The hotel is generally OK. They give breakfast in the morning, you can order Japanese and European. You need to order breakfast in time. There is enough breakfast in the morning. The amenities were good, although one day the trash was not taken out. I don’t know what it was connected with, apparently there was some kind of delay. The main minus is the location from the station, it’s about 20 minutes’ walk up a small hill. The trains run strictly in Japanese and until late. Be prepared for this if you choose the hotel for its price. You have to walk the last 50 meters along the highway. It’s also easy to get to Arima directly from Kobe, where there is a good choice of inexpensive accommodation. I liked Kobe in general. So think before making a choice. I walk a lot and the location of the hotel was not a problem for me.

The hotel staff were very kind. The breakfast had a wide variety and was delicious. A bottle of mineral water was provided in the room each day.

What an amazing stay! It exceeded all expectations. The place is super nice with design interior, rooms are warm, spacious and comfortable. The whole place is modern, yet has a very traditional authentic feel and feels serene. The staff is very attentive, caring and fulfills your every need - they make you feel welcome, and explain everything to you very well even if you are a foreigner, there was no problem communicating in english. You are guaranteed 2 private stays in the private onsen spa of your chice - one in the evening and one in the morning, the time slots are more than enough to cover guest capacity and you have choice. The public onsen is pretty awesome too, although i felt so relaxed after private onsen for so long i went there just because of curiosity lol. The dinner and breakfast are HUGE and are SUPER tasty. Excellent products and execution, it was my first time tasting a5 wagyu. I recommend you do not eat lunch before coming to the ryokan for dinner, maybe just breakfast or something small because you will want to eat everything in this amazing meal set. I still feel kind of full 1 day after checking out. The hotel has nice common areas with free beverages, board games, ping pong ans some slot machines for entertainment. You can reserve karaoke room or get massaged in the automatic massage chairs. After we chcecked in at 3pm we did not need to go anywhere away from the hotel and just enjoyed our time there. If you want to book very specific timeslots for the private spa come in at that 3pm, because people queue up 30 min before in the lobby. Although i felt this was not really necessarry because like i said, the capacity is calculated well and you are guaranteed 2 entramces with available time slots. The first time slot starts at 4pm and is in 1hr intervals - with 5 available onsens up until the night. Morning onsen had plenty of free slots. They also offer free shuttle bus and it was always quick, we even called from public telephone in Arima when before checkin and had no problems arranging pickup in english. What i wish is if they were a little bit more flexible with breakfast times, because you also reserve a time slot but it's not like it's a course meal but traditional breakfast + buffet and you have to decide at the check in, which is kind of soon to think about when you want to have morning meal, but it's not too big problem. I guess it is a way to prevent everyone rushing in 5 min before closing time like some people do. The breakfast has plenty of variety and you even get a preheated own grill! Overall, we couldn't pick a better place for our visit in Arima, we are so relaxed and it was oje of the best places we have ever been to!

The environment and dishes are quite satisfactory. The rice is as delicious as ever, but the overall price is not high. It may be that the reputation of Ma Hot Spring is great, and the boss is really big (there are many celebrities in the store to take photos).

I booked this hotel because it was touted as one of Asia's top 100 onsen hotels for 2025. However, apart from the hot springs being decent, every other aspect of the service was a massive letdown. To begin with, both the kaiseki dinner and the breakfast the following day were truly subpar. The room was dreadfully small. Furthermore, despite inquiring about kimonos (as there were none in the room) with both the front desk manager and a server, who assured us they would send them up shortly and even took our sizes, not a single kimono materialized by the time we checked out the next day. We paid over 7,000 RMB for a family tatami room for four, including breakfast and dinner. At this price point, anyone staying here is simply getting ripped off. There will absolutely not be a second visit, and I also sensed a certain unfriendliness towards Chinese guests.

The hotel is located on a slope behind Arima Onsen street. The actual distance isn't far, probably just over 800 meters if you take a leisurely walk through the hot spring town. While there are many hotels on this slope, carrying luggage uphill can be a bit tiring. So, I'd recommend contacting the hotel in advance (or via Ctrip) for their pickup service. A hotel shuttle will quickly pick you up from Arima Onsen Station, and the ride takes only about five minutes. The hotel is situated by the Rokko River. The rooms have been renovated and are quite clean. There's a Japanese-Korean izakaya on the first floor, open from 5 PM to 11 PM. This is very convenient, especially considering that many restaurants in the hot spring town tend to close early. I must especially praise their hot springs! They offer both 'Gold' (Kinsen) and 'Silver' (Ginsen) springs. Guests are generally well-spaced out, so there's often no one else around when you're bathing – many times, I had the springs entirely to myself. The springs are absolutely fantastic, making it completely unnecessary to pay to visit the 'Gold Spring' in the main hot spring town, as the spring sources are reportedly the same. Arima Onsen street isn't very large; you can comfortably explore the entire area in about an hour. If you have some spare time, you could also go for a hike in the mountains behind. All in all, the hot springs are the definite highlight here.

Oriental style hotel. Not too far from the subway station. Very clean. Only 3 rooms on each floor. Medium size hotel. We like the size for an oriental experience. Shared 金湯 and 銀湯 onsen on the 2nd floor.

A great hotel, the hotel is very quaint and has a Japanese style. The room is large, the mattress is very comfortable, and the sleep is good. The staff is also very friendly and kind. The hotel's breakfast and dinner are also very rich and delicious. The hot springs are rotated every day, so you can experience them all.

One of the best accommodations I've ever had! Extremely polite and friendly service, private hotel springs are amazing, truly relaxing. Very easy and convenient self booking option. Free shuttle but to/from station, if you are afraid to call you can easily write them to WhatsApp or other messengers. I'm very exited and highly recommend this place to stay.

A lovely traditional hotel with a few rooms in a secluded quiet location at the end of the village near the funicular. Very friendly staff. We were greeted with a cup of tea and local waffles. The traditional kaiseki dinner and breakfast was an unusual and interesting experience. Spacious traditional room with access to a garden with a pond with koi carp. The pool with golden water is nice. The pool with silver water in a regular room.
