Because of the yellow duck, I stayed at the Hanshen Hotel in Kaohsiung. As soon as I entered the hotel, I was greeted by the scent of flowers and the fragrance was everywhere. For this family trip, the two adults and one child were arranged in a side room on the high floor. The night city view was beautiful. The room was clean and very comfortable to sleep on! The housekeeping staff you meet in the corridor will also smile and say hello, which makes you feel friendly. The welcome fruit in the room is great!

The indigo hotel is as stylish as ever. When we visited, the hotel entrance, lobby and rooftop bar all had Barbie-themed decorations. I like the rooftop bar very much. Although it is not very high-rise, it feels very good because of the open air and the large screen set up in the hotel. My family and I booked a total of four rooms. Each room has a slightly different layout and decoration. I really appreciate the small bag placed on the sink to take the soap that guests have opened and used back home. It is a very thoughtful detail that makes me happy. The soap used can be taken away and used again, no waste! In addition, you can freely choose the pillows in the room. They put the optional pillow introduction paper beside the bed. Other hotels have to call and ask to know if there are other pillow options. Indigo adds a lot of points here!

It's very convenient to get out of MRT Station No. 2, only about 5 minutes. You can go shopping at Fujiya🤣The hotel is quite big and the rooms are pretty good. The beds, quilts and pillows are all very useful, and there is only one pillow. But our bathroom happens to have no door... Taking a bath is a bit inconvenient, but the bath supplies are fully prepared.

A great location with great service. You're right next door to Kaohsiung Pier 2. The rooms may not have windows, much like ours didn't. If they do have windows, you can't open them. They're not particularly spacious in this hotel but you are very close by to numerous restaurants and cafes too, so it works out well. At time we could hear noises from the corridor so be weary of that. Busses are nearby but the times don't always align with google maps. Was a decent place, adequately priced and suitable for the time we had. But if we go back, we'll probably try for a more spacious place with a view! Otherwise for the cheap and cheerful option, this might be a great way to go!

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the Love River. This time I stayed in a city view room. When I opened the curtains, I could see the night view outside, which was very beautiful. The location is good for self-driving, but the service of Ubike is available just 50m away. The breakfast is awesome, and the room is clean with a wonderful city view. I am visiting my mom in Taiwan and decided to spend a couple of nights in Kaohsiung. I will be quite honest. I didn't have a lot of expectations staying at a Holiday Inn Express. But the stay exceeded my expectations. I took the MRT and the station is less than 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The check in process was smooth. I was offered a drink (I picked soda!) at check in for being a Platinum member. A very nice gesture. My room is small, but most rooms in Asia seem small to me coming from the US. It has a tiny view of the river and the park. You can tell the hotel is pretty new. I work a lot in my room wherever I am traveling in the world. This modern room provides all the necessary electric outlets for me to plug whatever I need in. This is important to me as well as good working wifi, which this property provides. Oh! They also gave me a basket of snacks and drinks! That was a very pleasant surprise! The breakfast selection is somewhat limited but sufficient whether you are into ********* or Western breakfast. I don't travel to Taiwan often, so whenever I can have ********* breakfast, that's what I eat! They even have a noodle station, but unlike most other Asian hotels I stayed at, it is a self-serve Noodle station. I don't trust myself enough to make one. I wonder if it is possible for the hotel to allocate a staff person to work the station. The service at the breakfast buffet was great! They offered to make me drinks. I took the opportunity to order some iced latte. I almost gave this place a 5-star, but there are a couple of things needed work: 1) I could never get the shower head aligned to face me directly while standing in the middle of the shower. 2) The water pressure in the sink is really low when it is on cold. If I turned it away from cold, the pressure is fine. But I don't always want warm or hot water. 3) This one is more of a personal suggestion. I wish this place had a gym/workout room. That's another thing I look for when I travel. Not sure if there is anything they can do. But just thought I would throw it out there. I read some unnecessary harsh reviews (like one earlier where the worker had trouble finding their reservation), but my experience tells me the staff tries their best to make your stay enjoyable. I am sorry I couldn't quite give this hotel a 5-star, but I will definitely stay here again in the future when I am in Kaohsiung!

Location was good as it’s around 5 mins walking distance to the MRT station. Didn’t know that there isn’t auto make-up room service as per other hotels unless a sign is hanged at the door. Hence, rubbish wasn’t cleared until the 3rd day. The bed looks clean when checked in, however I had bed bites on my hands and legs on the 2nd night. And there is no changing of towels/bedsheets.
