Absolutely shocking hotel,one of the worst iv stayed at! Don’t be fooled by the 4.2 rating or the pictures on there site. Not one staff member was helpful unless your Spanish.The staff treat the Spanish completely different to us English. if you ask for any kind of help they look at you in disgust, also trying to get a drink in a all inclusive bar is a no no.they just act like they don’t know what your saying yet they speak very fluent English.horrible attitude on them. Went down to the pool to get a seat at 630am everyday as by 7-8am latest they are all gone. Rule states 30 mins non attendance your towel will be removed yet we wasn’t even 20 mins come back and our beds are taken and given to Spanish people.i literally watched the pool guy take 6 English people’s seats and give them to Spanish people.Shame on you’s! the staff saying we was over a hour..we only went to the toilet absolute joke of a hotel. No where near enough pool seats for the amount of people here!!! two people on reception.states WiFi yet this didn’t work one day,this hotel is a joke. 4 stars? More like 1-2 at a push! This hotel needs reviewing by a professional.the health and safety is non existent it’s absolutely shocking this place should not allow kids to stay here with how unsafe it is sellotape on the floor covering cracks tiles! I wouldn’t stay here again if they gave me it for free! The place is shocking! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! Iv never written a bad review to this extent but this hotel needs it for there such bad customer service and how they talk to you is appalling this was like one of those holidays from hell!

We have stayed in this hotel on several occasions before and have always enjoyed our stays. The food is good, the staff are brilliant, especially, on this visit, Daniel and Gennifer in the buffet Atlantico and Marianne on the Royal level reception. All the staff are helpful, friendly and efficient in keeping the hotel exceptionally clean and comfortable. The rooms are a good size, the sea view rooms have incredible views over the very impressive nearby beach and the beds are comfortable. We have reserved a suite for this coming September and look forward very much to our next stay

The Royal Level adults-only section is clean and sufficiently exclusive. The cocktail bar is very good and the barmen really do know how to mix a cocktail from a reasonably large selection. Full marks. A reasonable choice of branded spirits and beer is included in the AI package, which makes a change. Well done Occidental for this. The Royal Level restaurant is clean, nicely laid out, staff are superb, engaging and always cheerful. Top marks! The food is, perhaps, a little repetitive (a variation in the salad would be nice) although the main dishes are not as varied as the adjoining main hotel’s buffet, but the choice is still sufficient. House wine is like most hotel house wine - just ok. Prosecco is lovely, the rosé very drinkable, red is pleasant but the white will remove your fillings. 3/4 ain’t bad. Bedrooms are big, airy, air conditioning is excellent, massive super king size bed, comfy pillows and comfy mattress (but it has a waterproof undersheet which makes you sweaty). Bathroom is spacious with a full bath tub (not big enough for two, however ) and two shower heads. WiFi in the room was good but out in the pool area it would not connect properly. Pools are great and the large bubble pool is heated. Well done for this! Sun beds have proper, comfortable cushions which the staff wipe down each day. The pool area faces south-east which means you get the morning sun but by 5pm the sun has gone behind the hotel and the pool area is in shade. Cabanas are ok but you can’t fully sit up, consequently most people bag a cabana and two adjacent sun beds. Greedy. Bed hogging wasn’t too bad in early May but in peak season you’d need to be out by 8am. The bar staff occasionally walk round with cocktails or iced drinks. A nice touch. But - and this is a big BUT - the piped music around the pool and in the restaurant is excruciatingly tedious! Guests should start a GoFundMe to buy another CD because it sounds like the hotel can only afford one CD, and it’s on continuous repeat, every hour, every day, every week….. If I hear DredStudio’s “Spanish Guitar Themes” ever again I will return in the afterlife to haunt the hotel management until judgement day. Many complaints but no action. For goodness sake, Barcelo and Occidental, put some effort into your playlist! It’s not difficult. To be subjected to the same 10 “jolly rhumba guitar tracks” over and over again whilst relaxing by the pool is pure water torture (which, I should remind you, is banned by the UN as a cruel and unusual punishment, but apparently not at the Occidental Jandia Royal Level). Apart from that, we’d happily come back again, this one of the nicest all inclusive Adult only resorts we’ve visited (good attention to detail, clean, great staff) … but only if the music has changed. Nearly 5 stars.

Just came back from a much needed break, and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The welcome from Marianna on the royal reception was fab, she explained everything we needed to know, and even showed us to our room. There was no need to rush for a bed at the pool, as there is plenty of space, with a quiet and calm atmosphere. The room was spotlessly clean, and we had a lovely view, as per the photos. I have to say I do agree with the previous comment, the decking around the pool area definitely looked like it was in need of repair, but would not put us off returning. We had some great meals at the a la carte, with very professional and attentive staff. overall we had a superb holiday and would certainly consider coming back again.

We booked our stay few months ago basing on localisation by Jandia beach, reviews and also our amazing experience we had from our last year holidays at Barceló Tenerife- that time we were guests of 5* hotel AI however not Royal Level. We decided this year to go for RL experience as we regretted last year we did not went to upgrade. No words to describe our dissatisfaction. Barceló Tenerife was worth every penny we paid for our stay, however we can not say same about our stay at Occidental Royal Level at Fuerteventura, very disappointed. Service- communication, language barrier-not many employee’s speak English - this brings miss understanding and poor service at the end…. For example Problem to order coffee with alternative milk or any type of eggs like scramble eggs. When asking for coffee sachets housekeeping they asking to call reception, once they have that on trolley. Cleaning - in the restaurant - morning buffet - been a first person for breakfast, seen dirty tongs in use from the day before (dinner) with sauces on it. Food overall really good, sometimes to salty and oily however many choices of meat and fish. Good to see hotel working toward waste not idea, however serving 3 times a day same cheese from morning, lunch and dinner with visible time marked on them it is something not good. Not enough people to serve, waiting time for drinks and take away dirty plates. Waitress in la carte restaurant did not informed us wine will be extra charged. Once we check out we have been asked to pay bill, when I mention that to receptionist she got offended, left us by RL reception desk saying she will be back in the moment - she brought from main reception documents to prove us wrong, showing us we have been charged by restaurant and my partner signed that bill- showing aggressively (finger pointing ) signature, while there was no price on that bill and my partner was not even knowing what he is signing. Also was not only us who got surprised by signing something before leaving la carte restaurant that evening. Our mistake we did not double check that. Receptionist had no understanding and got very quickly impolite. Once I mentioned I will formally complain she said “no problem, do it” wow wow wow I Have never experience poor service like that especially for Barceló group which keeps high standards of service - as I mentioned we stayed in other hotel of Barceló group in Tenerife and we were extremely happy with our stay. I explained the lady that our complain is general complain not only regarding bill, but also other points mention above, adding another point that we were not informed once check in that terrace on RL with another pool and jacuzzi is out of order due renovation and that we might Experience noise. Lady said it is not their fault- this should be done by EasyJet- and this is their problem. Which I do not agree, yes they could inform us before arriving, however I strongly believe person who is checking in should double check if guests kno

Just returned from our 4th visit to Occidental Jandia Royal Level. When we arrived we had a warm welcome from David and a welcome drink while he checked us in. Once checked in we were guided to our deluxe sea view room which was very clean, with a well stocked minibar. The pool area was very clean with plenty of sun lounger’s, and very peaceful. Pool bar served a wide range of cocktails and branded drinks. Buffet restaurant had a very good range of food with plenty of hot & cold options, plus freshly cooked meats & fishes. The A’La Cart restaurant was amazing, serving over 5 nights a set themed menu. All the bar and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Daniel, Ishmael, Christian, and Mark. A special thank you to Marianna for another perfect stay. We will be returning for our 5th visit in 2026 😁😁😎
