Rainbow Sakurajima

The room was very relaxing, and the quality of the hot spring water seemed to help with my rough skin. I was a little hectic, but I would have liked to spend more time in the room watching the ferries. The hotel also had small, medium and large sizes of room wear prepared in the room, but they prepared smaller sizes for us, a small family, which I thought was very kind. Even if you are staying without meals, there is an A-Coop nearby, so it is quite easy to get foods from Kagoshima such as amberjack (sashimi). I bought Chiran tea there as a souvenir. The only really disappointing thing is the laundry facilities. Both the washing machine and dryer are cheap at 100 yen per use (paid at the hot spring reception), but they are just ordinary appliances, and the dryer cost 200 yen, and even after running it for almost an hour, it was not completely dry, and I was told that it cannot be run for more than an hour, so I had no choice but to leave it half-dry. I don't mind the price being higher, but I wish they would consider installing a commercial washer-dryer. But other than that, I really, really liked it. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the Sakurajima ferry dock. It is located in front of the sea, so you can enjoy an open view, and hot springs are also available in the annex next to it. It's a good choice if you're staying in Sakurajima.

The hot spring is really good, and the food is good. The amberjack sashimi is really delicious. The cost performance is good, although the prices are high. It's a shame compared to luxury hotels. For a national lodging facility, the cost performance, food, and hot springs are good. The restaurant staff are also friendly. The refrigerator in the room doesn't cool well, so it's better than nothing.

I stayed alone in a twin room. It wasn't luxurious, but the room was spacious and the bathroom had a washing area, so it was comfortable. The food was also delicious.

I stayed here for two nights during the long weekend. I made a reservation from the website with a plan that includes two meals. The price was not expensive for the long weekend, so I did not expect much from the "Sakurajima Gozen" meal, but it was not so poor, it was delicious, and I was full. The restaurant staff and the front desk staff were kind, and I had a pleasant stay, but there was one thing. I told the staff (old lady) at the large bath that I would use the washing machine next to the large bath at night, and paid 100 yen to wash my clothes. At that time, the dryer was in use and running, but since it was 100 yen for 30 minutes, I thought it would be finished by the time I finished washing, so I started washing. After 30 minutes, the laundry was finished, so I came out of the room and the dryer was still running. It was a dryer like the ones you have at home, and there was no indication of "how many minutes left," so I didn't know when it would finish. When I asked the old lady staff, "How long will it take to finish?", she said, "I don't know," and "It's faster to dry it in the room than in the machine." I waited for a while, but there was no sign of it stopping. Since I was leaving tomorrow, I had no choice but to dry it in the dryer, so I waited. The old lady staff should receive money from people who use the washing machine and dryer, and it would be good if she kept track of what time they were used, but she didn't seem to care, and she was hard of hearing and couldn't answer properly, so it was a bit... I felt that it was a bit strange. In the end, the dryer ran for an hour, and someone said, "It's time, so I came to pick it up," and I don't know if they were a customer or a staff member, but the dryer was free before 10 p.m. Someone came to do laundry during that time, but it seemed like they were a staff member. Since it's not a coin-operated washing machine or dryer, I don't know when it will finish, and it doesn't seem like the fees are properly managed, so I thought it might be better not to use it because it's a hassle.
