I initially planned to book a two-night stay but was hesitant due to mixed reviews about the hotel. Instead, I opted to book for one night to see if it met my expectations, intending to decide later whether to extend my stay.
After dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, I made up my mind and chose to extend for an additional night.
The reception staff spoke good English, making the check-in process smooth. The set dinner and breakfast were delicious, with the restaurant staff being polite and attentive. I must commend the chef for the effort in creating varied menus for both dinner and breakfast each day of our stay.
The onsen was quiet and peaceful during my visit around 5 PM.
The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable; however, the lighting was too dim for my preference.
The only downside of my stay was the weak Wi-Fi signal, not just in the room but throughout most areas of the hotel.

It is a 2-floor hotel with hot spring for the guests to enjoy. Though the staff speak little English, but they try their best to communicate. I enjoy most the food they offer. The package includes breakfast and dinner. To my surprise, the dinner is a 5-course french cuisine with coffee at the end. The quality is high not only the food but service. The breakfast is mixed with French and Japanese style. Main course is french and served, and the Japanese food and drink is in buffet style.
I learnt that some people may find the location is not very convenient. However, the hotel provides shuttle bus service to and from the train station. Kindly make reservation in advance and the transport is well managed. If you love a relaxing and quiet holiday in Karuiazawa, this hotel is a good choice.

The room is large, with a sofa, the bathroom is separated into wet and dry areas, the room is clean and tidy, the hotel has a public hot spring, and there is a rest room in the lobby where you can drink wine. There is a small church outside the hotel, you can go and have a look.

It's a little strict.
The location is a little inconvenient if you don't have a car, but I was aware of this.
What was disappointing was the room. There were problems such as peeling wallpaper, damage to the toilet door, a closet door that had been removed, and a malfunctioning TV. I wish they would pay a little more attention to maintenance.

#negative #I was disappointed with the Value for Money, Nearby Shops, Hotel Smell, Bed Comfort Level; Why didn't Ctrip tell this hotel when recommending a hotel that dinner needs to be reserved in advance? If you don't make a reservation, it won't be provided. The surrounding area was pitch black and there was no place to eat. Free shuttle bus is also complete nonsense! There are no buses after 5:00. You have to make a reservation when you go to the station in the morning. If the bus is full, there are no buses. This is really **service. Breakfast is also Western and Japanese style. It's a complete mess. I hope Ctrip will respect the facts, take responsibility for excessive publicity... and compensate for losses.
