Hotel rates in Fort Cochin were astronomical so I decided to try the Killians which had availability and was not too expensive. First the positives. It is in a fantastic location in Fort Cochin, very close to the Chinese Fishing Nets and across the road from Brunton Boathouse. The reception, restaurant and housekeeping staff I dealt with were all friendly and helpful. Special recognition should go to Mr Jithin, the night time receptionist, who went above and beyond to help me with a number of issues. He is an excellent employee and very nice person. On the negative side the rooms are rather dark and drab, and cleaning could be better. I had problems with my safe box (some numbers not working), there was no view from the window and the WIFI was poor and kept dropping out. Breakfast was limited, but acceptable, with fresh juice, good omelettes and fresh fruits. Coffee was quite poor though. I would return to Killians only if I got a very good deal, with the hope that the WIFI and room cleaning could be improved.
