relax during the evening. Secondly the pool. The views of the surrounding hills and jungle are stunning. There could be a couple more sun beds but we never had issues. The pool is well maintained and modern. In terms of location you are about a 10 minute walk from the top of town. It’s about another 20 minutes to the beach, but we loved the walk through the jungle and passing all the restaurants. Those with a scooter will be absolutely fine. There’s also a free shuttle service to the beach on the hour throughout the day. Plenty of cheaper restaurants closer too. Highly recommend Rainbow which is about a 7 minute walk away. Tee restaurant in the jungle is an absolute must and can be reached by walking 20 minutes deeper into the jungle or a quick taxi journey to the nearby 5 star hotel ‘Anana’. There’s a Macro superstore close by should you need to stock up on supplies & you’re close to the Mountain Buddha Temple too. Unfortunately the on site restaurant is closed but we experienced this in a lot of hotels across Thailand. We presume it’s a result of COVID. However unlike other places where you just have to get on with it, Aonang Phu provides a buffet of toast, cookies, teas, coffees, hot chocolate & jams every morning by the pool. Completely free! The staff are wonderful. So friendly and helpful. Room was cleaned every day & easy to book taxi from front desk. We had a power cut one morning and lost all water and electricity. The staff had the issue fixed within the hour. If you’re looking for your own private piece of paradise away from the noise of the main *****, but somewhere you can use as a base to easily get to day tours and other islands. This is the place! We payed around £30 a night and honestly it felt like we should have been paying three times that! We will be back!

I chose a quiet room. When we arrived we noticed that right in front of our terrace a guest was working online all the time and was talking very loudly. The management could not assign me an adequate alternative room. We agreed that my reservation was canceled free of charge. However, despite repeated warnings, I did not receive a refund.
Response from Property: Upon your arrival, you found that there was one guest who was working or talking with noisy sound in front of your villa. Once you told us, we immediately told him for volume down for you. In between, you had already quarreled with this guest. According to the situation, we also offered a new room for you. Unfortunately, you refused our proposed and wanted to check out right away because of your personnel reason with this guest. We could say that we did try our best for this situation between you and this guest. It was beyond our control to make every guest stay in quiet at the resort. Our staff told you upon checking that please contact your online travel agent for this issue. We did not say and promise anything about refund upon your checking out. Refer to the booking policy, there is no refund for under stay for any issues.

Absolutely love this hotel. I stayed here 5 years ago with my children and it is still as amazing as I remembered. In the jungle. A lovely walk from the hotel to the town where you get to see a bit of real Thailand. The rooms are beautiful. We were very lucky that there were only 4 other couples on site (covid has been hard on Thailand) because of that it felt like we had our own private hotel. The restaurant and bar were not operating which was great as we were able to bring in own drink. The staff have been so helpful. Free shuttle to town. Will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy the nature of Thailand.
