One of the few decent places left to book for the peak Chinese New Year period in Ipoh, realized that I stayed here before many years ago. Because of the high occupancy, there were insufficient car park in front of the hotel and we had to park outside the hotel compound along the road. Before our stay, the hotel emailed to inform that their water heating system was undergoing maintenance and there would be no hot water during our stay. Great timing… at least they did offer to accept cancellation or change of date. As the weather was rather hot, we did manage to survive with cold showers. The hotel seemed well-maintained, except the corridors - those do need some brush up. The room was spacious, despite having an extra bed. Room was basic and no frills, but they do have daily housekeeping which is good, unlike some hotels that used the pandemic as a reason for not providing the same. Centrally located in downtown Ipoh, pretty much everywhere in town is just a short drive away. However, there are not much in terms of convenience store or eateries in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, so you’ll need transport or brave enough for a long-ish walk. Considering the peak season, this was still an acceptable stay.

Location is good with lots of dimsum option nearby and a famous ayam tauge flat noodle stall nearby. Possible to walk to Ipoh parade mall in 5 mins too. Room is a bit old though renovated but still comfortable. I will say it is worth it for the price. Breakfast lacks variety so consider booking wiothout it since there are numerous dimsum nearby.

The room is spacious n nice. The lobby is smelly, I guess partly because of the kitchen and bathroom (super smelly) nearby. There’s a strong odour the moment you enter into the lobby. I hope there will be more regular cleaning n perhaps putting some freshener might help. The staff are not friendly at all, you can enter and go out of the hotel without anybody noticing. Perhaps staff can be trained to smile more n acknowledge the guests.

Parking are convenient with just a few step to Hotel main entrance. Great welcoming from front desk. Thanks to Christin Loh for time showing us the wonderful art on the lobby area. Few picture taken by us and family especially at one of the art with Harimau design wall. Enter the room with neat bed made up and clean environment. Warm and cozy design with black wall but brighten by light in the room. Entire one night stay was not enough will definitely came again for the next visit to Ipoh. Thanks Christin and Team.

The standard double room we had was very small with barely enough space on the floor for our bags. No wardrobe, just 3 hangers hanging over a counter. No drawers, just 2 side tables. No fridge but there was a safe. No coffee-making facilities but we were provided with 2 bottles of drinking water every day and there was a water dispenser near the lift for us to refill our bottles which was very appreciated. The room was clean and looked quite new. Comfortable bed. We like it that private parking is always available in the basement with a security guard (though he was absent from his post most of the time!) A lift is available in the basement to access the lobby and higher floors - we could only access our floor using our room access card - good security. A few restaurants and eateries nearby. Good for a short stay.

The hotel is quite new. Friendly reception and clean hotel. They do not have in-house restaurant, but they flanked by two nice cafe, a kopitiam style cafe and a fine dining restaurant.
Room were very clean. Love the fact that they provide bath robe. Nice interior design and decoration. An additional point is, they have a boutique located at the entrance. Those cotton clothes range from Japan and aromatherapy candle and essential oil must pay a visit to the boutique

Renovated room was clean and bright.
But the towel a bit dirty.
If you are driving, park your car for free in the basement. The security guards are very friendly, courteous, and helpful.
There do provide water dispenser but need to bring your own bottle.
Overall, I have an excellent time staying here. Recommended.

No one in reception make me stand outside of hotel. When I call the number in front of the door, the staff keep questioning weird things and say I didn’t make booking. After questioning 5 minutes, only the staff come out and open the door. In reception area, staff keep saying I didn’t book their hotel. After 20 minutes, only they find my booking in their computer. This is the staff mistake which she didn’t check my reservation properly, after this the staff didn’t say sorry about this. She just let me check in, then no even say sorry to me. So this is the way that This Hotel Staff treat their customer. Just like Their SOP is when see customer come 1st SOP = keep saying their customer no booking, 2nd SOP = let customer stand outside. 3rd SOP= let customer in but still say no booking. 4th SOP =After customer pissed off for being keep proofing they have booking, then only they find customer booking details in computer.

My experience about this hotel is that i will never forget the efficient service from all the staff starting from our check-in day.. The room is not so clean and needs to be improved. The thing that can be improved is the TV (upgrade ) and the corridor there needs to be vacuumed for cleaness. The breakfast area was soo good and there was lots of food variety.. We loved it and enjoyed the environment decoration with a classic Malay concept in the 1950~ .. And the last things before i forget to share please try the masala tea in the breakfast area this is for tea lovers..trust me!!! Superbbbbb!!! 👍🏼Overall is good..

MmuzaneeshahWe booked 2 deluxe rooms from the hotel website for 1 night. It cost only RM150/night. Located at Meru, nearby Jelapang (Ipoh North) a new township. Hotel is owned by the State Government. Pros: - Value for money - Adequate room space - Modern amenities & fittings in the room - Package include drive thru movie for guests - Night vibes outside : Roundabout - Still considered new & well maintained -Staff are attentive - Lot of parking space but shared with the convention centre. Please note the parking space are open. Cons: - Location - not in central Ipoh where all the vibes - 10-15 mins drive to town or Ipoh Garden /Bercham / Tambun - No facilities - swimming pool The room package comes with breakfast which you have to pre-select from the choices available.

KKinnie Konga great stay at Meru suites. huge rooms, friendly staff that will go the extra mile for a service for customers. great team, clean rooms as well. Quiet at night making it a wonderful stay.
Only downside is the location as it is situated a 15mins drive away from town, but for such a wonderful stay I would not mind to come back here again.

CCeciliaI have never felt so homely in a hotel. It has achieved its objective as per the name of the hotel. It's a super comfortable stay. We were so at peace in this hotel. We all rested well. The children had their space and we had ours. My husband loves the quiet surrounding. My children love the space design in the room. Each had their privacy. The wooden bathtub generated nice wood smell when filled up with warm water. The soak was comfortable and relaxing. The hotel staff provides good gentle service too. The spa saloon at MEEP level provides 5 stars service on facial and massage. We were impressed with such standard in Ipoh that can be on par with 5 stars hotel. We will surely come back again. The vegetarian food at the Ma Ma Kim restaurant was good too. We enjoyed our stay a lot. We will come back again when we visit our parents. Do up keep up the hotel environment and service. Good job!

GGuest UserThis is my honest review. 1. The room: It is clean and comfortable. Lighting could be better as its limited. Bathroom was very clean. Cons: Dressing mirror was dirty and also had a red 'bindi' that hindu females wear on their forehead. Clearly shows the mirror was not cleaned. 2. Price of the room: For its location, I personally feel that it is expensive. This is because for the same price I could get a better deal at 3 4 more hotels in Ipoh city centre which is closer to night live and entertainment. 3. Breakfast was ala carte not buffet. For the price we paid, i honestly expected buffet as that was what was offered in other premises. 4. Parking is available but keep in mind the hotel is part of a shop lot. So the parking is the normal shop lot parkings. 5. Facilities in the room: They do provide tooth brush, tooth paste, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Cons: There were hangers which im not sure if it belongs to the hotel as they were normal colorful hangers. 6. Customer service: Amazing staff. Very presentable.

GGuest Userwent here on early Feb 2023. I thought it was just a normal shop lot/budget hotel. However when i step in the lobby, i got shock with the interior & ambience, feels like in a 4 star hotel. The housekeeping staff name Hidayah really did a great job for do some room tour with us. she show us a few room type and explained every details & facilites in the hotel. the reception (Indian guy, cant remember his name) was very polite & helpful upon check in. This hotel has a live band every evening, free parking area for guest (but have to walk a bit), a nice and cozy restaurant & a small gym. the bed & pillow was so cozy, it has aircond & fan too! They provided USB charger as well in the room. The shower room was spacious and very clean. i would love to recomended this hotel to all if you all want to have a trip at IPOH!

GGuest UserThe room is just like the picture, very warm and clean. It doesn't get hot if the air conditioner is not turned on and the fan is turned on. Even before checking in, I sent an email to the store and called the Internet phone number left on Ctrip. There was no response. I could only contact Ctrip customer service. I was told that the store also contacted Ctrip to ask for our contact information. I don’t know why, but I left it online. What does information do? I feel that this is not very convenient. It is recommended that those checking in must contact us in advance, otherwise the check-in time will be delayed. If you drive by yourself, there are free parking spaces in the apartment building. Take the card given by the store and hold it up at the door, and it will automatically lift the parking lot. Many apartment hotels in Malaysia have similar operations. You just need to contact the store in advance via WeChat. They will send you a bunch of check-in information, but some of them are all in English.

GGuest UserStay here, don't look at the hotel facade,they have great rooms and very clean. The hotel is just 10 minutes flat walk from Ipoh train station, although it is in the residential area but all the intersting place are within walking distance such as Concubine lane just five minutes walk, the night market just five minutes walk, the memory lane was behind the hotel. The lobby is always locked and you feel secure. You need your keycard to access the lobby and lift. There are few sitting area in lobby but enough space. The second floor are breakfast area. The room was clean, and bright as there are lights everywhere. There is complimentary coffee and tea, fridge and safety box. The bathroom is quite big and the water power was strong with hot water run constantly. There is not place to eat surrounding the hotel area except KFC and Pizza Hut at the left side of hotel (2 minutes walk). If you walk across the street from the lobby into a small lane,you will reach a traditional kopitiam that have plenty of choice to eat,they start at 6 morning until night. The kopitiam has dim sum, seafood noodles, char kue tiau, popiah (night time). Minimarket 7 Eleven just beside the hotel. Considering the affordable price and very centrally located, this hotel is the best option to stay in Ipoh.

GGuest UserThe look and feel of Sarang Paloh is lovely. It has an old world style which we loved. The location is also great, ten minutes from the station and close to lots of restaurants and spots in the old town.
The room has a nice style to it as does the garden you walk through. The room facilities were lacking, with no fridge and no safe which we would expect at this price point. Hot water in the shower doesn’t last long and they provide a 3 in 1 body wash, shampoo and conditioner, again something we wouldn’t expect at this price point. The hotel also doesn’t offer room cleaning. This may have been because we stayed for two nights only but this is not communicated on the website or at check in. This meant used cups or water bottles aren’t cleared nor is the rubbish bin emptied. We were also not made aware of locally available discounts for staying at the hotel.
All in all an ok stay but several small things made this not value for the money we paid.

Hotel was repurposed from a old n dilapidated building. Internal industrial design added character. But the cleanliness wasn't up to mark. The room also smell of dank n sewer-ish smell and time.
Overall, for a 1 night driving stop over stay, it was adequate. But anymore would not suggest.

NNurasyikin ZI stayed at the Premier room (2 King beds). Everything looked okay at first, cleaned and spacious. Room was enough to fit 4 adults and 2 small kids at one time. But when i tried to use the tap and shower in the toilet, looks like the heater was not functioned. When i tried to use the standing shower, it got burst immediately and the tube spout connecting to the tap fell off. I had to use the shower near the bathtub instead. Then when my husband tried to use the electric kettle, boom, all power off due to power trip. We called up the reception and they sent a technician immediately, he was surprised to know that the wiring was not done correctly, and was not safe at all. Knowing that the wiring and shower work will take some time, and we couldn't be moved to another room due to unavailability. We had no choice but to leave the room because 1. my baby needs hot water for his milk, 2. we havent had dinner. We headed back to hotel right after dinner, and thank god they managed to complete all the work. Shower and wiring were fixed accordingly and the heater finally worked. Breakfast? The Chinese fried rice was very plain in taste. Even my 2 year old baby refused to eat it. Same goes to the rice porridge- tasteless. Fried meehoon was okay. I'd rather have a simple selection of tasty breakfast, rather than having a variety of food but tasteless. The only credits i would vie was to the front desk officer and technician. butI'm not recommending this hotel, avoid if you may.
