The room was large and quiet. The front desk sent children's slippers, and the staff in charge of parking at the door was very enthusiastic. My children (18/16 yo) stayed at Pingyuan Mansion for two nights. Our taxi from the Pingyao railway dropped us at the South Gate of the city wall. He called the hotel, who sent a trolley to pick up as they were not allowed inside the city wall. It has two lovely courtyards. Our room had automations everything. Breakfast was amazing for those who like of varieties of small dishes. The staff made arrangements to drop us off the railway. It is only a few alleys away from the excitements of street vendors, music, sit down restaurants and shops. You wonβt be disappointed staying with them. Truly an authentic Pingyao stay.

The hotel is in a residential area, about ten minutes' drive from Pingyao Ancient City. There is a shuttle bus from Pingyao Ancient City at the door. It has no doors and is the kind of sightseeing bus used in scenic spots. According to the solicitors, it seems to be 10 yuan per person. It feels unsafe and I dare not sit on it.
Looking out from the hotel room, there is no scenery at all. It is all construction sites, and the parking lot has not yet been built. Various trucks carrying sand and gravel are moving gravel. When driving by, the soil is violent and the environment is extremely poor.
The room is relatively small, the bathroom is even smaller, and the shower is quite comfortable. The biggest complaint of this trip is about the breakfast. It seems that there are many kinds, but none of them are delicious. The noodle stall was not good, the stir-fried vegetables and fried rice were almost cold, and none of the fruits had any sweetness, they all felt terribly cold. The only delicious ones were the five-grain soy milk and the red date soy milk, which are worth recommending. I donβt know what was added to the corn juice, it doesnβt taste right. In short, I am very dissatisfied with this most expensive hotel in the whole trip. I feel that from the environment to the facilities to the service to the dishes, it has not reached the opening level. I originally booked this hotel just to have a hearty breakfast, but I didn't expect the quality to be so poor. . . I will never go there again. It would be more interesting to live in the ancient city and experience a more unique B&B.

Quiet in the middle of the hustle and bustle, clean and hygienic. With a child under one year old, I was particularly worried about poor hygiene, so I chose this hotel carefully. The house is quaint, said to be a 300-year-old house. The landlady upgraded the room with all disposable supplies. Most importantly, I donβt think itβs Chinese-style horror. We warmly contacted you for pick-up and drop-off the day before yesterday and provided full service. Friends with families can feel free to rush. The bossβs home also has travel photography, which takes place in the yard. Sisters who are afraid of social problems or have lazy husbands can make appointments. Pick-up at the entrance of the ancient city: Cars cannot enter the ancient city, and there are drivers to pick up luggage, which is convenient and hassle-free. Free Jinshang Young Lady Clothing Experience: My daughter and I took a travel photo of Jinshang Young Lady in the store, and gave a family photo with my son and husband. I had a very happy stay. It is worry-free and hassle-free to live in the city with children. It was a very good experience

The ancient courtyard is paved with ancient bricks, and the overall mortise and tenon structure highlights the characteristics of Pingyao Shanxi merchants' wealth and exquisiteness! The lights are bright at night, and it is very beautiful! The boss is a real Pingyao person. He will contact the guests as soon as possible, drive to the outside of the ancient city to pick up the guests in the store for free, and is the only boss who will introduce the knowledge of various attractions in Pingyao Ancient City in detail! Staying in his house will give you a detailed guide to visit the ancient city! From the five A-level attractions to the top three time-honored restaurants with the best price-performance ratio, they are introduced one by one, and the boss will remind you to take the exclusive meal discount card when you go out, which is very considerate! The proprietress is young, beautiful, meticulous and capable! Before leaving, I also gave a souvenir of Shanxi Laochen vinegar! His family's ground jar cellar 53 degrees must be tried, it is mellow and not heady! Laochen vinegar is even better! And his house is very, very close to the main street, South Street (city building), but it is not as noisy as the main street at night. It is a rare five-star inn! I will stay at his house next time I go to Pingyaoππ

GGuest UserThe owner of the B&B is very, very nice! When I arrived, he received me very warmly, gave me water, helped me plan the route to the scenic spots, recommended restaurants, and gave me coupons. I also bought cheaper tickets for βSee Pingyao Againβ through the owner. I wanted to go to Wang's Courtyard and arranged a car. The owner has always been very caring, really considerate, and a very sincere person!
The courtyard environment is very beautiful and unique. I took a lot of photos, which are very good. The room is clean and hygienic, with everything it should have, and it is very quiet. The location of the B&B is very close to the scenic spots, and it can be walked for a few minutes.
Originally planned to stay only one night, but the overall experience was so good that I decided to stay another night. Because of special reasons, I upgraded my room on the first night.
I strongly recommend everyone to come to Pingyao to experience the enthusiasm of Shanxi, and I will definitely come again if I have the chance in the future!

AArt13Great place in Pingyao. It is reasonably priced, a bit out of the very center (meaning also out of tourists crowds that can be quite noisy in the evenings and mornings), but still close, has same old-style design as the more popular and well-established places that cater to foreigners, but priced twice as much. Pick-up and drop off service is provided - just contact the hotel in advance via phone using the reception of tour previous hotel - no one speaks English - it will solve your communication issue if you do not speak Chinese. At the place itself everyone is very eager to help - use your phone app to translate. Onwer helped me to buy tickets to Pingyao attractions and Terracota Army as I was heading to Xian next (available only through WeChat Pay that is in turn is not availablefor foreign tourists as of April 2023). If you go to ShuanglinΒ temple, be sure to ask to buy tickets through WeChat for you as well. I was able to buy physical one by pure compassion of local guard who asked the staff to open ticket office just for me (Probably was the only foreigner in Pingyao at a time). Please also note that as of April 2023, the reconstruction works in the historical city parts are continuing, so, large chunks of the city within the walls are not looking as great as it could have been. The very center of the city is mostly untouched though and you can still come and explore. If going in spring, be prepared for the temperature swings. I got a temperature drop from 28C to 3C within 2 days by the moment I got to Pingyao. It was even snowing at night.

GGuest UserThe room is very clean and the sanitary conditions are very good. There are three of us living in a large kang room. The bed is very big and can be fully slept in. The interior of the inn has the atmosphere of Pingyao Ancient Town. Although the courtyard is small, it is exquisite. There are two courtyards. We lived in the second courtyard, which is relatively quiet. There is a small pavilion and swing at the door. You can drink tea and chat with your family and friends there in the summer evening, and bask in the moonlight. Hehehe, this is a nice place. experience.
This is my first time staying in a B&B like this. I have nothing to compare with, but this accommodation experience has given me confidence in B&B accommodation and I will continue to try it in the future.
The boss is very enthusiastic and will give each guest a small bottle of vinegar when he checks out. He tasted it when he came back and it tastes good. We left a thermos bottle at the hotel when we checked out. The boss called me to confirm and wanted to deliver it directly to my door. This was very impressive.

SSaucyIf you want to explore the ancient town of Pingyao, then this hotel is fantastic.
It's 15mins away from the high speed railway. They pick up and drop out off outside the city.
With the covid regulations in place, the hotel supported me through the process and helped me gain entry into the city. I was then collected and driven to the hotel.
Check-in was smooth and the lady helped me to book tickets for the Pingyao theatre show at the same time.
I received a free upgrade from a double room to a suite.
All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a great experience.

GGuest UserThe room is located in the south of Yamen Street, Buddhist Association Lane. It is very quiet at night! It is a two-story courtyard. Just look at the boxes in the room to see the age. It should be a historical building from the Qing Dynasty or earlier. There is a jujube tree in the courtyard. Occasionally, ripe red dates fall down, which are very sweet. The boss and the boss's wife are very enthusiastic! We took the wrong bus when we went there. We got off the bus from the north gate of the ancient city and walked a long way. The boss repeatedly asked why he didn't call? He went to pick us up. When we left, the boss drove us to the train station in person. During our stay, the boss's wife personally sent us a large bowl of millet porridge that she cooked herself, which warmed our stomachs and hearts.

We have not set off yet, the hotel has already begun to arrange our time, tell us which parking lot to park, and the battery car pick-up brother sent us to the hotel. The hotel is in the center of the scenic spot, and it is very convenient to go to any scenic spot. We arrived late and have not eaten yet. The hotel recommended several better restaurants in the scenic spot. We chose Hongwuji. There are coupons at the hotel, which is 30 yuan cheaper. The next day is breakfast included.
