The room is big enough, the hot spring is quite comfortable, and dinner is provided. The environment is not bad.

Although it is a bit old-fashioned, the service is attentive and the hot spring is very comfortable. It is just a bit cold on the mountain and the breakfast is limited.

Booked based on good reviews but was disappointed. The room is cold, the refrigerator is not cold, the amenities are not good, The comforter is thin and cold, so I can't sleep I feel like I'm hiding the hotel in the old building, appealing only to new people Not enough variety of breakfast for the price too many things to regret The omelet was just delicious! ️

This hotel is on beautiful grounds but once you go inside it’s terrible. The overwhelming musty smell was awful, everyone on our tour commented on the musty smell. My room had a large water stain on the ceiling. The buffet dinner looked good but everything was ice cold. The only good thing was the sashimi. The beds were uncomfortable and the whole place needs a serious remodel. Staff was nice for hotel, but seemed short staffed in dining room where you have to bus your own tables.

It wasn't our first time here as we usually stay when visiting the Kakegawa Kachoen, which is amazing. The hotel seems much more tired than last time, possibly the covid restrictions have been especially hard on Tsumagoi. It was busy, lots of families. Just seems worn out this time. The pool was closed, the activities as restricted and close early. The game center sucks. No ping pong or other things to have fun before or after dinner. Everything is closed. The outside onsen seemed less nice than last time. Also they don't provide towels, or anything. No illumination event anymore. As for the buffet, the quality seems to have dipped. Staff member are very nice. Windows in the room are very big, which is great. Just be careful at night or early morning...people outside can see well. Oh well. I wish them luck. It is a great place with huge potential, but I assume cost cutting is taking a toll on the quality.

We stayed in a deluxe room in the South Wing as a family of three with an elementary school child. The exterior and interior had the atmosphere of an old-fashioned resort from the Showa era, but if you don't mind that, I think it's a great place. The room was very spacious, with four beds and a sofa set, so we were able to relax comfortably. The windows were large and open. The place was cleaned well, but the furniture was old and the atmosphere was far from that of a resort. We used the hot spring facility "Shinrin no Yu" on the premises. There were many small baths both indoors and outdoors, which we enjoyed. However, they also offer day-use bathing, so it was quite crowded and we didn't feel like we could relax very much. The food was buffet style, and the selection was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. It's amazing that you can eat all you want of crab and eel. However, you should not expect too much from the taste of the eel, regardless of the crab. There are many other delicious dishes besides crab and eel, and we couldn't try them all in one night. I don't think you'll get bored even if you stay for several nights. Tsumagoi Resort offers a wide range of activities, including horse riding, treasure hunting, and kick scooter rentals, which the kids loved. The site was large, so we were glad we rented a cart to get around. It was a very fun resort for kids, but for adults it was a bit old-fashioned with a Showa-era feel. However, the price was very reasonable (just under 30,000 yen for a family of three with two meals), so for the price and the variety of activities, it's definitely 5 stars.

The female staff member in charge of archery from 2pm on August 12, 2024 was very kind to the children, and even a first grade girl was able to hit the target from the same distance as an adult. She also took care of my injured arm, which was very good. I gave it a 5-point rating because the staff was very high quality.

The hotel is located on a very large site. At the entrance gate, we received an explanation and a map of the site, then headed to the check-in building. After checking in, we received a room key, a ticket for Shinrin-no-Yu, dinner and breakfast tickets, etc. at the front desk, and drove our car to the hotel building where we were staying and entered our room. Since Shinrin-no-Yu is open from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., we decided to hurry up and check the bus schedule. (There are 2-4 buses on the site per hour.) We had just left. They said it was a few minutes on foot, so when we looked outside, we saw a sign that said Shinrin-no-Yu with an arrow. We decided to go. We walked down the corridor and went down a few stairs and arrived. About 3 minutes? It was faster than waiting for the bus for 15 minutes!! On the way back, we took the bus. There were several baths, so it was very warm. The facility was also nice and clean. The food was as shown in the photos on the hotel's website. I thought there was some kind of ○○ fair, but I didn't notice it. The breakfast was average. Is that why there is no particular mention of it on the website? The dining area is large, so it was nearly full for both dinner and breakfast, but it wasn't so crowded that you had to wait to get your food, so I didn't feel stressed. I couldn't adjust the temperature in the room well, so it was hot at night. The bed was very hard, and I woke up many times. So, when I woke up in the morning, I thought I'd take a bath, but the forest bath was closed, and the garden view bath in the building was also closed. I couldn't take a bath in the morning. I had no choice but to use the bath in my room. I was worried because there wasn't enough water in the sink, but the bath was separate and had enough water, and I was able to fill it up in no time. (lol) I wish I had looked into the beds and hot springs a little more, since I was going to the dog run and eat.
