My recent stay at the Jack Rose Hotel left much to be desired, to say the least. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment that followed me throughout my entire stay. Let's start with the room. Upon entering, I was greeted by a stale odor that lingered throughout the duration of my stay. The furnishings were outdated and worn, giving the impression that the room hadn't seen an upgrade in decades. The bed was uncomfortable, with lumpy pillows and scratchy sheets that made it difficult to get a decent night's sleep. The cleanliness of the room was also subpar. I found dust collecting in corners, and the bathroom was in desperate need of a deep clean. It was evident that the housekeeping staff had not paid much attention to detail, leaving me feeling uneasy about the overall hygiene standards of the hotel. Next, let's talk about the amenities—or lack thereof. The "bar" was poorly stocked and understaffed, leaving guests waiting for extended periods to be served. To make matters worse, the customer service was severely lacking. The staff seemed disinterested and indifferent to guests' needs, offering little to no assistance when called upon. It was as if they were going through the motions without any genuine care for guest satisfaction. Even the so called General Manager Ian Coetzee was dismissive, and told us if we don't like it, we can hit the road - Jack! Finally, let's touch on the dining experience. The on-site restaurant boasted of offering "culinary delights," but the reality fell far short of expectations. The food was mediocre at best, with bland flavors and overpriced menu items that left me feeling unsatisfied. Overall, my stay at the Jack Rose Hotel was a disappointment from start to finish. From the lackluster accommodations to the dismal customer service, it's safe to say that I won't be returning anytime soon. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a truly enjoyable hotel experience.
