It was very pleasant. The service was nice and friendly staff. Though the location is a bit dogdy if you don't know the place.

Convenient hotel with safe parking.
Unfortunately the room was noisy due to outdoor building noise.
Passageways were being painted during the day and smell of paint was unpleasant.
This is my second time returning to the hotel after my first trip. They remembered my name as I arrived which shows great attention to detail with customer care. I upgraded to the suite for this particular visit and honestly it was a great decision. Look forward to visiting them again when I go back to South Africa in a year’s time.

The Courtyard Hotel was a great place to stay during our time in Johannesburg. We booked the suite for 4 people and there was plenty of space for all of us to keep our stuff and even a small kitchenette. There was round the clock security and a gate which made us feel safe and secure. In addition the staff was very helpful and attentive.

The service was great. Front desk staff are super friendly and were very helpful throughout. Based in the perfect location with almost everything just a walk away - very convenient. The actual apartment was great too. Very comfortable and worth the stay.

Outstanding
DDamohaoqingjianghuxingThe room was relatively clean. The black uncles downstairs were quite humorous and enthusiastic. They were the kind of strong men that people didn't fear. The food was not good, especially the dinner, which was the same for a hundred years. I couldn't stand it after eating several meals. It was nice to sit outside on the balcony on the 3rd floor and just stare blankly.
TTrevor_PilotVery disappointed after our stay at The DaVinci Hotel.
I was thoroughly looking forward to this stay as I have not stayed in this hotel before and it had been on my list, check in took quite long, which didn't bother me initially but ended up being a compounding factor after everything else, we had booked online and it took close to an hour for us to get checked in and given our room key, we used this time to look around.
When we finally got to our room, we quickly left everything and went to the mall then had dinner, we got back relatively late and only upon getting back did we notice the bed was 2 single beds pushed together, however we booked and paid for a delux king room, needless to say I spent the duration of the evening falling through the 2 beds as I was trying to cuddle my lady, so I didn't get much sleep to say the least.
When we got up in the morning I quite badly needed a coffee to wake me up after the night I had and Lo and behold, the coffee machine was not working!
By this point you can imagine the frustration.. so we got dressed and went down for breakfast, the process of simply getting a coffee took close to 40 minutes, let alone the food arriving! We actually ended up getting up and leaving because we had plans for the day and did not expect to wait over an hour for our breakfast to arrive! The cold food that was available at the buffet was very dry as well but we scoffed it down and went on our way, it was only while we were walking out that the juice we ordered when we arrived was beginning to make its way to our table, so we were given the bottle and we went on our way
We mentioned the incorrect room as well as the coffee machine to the lady at the checkout desk, to which I was reassured that next time we stay it will be nice
I can very confidently confirm that there will not be a next time from us, as we do expect a certain service when checking into a 5 star hotel and paying the price that comes along with it
On a positive note, the concierge was helpful with taking our luggage to the room
Such a pity for a lovely perfectly located place to put such little effort into the quality they provide
JJaikalaHotel is rated at 5star but the amenities are quite average. The standard king size room is smaller than I have experience in some other hotels if that range. You do not find water glasses in the room. Room service is very slow and sometimes your call will just keep transferring between room service and reception if you needed something. If you ordered food in your room, you have to make payment immediately. It does not amount up to check out. There is only one restaurant, one cafe in the hotel. You can walk up to nearest restaurant for your food that is 800m away.Pool is there but you have to carry your own towel. The day we arrived, there was a birthday party around the pool with loud music. We avoided going to pool side. Shoe shiner is in the lobby and if you get your shoes cleaned he needs to be paid as compliment and that complement begins with 100rand minimum. To me it’s an average hotel and ok for a couple of days. It had some conference going on so extra crowd was also in the lobby for the two days we stayed If you are looking for a luxery experience, better choose another hotel. This hotel is ok for not more than two days of stay.
KKAIKAIThe environment is very good, the decoration is actually okay, but after all, it can still be seen after a long time, and the health status is okay, that is, a pillow on the sofa is broken, and the pillows in the room for the 21st night after tax increase have to be used well Right. The service was very good. No matter whether the deposit was discussed during the check-in of the previous generation or later led to the room, it was very gentle and polite. Many people praised the delicious breakfast.
UUzanele_nI loved everything about this hotel. I got drinks menu on arrival which was served free of charge, wasn’t expecting that in South Africa🤪🤪
Check in was super quicknand smooth, beautiful room with proper amenities. The hotel is in a good location sorrounded by nature. The services was 10/10, with super friendly and helful staff. I was impressed by the breakfast options and the restaurant itself….stunning and aesthetically pleasing.
I didn’t like their cocktails menu🥺🥺 they don’t have classic ones. 90% of their cocktails are made with sminorf 18/18 which isn’t cool.
Overall, this is a great hotel and would definitely come back!
EEva KomanyanaLovely and clean. Staff very helpful and courteous. Offered hourly shuttle servises to the mall (at no extra charge). Only downside a bit noisy on one of the nights. Will be happy to come again.
GGuest User1. Great location and friendly staff.
2.
a. std room, no fridge or tea/coffee making.
b. room clean, quiet and serviced when req.
c. no room to keep suitcase open and limited hanging space.
d. mainly local TV programing except for ”BBC” channel which showed French TV, CNN appeared sometime late on day 2.
e. power load shedding meant TV had to be regularly reset by hotel maintenance.
f. breakfast choices reasonable (some supply issues)
g. went for dinner one night and around 80% of menu unavailable (supply issues again).
h. for reasons still unbeknown to me, prices were NOT displayed on the cafe menus.
Thirdly, if I was ever to return to JNB, I still may stay at Onomo, albeit in an upgraded room. Plenty of good eating nearby, particularly in the adjacent Nelson Mandela Square complex.
FFlorence MoyoWell, from what I booked, it was supposed to be a 2-bedroom apartment. However, I was given a 1bed (Room.303), and when I went down to enquire, the reception lady wasn't helpful and blamed it on the app. Then I had to ask for a wifi password, which I would have assumed you would be given at reception. I ordered something, and when I went down to get it, the same reception lady gave me a bit of attitude when asking her how to open the main door so I could collect. Now I'm not normally one to complain, but I guess she didn't realise she was dealing with a person who has worked over 15 years in reservations, and I am very much aware of how OTAs work. I am still very upset about the wrong room choice I was given and made to feel like I'm the one who made an error. Then there was NO iron and hairdryer in the room. Apparently, they don't have any available from what I gathered from the housekeeping lady.
Besides that, the housekeeping lady was exceptional, and the apartment was very clean upon check-in. Hopefullysomeone from the place will address these issues.
DDeborah-AnneI have stayed at the Quatermain before, and I am happy to say that the whole experience was once again just lovely! I had arrived VERY early on my check-in day and the staff made sure that I had a room well before the scheduled check-in time AND they upgraded me too!
The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and all round just a delight!! Even with the ongoing challenges that loadshedding (scheduled power outtages) brings to the smooth operation of any business.
The gardens are immaculate and tranquil, and it is unbelievable to think you are in the middle of everything with the peace and quiet that pervades.
The little bistro / restaurant's menu is thankfully limited, as it means that the quality can be assured and anything that is made tastes deliciously homemade. The evening buffet is very good value for money!
Just a small note that due to loadshedding, sometimes the email/booking system gives some issues - so don't forget to just follow up once booked :)
RRAUDALES BANEGASWe had a problem with the safe and they moved us immediately. The rooms are very large and comfortable. All the staff are very friendly and willing to help you with anything. They recommended a tourist tour and it was very good. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. They have shuttle service and they can take you anywhere for a reasonable price as well.
