Because of the yellow duck, I stayed at the Hanshen Hotel in Kaohsiung. As soon as I entered the hotel, I was greeted by the scent of flowers and the fragrance was everywhere. For this family trip, the two adults and one child were arranged in a side room on the high floor. The night city view was beautiful. The room was clean and very comfortable to sleep on! The housekeeping staff you meet in the corridor will also smile and say hello, which makes you feel friendly. The welcome fruit in the room is great!

Can sense the attention paid in designing the room - comfortable bed - bedside charging (usb ports included) - media panel (hdmi port, audio etc… also located bedside) - 49 inch tv is big enough given distance from bed to tv - complimentary mini bar items (though it is just two small bottles of soft drinks and 2 packets of snacks that is not refilled enough though I stayed two nights) - pillow menu - stand-alone bathtub comes with a view! - speakers in room and toilet negatives - tv no Chromecast - duvet could be thicker - bath towels could be thicker - bedside clock cum usb speaker audio quality quite poor - non carpeted floor may not be to everyone’s liking (cold)

I had a great time at this hotel and I was exceptionally pleased with the young gentleman named Benson at the club lounge. The service he showed at breakfast was incredible and I can see from his service that he is very passionate and professional in his work. And my husband loved the cocktails as well. A great location with great service. You're right next door to Kaohsiung Pier 2. The rooms may not have windows, much like ours didn't. If they do have windows, you can't open them. They're not particularly spacious in this hotel but you are very close by to numerous restaurants and cafes too, so it works out well. At time we could hear noises from the corridor so be weary of that. Busses are nearby but the times don't always align with google maps. Was a decent place, adequately priced and suitable for the time we had. But if we go back, we'll probably try for a more spacious place with a view! Otherwise for the cheap and cheerful option, this might be a great way to go!

The hotel is very clean, and the system operation is simple and clear. There is a free 24-hour ice cream bar and washing and drying clothes. There are many sockets in the room, which is very suitable for business needs. The hair dryer is not built-in, which is great, and it is very friendly to girls who need to blow their hair. The service staff are also very attentive and considerate. My favorite breakfast is the freshly fried breakfast. Kangqiao's egg pancakes are always delicious. The top-quality soy sauce paste is really a must-have. It's simple, happy and delicious! In addition, the breakfast in Kangqiao is of really high standard. The location of the hotel is very good, very close to the Love River. This time I stayed in a city view room. When I opened the curtains, I could see the night view outside, which was very beautiful. I am visiting my mom in Taiwan and decided to spend a couple of nights in Kaohsiung. I will be quite honest. I didn't have a lot of expectations staying at a Holiday Inn Express. But the stay exceeded my expectations. I took the MRT and the station is less than 5 minutes walk to the hotel. The check in process was smooth. I was offered a drink (I picked soda!) at check in for being a Platinum member. A very nice gesture. My room is small, but most rooms in Asia seem small to me coming from the US. It has a tiny view of the river and the park. You can tell the hotel is pretty new. I work a lot in my room wherever I am traveling in the world. This modern room provides all the necessary electric outlets for me to plug whatever I need in. This is important to me as well as good working wifi, which this property provides. Oh! They also gave me a basket of snacks and drinks! That was a very pleasant surprise! The breakfast selection is somewhat limited but sufficient whether you are into ********* or Western breakfast. I don't travel to Taiwan often, so whenever I can have ********* breakfast, that's what I eat! They even have a noodle station, but unlike most other Asian hotels I stayed at, it is a self-serve Noodle station. I don't trust myself enough to make one. I wonder if it is possible for the hotel to allocate a staff person to work the station. The service at the breakfast buffet was great! They offered to make me drinks. I took the opportunity to order some iced latte. I almost gave this place a 5-star, but there are a couple of things needed work: 1) I could never get the shower head aligned to face me directly while standing in the middle of the shower. 2) The water pressure in the sink is really low when it is on cold. If I turned it away from cold, the pressure is fine. But I don't always want warm or hot water. 3) This one is more of a personal suggestion. I wish this place had a gym/workout room. That's another thing I look for when I travel. Not sure if there is anything they can do. But just thought I would throw it out there. I read some unnecessary harsh reviews (like one earlier where the worker had trouble finding their reservation), but my experience tells me the staff tries their best to make your stay enjoyable. I am sorry I couldn't quite give this hotel a 5-star, but I will definitely stay here again in the future when I am in Kaohsiung!

All my weekend itineraries were on Pier 2, so I chose Tuna Hotel. The location is very close to the MRT and Pier 2. It takes about 5 minutes to walk there. The service attitude at the morning counter is also very good! We booked a double room. As soon as we walked in, we saw biscuit crumbs and hair on the corner of the door. There were unknown stains on the pillows. There were water stains on the dressing table. The shelf on the bathroom toilet was too high. It was not in line with Asia at all. The settings for the average height of people, and the breakfast buffet bar the next day, several plates were sticky to the touch. In short, the hygienic aspects are really not ideal and not recommended.
