Friendly hosts allowed me to check-in earlier. Shaxi is small so basically walking distance to anywhere."

"This homestay run by a leave in the family, and they go all out to make our stay comfortable. They can help you to book sharing a car to Dali or Lijiang at a very reasonable price. The homestay is just 2 mins walk from the taxi drop-off point, and you dont need to drag your luggage too far on the rubble road. Do note that inside the old town, vehicles are not allowed. The market and food stall is just 2 mins walk away, and you can find plenty of local food for breakfast and lunch. Next to the homestay you can find a cafe which serves good americano for just RMB9.90. Highly recommended to stay in this homestay."

"The location is very good, the front door is about 20 meters from the parking lot, the back door is about 20 meters from Sideng Street, and supermarkets and restaurants are very close. I went to Shaxi to experience the local culture and customs, so I loved this courtyard-style B&B, built in the style of traditional Bai ethnic minority dwellings! This local couple runs a local business, a place that doubles as a guesthouse and home. The owner and hostess were incredibly welcoming, helping with our luggage and asking about our well-being. It felt like home. They even have a cute and affectionate Border Collie who plays Frisbee with guests! The best part about the inn is the tranquil environment, with gurgling water, chirping birds, and fragrant flowers—it's so relaxing! You could always see the hostess busy cleaning and putting things away, and the cleanliness was impeccable! There's also their own parking lot right outside the door, a laundry terrace, and an audio-visual entertainment room—everything is included. Overall, for this price range, this inn is absolutely highly recommended!"

"I was in this Hotel for a few days and would have stayed longer if I wouldn't had the flight back right after my stay there. This was the place I was looking for to calm down and get some peace. The Hotel is very peaceful and if you want to go for a hike in the mountains I can really recommend. And definitely drink some tea with owner ;) It's really good."
