The front of the hotel can be misleading, as the hotel is actually quite nice. The rooms are pretty good. The pool area is large and well designed, and have a bar right there. A lot of the rooms have view to the pool. The tennis/basketball/indoor soccer field is great, with roof. They have pool tables, table tennis and foosball. The restaurant is 24/7, which comes in very handy, and also adds the advantageof not being tied to a specific schedule for the free breakfast that's included. Parking can be a little confusing at first, but it's actually close to the rooms (I would improve it by addign signs on the road indicating how to get to the parking lot).

Had a wonderful stay at Selina Jaco. Even with a shared bathroom between 4 rooms, we never encountered an issue as far as waiting on anyone to use the facilities. The pool, the bar, the beach, the vibes were all on point. Everyone was so friendly, staff and other travelers alike. It was nice talking to people from other walks and places of life. I loved every minute of our stay here, and will recommend this hostel to anyone! Hopefully we'll get back there next year! Pura Vida!

The hotel and Staff, excepting the bookkeeping/ management. were great. My complaint is the hotels cancellation of reservations for 4 rooms for 10 days were made on July 12, 2024 through Expedia/AARP. First day payment for the rooms was credited that day. Final payment was scheduled for check in on February 10. On February 9, the hotel cancelled the reservation for nonpayment, 24 hours before we could check in. They said all payments would be refunded. No reason was given for cancellation for nonpayment before the payment was due or why they had money to refund. Communications was extremely poor. I got different stories from 3 people. I was finally told they would hold 4 rooms. They said they would call or email, then I got a WhatsApp message (Luckly I have WhatsApp on my phone) that a colleague was wrong and they would cancel if we were not there by 3 pm, this was after I had offered many times during our conversations to pay the entire amount over the phone and was told it was not necessary. Good news was they had 4 rooms when we got there. The manager's response to the early without notification cancellation was indifference. Her response was if they owed us any money it would be refunded. Np apology or concern that the anxiety of not having rooms for 7 people for 10 days ruined 2 days of my vacation.

We spent 4 nights at Villa Caletas for our daughter’s wedding. The hotel was lovely. The setting and the views were amazing! Our standard deluxe room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and large bathroom. The dinners provided for the wedding were wonderful and beautifully served. The infinity pool was refreshing without being cold. And the menu for snacks and lunch poolside had something for everyone’s taste. Yario took good care of all of us at the pool. All of the staff were caring and professional. We took a couple Uber rides into Jaco which was fun and reasonably priced. The wildlife around the hotel was amazing! Macaws, toucans, monkeys were seen by all of our group. Truly a magical place.

GGuest UserBeautiful resort with warm pool, clean beaches, and good service. The food has been very good with extra points to the coffee cafe. Considering it’s the off season, we had plenty of open space to ourselves with beautiful weather. The promotional plan they offered was not well executed, and we had to make several trips to the front desk to get it cleared up. But everyone was very accommodating to help.

SSoph851I have been to this hotel many many years again when it was under a different name/ management. Several things have changed. There no longer is a restaurant or bar at the hotel. So adding breakfast to your stay isn’t an option. Close by is downtown Jaco and we had a car so that wasn’t a problem at all for us but I think other visitors need to keep this mind. Also must bring all toiletries. I’m used to a maid service everyday at the hotels I usually stay at but I think to cutt down on costs. I didn’t mind , but again heads up. Yes the hotel perhaps is past it’s prime and a few things in the room look a bit worn down but considering the very budget price you are paying it’s all good. Everything seemed very clean and I care more about that than a decent paint job. The property has 2 large pools and two children’s pools that are disturbed throughout the property and direct connection to the beach in front. Ample parking. With all the families and groups of friends staying around the pool with there loaded ice boxes with beers and stereos I honestly thought It was going to be hard to get a decent quiet night sleep presuming people would get rowdy. Wasn’t the case both nights we stayed there. Perhaps luck or the staff really makes sure everyone keeps the noise down after a certain hour.
