Sekeping Kong Heng

We walked in for a night enroute to KL from Penang to avoid bad traffic on the highway. 3 adults. Paid RM310 for 3 adults for the deluxe family room. They have 2 buildings: One arty but doesn't have any elevator, but a series of narrow staircases - a nightmare to drag up one's luggage and they don't offer porter service. The other has a lift, but very basic, using 'art' as an excuse for shoddineas. In addition to the above: 1. We were shouted at as we entered our room by a staff for not removing our footwear (in our room that we paid for. There was no sign whatsoever about footwear not allowed) 2. Check-in starts at 3. We checked in at 3.45 only to find that the room hasn't been cleaned. 3. Sunny, the guy from housekeeping came around 10-15mins after we complained about the dirty room, only for him to shout at us (Literally. He acted like a mob with such rage, asking what we are doing in the room as he has not cleaned it. And continued being aggressive). 4. It was 5.10 before they finally called to say that the room was ready. 5. There were 2 aircons in seperate spaces but only one remote control in the room. When we asked for another remote, Sunny again with in appropriate aggression told to just use the one that's there. 6. The night guard at the ground floor entrance had similar attitude and was as aggressive as Sunny. 7. The room was not clean or cleaned well. See photo with the cigarette packet in the balcony that, though blatantly obvious, was not removed. 8. The manager wouldn't take responsibility over Sunny's behaviour or the fact that he gave us a room that was not ready. 9. The room sleeps 4, but the bathroom is in fluted glass - ie, no privacy. No place to hang clothes in the bathroom. There was a large 1L bottle of cheap shower gel in its original cheap packaging plonked in the corner of the bathroom. 10. Sadly and very disappointingly, given all the hype around the Sekeping establishments, the entire room, establishment and service showed no sign of care or effort at all. Zero hospitality in all aspects.
