The Humura Resorta Hotel is a hidden gem; a tranquil oasis located near downtown Kampala in Uganda. When you walk through the doors of The Humura Hotel you instantly become family, and you have a genuine and welcoming feeling of coming home. From check in to check out and everything in between, you are treated like royalty. My initial reason for selecting The Humura Hotel was because it had A/C. Yes, you heard me – fully functioning, glorious, fabulous, air-conditioned guest rooms. It was heavenly, especially because we encountered 100-degree temperatures while vacationing in Uganda. There’s also a swimming pool on site in this tropical paradise, and you will definitely enjoy the delicious complimentary breakfast served each morning. AND you have a choice of freshly prepared fruit juices – pineapple, mango and passion fruit! Yummy! The hotel is centrally located to dining establishments and shopping venues. Plus, you are an exciting boda boda (motorcycle) ride away from almost every venue and attraction around downtown Kampala. You should definitely experience a boda boda ride, and yes, the hotel staff can arrange that service for you. If you are looking for a great place to stay while visiting Kampala, please give The Humura Hotel serious consideration. You won’t regret it. The most beautiful place I’ve found in Kampala! Peaceful, clean, with a very attentive staff. The hotel is located just 10-15 minutes walk from the mall and nearby restaurants. A true heaven of peace in the city. I highly recommend it! Thank you Humura

Before we even stepped into the reception, someone came outside to welcome us in and help with our bags. The staff (Mr Dube, Willis, Phiona, Ronald, Ivan, etc) are so helpful and understanding that they make the stay a memorable one. I managed to lose my safe key and without much bother, the whole thing was resolved within the hour. The food was great, the drinks good and the atmosphere excellent. Mr Dube, your team are a credit to your management and I truly hope to see you guys next year. Thank you for everything. Elizabeth Hunt- Room 16.

The pool is tiny, the gym is full of broken equipment and the staff are not particularly friendly or helpful. I was massive overcharged for drinks and breakfast, and there was lots of noise in my room from the room next door. Given that there’s so many simlarly priced options in Kampala I would really recommend that you avoid this place.

The good: Good sized room, plenty hot water, good AC, very quiet, central, cosy and small place - a nice getaway in busy Kampala. Friendly staff. Nice view. The bad: Extremely firm bed, could feel the springs through. The place is a bit worn, and refurbishment was going on while we were there (noise). Images of the garden taken with wide angle lens - much smaller that it appears in the pictures. Breakfast was plain, but tasty. Gym was tiny, but equipment good. Poor ventilation, unless you open the sliding door. Bit musty. The ugly: The pool. No circulation or filtration, shallow, narrow. More of a decorative piece in the garden than a serious pool to swim in.

The bedroom window did not have a net so we had to keep the curtains drawn all day so the people in the neigbouring property do not look into the room. The breakfast was cold,no food warmers,and lacked variety. The bar lacked the local beer we wanted (tusker malt) so we had to settle for something else. The Television in the room was not working; according to the receptionist, the technician went away for xmas so it was a general fault...mind you we stayed on 6th January, 2 weeks after xmas.
