Impression Shaxi meets all my imaginations of Youfeng Courtyard. You can't stop taking photos in the courtyard without leaving your home. The boss is warm and considerate, and the room is clean and comfortable. The old house was renovated, with a very design sense. All the wooden furniture introduced by the boss was collected, and the doors were all old objects. The store owner was responsive to every request. My daughter wanted to travel and take photos, and the elderly wanted to enjoy wild mushrooms, and they were all met one by one. The geographical location is excellent. The car can be driven directly to the back door, and the front door is 100 meters away from the pedestrian street of the ancient town, which is quite convenient. It is very close to the ancient theater, Yujin Bridge, Youfeng Cafe and other check-in scenic spots. The breakfast is very appetizing, and the fresh milk is a thumbs up 👍, which is highly recommended.

A delightful inn with a beautiful courtyard full of blooms, greens and some fishes. The 4 of us were lucky to be there in April being the flowering season. Cosy outdoor areas to enjoy the environment and weather and snacks. Lovely mountain views from the top gazebo. Great location in a quiet area with comfy room and amenities [heated toilet seat too]. Friendly and courteous staff. Warm milk for the night too. Highly recommend this place. Short walk to the ancient town to Yujin Bridge, shops, eating places, canola fields and lotus ponds. Flowers blooming everywhere -- delights the heart!

quaint guest house that is run by a retired HK couple, they provided the warmest welcome during our entire trip, and we felt so at home! we spend quite a while chatting with Ms May and her husband and enjoyed the exchange. facilities are homely and basic, with a lovely garden and a kids play area. total of 8 rooms. shaxi ancient town is such a gem, quaint, quiet and is a place where you can really slow down your pace to appreciate what yunnan china is like. spend your time wandering around shaxi ancient town, it’s small (1 hour exploration) but definitely take the time to sit with a cup of coffee or a book. take the yellow taxi (electric buggy) to explore the various smaller towns that surround shaxi. there are appx 7 smaller towns, each with its own charm… we only had time to explore beilongchun, where the pace of life is slow, quiet and healing. the higher you hike, the views are very different! some places to check out: - shaxi avant garde book shop u - universal bakery (alien mascot bakery that sells sourdough, hard crust bread) - bailong tan (small lake) - 山风院子 which has a tree house and a mini cafe - shaxi tea horse museum - old stone bridge, in the afternoon an elderly couple would be there with their goats and you can buy goat milk or take photos. - shaxi friday market!!!

This inn is very cost-effective. Although the yard is not big, the sun shines brightly every day. It is exactly as the netizen said, it is quiet in the bustle, and you can reach the bustling part of the ancient town within a few steps of the inn. The boss and his wife run the hotel with care. The hotel's supplies are of very high quality and the hygiene is very clean. They also thoughtfully provided hand cream, facial masks, and eye masks. The breakfast included sandwiches, rice noodles, coffee, and milk, which was very good. The proprietress personally came to the parking lot to greet me and gave me two days' parking fee, which was very warm. The view coffee and Xibao Shangfan recommended by the proprietress are both very good and worth a visit. If I come again next time, I will still stay at his place.

Shaxi Yishu Inn is next to the Internet-famous ancient tree where people take photos and check in. It is full of vitality and popularity. The location is easy to find. It is a pleasant, comfortable, quiet and childlike inn with a beautiful, spacious and bright courtyard full of pomegranate and pear fruit trees and green plants. We are four adults and two children. We are lucky to catch up with the mushroom picking season. We can ask the owner for the contact information of locals to take mushroom picking in the mountains and experience the fun of picking fresh mushrooms. The comfortable outdoor area allows you to enjoy the environment and weather, as well as local food and snacks. From the roof at the top, you can overlook the beautiful scenery of the town. The location is great, in a quiet area, the room is very comfortable, very quiet at night and the temperature is suitable. The sleep quality is super good after walking around during the day, and there is also the music of crickets. The facilities are complete, the friendly inn staff are also very tolerant of our two naughty children, and the communication is intimate. The hall is open with a screen TV, gathering big and small friends who watch cartoons. The breakfast in the morning is varied, with local sweet corn, hot and sour pork shreds, eight-treasure porridge, fried dough sticks, boiled eggs, etc. This inn is highly recommended. You can walk to the ancient town, where there are Yujin Bridge, various shops, local restaurants, sunflower fields and ecological ducks, horseback riding, small bridges and flowing water, barefoot paddling in the water, drinking freshly squeezed goat milk, local green and purple grapes, unwaxed sweet and sour apples. There are large blooming sunflower plates everywhere - it's really beautiful! Finally, I took away the fresh charcoal-grilled white cakes, flower cakes, ham cakes, restaurant-dried large bacon, and fresh mushrooms packaged by SF Express from Shaxi Ancient Town. This trip was very pleasant, and I will come again with my family next time!

This little gem is 5 min walk away from the old city, along the river. You can reach the famous bridge following the river, a nice stroll away from the crowd. The rooms are truly beautiful and the overall atmosphere is peaceful, even with kids around. It’s well decorated and very high quality furniture and bedding. We arrived earlier than the check-in time but they welcomed us with tea, fruits and snacks. They provide also a « shuttle » to go to the old town and pick you up anywhere in the old town maximum 20min after sending a message. The Chinese breakfast was different everyday and delicious. One day we left early and they gave us some part of the breakfast to go. We wanted to ride bicycles and they sent us a contact and location to get them. Same for a driver to go to the mountain. They are all the kindest people. We really recommend this place.

The check-in experience is very satisfactory. The location is very easy to find, just near Beizhaimen. There is also a popular cat soy milk to welcome you. It is very close to every corner of Shaxi. It can be reached in a few minutes on foot. Shaxi is very beautiful this month, and there are not many people. The experience of playing is very good. It is a place that can be visited twice or three times. I will stay here again. Environment: Courtyard-style inn, the flowers and plants in the yard are very beautiful, and there are rocking chairs to sit on and rest for a day. It is very comfortable. There is also a table on the roof of the third floor. It is very comfortable to buy some midnight snacks and sit on it to eat and drink in the wind. Hygiene: The room is very tidy and clean, and the bedding is also comfortable. I usually can't sleep easily when I go to unfamiliar places, but this situation does not happen here. I sleep very well. The shampoo and shower gel are also selected by the owner and are also very easy to use. Facilities: Both the room and the lobby are fully equipped, and you don't need to buy extra bags to check in. Service: The boss is approachable and enthusiastic. They are all young people and they can talk to each other. If you have any questions or needs, you can directly ask the boss and he will answer them.

To start with, Shaxi is such a precious jewel. The historic preservation collaboration between ETH and Chinese scholars and the locals is impressive. The harmony formed by the nature and the man-made environment is incredible. We wish we had more time to stay and dive deeper. And we absolutely loved our stay at the Flower Inn. It’s really close to the core of the town yet very quiet and peaceful. The garden is meticulously cared for. The most special is an impressive 2-story library housing the owners’ personal book collections. They recently opened the library to the community a few days a week - a generous way to share knowledge and wisdom, and bring the community closer together. The owners are very warm, interested in making friends and sharing their experience. I really enjoyed an evening chat with them and listening to the stories about the town’s history, preservation, local lifestyles and much more. We would love to come back to Shaxi in the future and stay at the Flower Inn again.

My favorite place during this self-driving tour in Yunnan is Shaxi Ancient Town. It is quieter than Dali. Most tourists travel during the day. Shaxi is still very comfortable at night, so I stayed in Shaxi for 4 days and chose Fanghe Inn to experience Traditional wooden houses. The inn is not located on the main street. The street is relatively narrow, not crowded and quiet. There is no charge for self-driving parking, but please note that you need to contact the landlord in advance to confirm the parking location. The inn is a quadrangle with two floors. There are not many rooms. There are no screen windows or air conditioning in the room. If you mind, be careful. When we went, the weather was very cool and we had to cover ourselves with quilts at night. There were mosquitoes, but not many. The room came with mosquito repellent and mosquito coils. Shaxi is relatively humid on rainy days, as is the interior of the room. Prices are not low during peak periods, and the overall value for money is average. However, the owner of the B&B has a very good service attitude. The children like to eat sandwiches, and they have extra breakfast for the children. The burgers at the restaurant next door were also delicious. I ate them twice in four days.
