Good basic budget homestay. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They can help arrange an amazing day trip to the backwaters including the best lunch I had in Kerala.

Exceptional experience with these two wonderful people. The room was the cleanest i’ve had in India and the AC is super quiet so you can have a cool, quiet nights rest. The breakfast is flexible in hours and very generous. They offered so much help with visiting Kochi and the transport to the airport. Thank you!

We stayed at Bastian for 3 nights and had an amazing time. The family were so kind and helpful, always giving us any advice for places nearby etc. The room was clean and spacious, and very good for the price. The owner was so kind he went out of his way to drive in the pouring rain to buy me some yogurt for my stomach so I wouldn’t get wet. Definitely the best stay in India so far and I’d definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed our final two nights here at Bastian Homestay prior to returning to Scotland. Everything here at Bastian, was great, Bastian his wife and daughter were very helpful and hospitable, the rooms, shower/toilet facilities were very good, and the location in Fort Kochi safe and quiet. Breakfast option on site, very good value and yummy. Bastian can organise excursions tuk Turks and taxi using trusted sources.

Bastian and Gina made me very welcome, even coming out to the main road to meet me when the taxi driver from the Airport couldn't find the address. The HomeStay is located down a narrow alleyway off KC Jacob Road, so it is easier to arrive during daylight hours if you can. The location was only a 10 minute walk away from the sea and even closer to the Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica which is a good landmark to use for returning from your local adventures if using a tuktuk. The WiFi was excellent and breakfast was good, but only available between 8 am and 10 am. Bastian helped me get a local sim card which was really useful and helped arrange backwater trips for guests putting people in contact with others wanting to do the same trip to keep the costs down. The room is basic but comfortable. If I return to Kochi, I will have no hesitation booking Bastian HomeStay again.

Highly recommended. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a good breakfast and at reasonable prices - money well spent. But the real draw is Bastian himself and his lovely wife. They are so friendly and helpful from arranging massage appointments to day trips, rail tickets and even sim cards - all made so much easier by these lovely people. A really good place to stay.

This was a great place to stay run by a friendly and professional family. The room was clean and had everything we needed including good wifi and unlimited drinking water. We used other services like breakfast which was good value and tasty, and the laundry service which also worked very well. It is very efficiently run. During our time in Cochin, we had some problems accessing cash from an ATM and the family were very helpful.

This is a wonderful homestay. The owners are very kind and helpful and helped with organising tours and ayurvedic treatments, the place is clean and quiet, the location is excellent and the breakfasts are amazing. Highly recommended!
