"What a fantastic hotel/apt studio right in the heart of Wellington CBD. For the price and amenities, it really can't be beaten. I'd paid more previously at TRYP, but this Quest location is far better. 👍 Although the room is the same size, it has far more amenities w a kitchenette, eating area, washer/dryer and toiletries. Right outside it's easy to find eateries and you're in walking distance of the cable car, the museum, shopping and sundries.
Can't recommend this place enough if you want bang for your buck, and you don't plan on being in the room long. Great for layovers.
P.s.- they have limited reception hours, so if you're arriving after 7pm or require assistance, this place might not be for you. Very self-service."

"The Ibis hotel was perfectly located in downtown Wellington for our needs. We could walk pretty much everywhere we wanted to go; close to Te Papa, Cuba St, and the train station. The hotel rooms seem a little dated in decor, but it was all clean and comfortable. The rooms are quiet at night and offer black out curtains for late sleepers. When we went, they had a full Uruk-hai costume on display in the lobby and my LOTR heart loved it! A downside was that parking was expensive (45NZD per day and actually completely booked out when we arrived, so book your hotel parking in advance if needed)."

"The room used was clean and tidy with a large bathroom with the shower over the bath. Room amenities were basic with the in-built heating system requiring a boost from the supplied portable tower heater during my winter stay. Entering the hotel for the first time I particularly noticed you had to negotiate, with your bags, two sets of doors and steps to reach the reception desk. One could imagine some frail or elderly finding the access a challenge.
House staff were friendly and available and promptly attended to the malfunctioning fridge in my room. Paid parking is immediately next to the hotel but uncovered. While it is not difficult to get to the establishment it has few facilities and restaurants in close proximity and people with mobility issues could have difficulties if wanting to walk to such establishments. If mobile, getting to eateries and other establishments could be a pleasant walk if time is on your side."

"Hotel is pretty old, needs renovation. I was living in separate room with own bathroom. But still everything old , smell old, mattress is very soft( Strange carpets everywhere, even on evevator walls))) But location is great, just few minutes from Railway station and Intercity buses stop. Center also just in five minutes walking. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I wish the hotel to be renovated."

"We needed somewhere cheap and cheerful before the ferry. This was fine and good value for the $ paid. Lovely receptionist who was very helpful.
Actual room dated and tired, and could hear street noise. But it did the job and was cheap and felt secure for the area."

The room is very quiet, and the layout of the bed is also good. The walls are solid inside, which increases the width of the bed and makes it convenient to put things. The only thing I feel is lacking is that the hooks in the shower room on the second floor are gone and have not been repaired. It is inconvenient to hang clothes in the shower. AAvenJWI recently stayed at this hotel and had a great experience. The location is excellent—right near the town center, which made it very convenient for dining and shopping. Despite being so close to everything, the hotel was quiet and comfortable, providing a perfect place to relax after a busy day.
The hotel itself was very clean and well looked after, with all the facilities you’d expect for a comfortable stay.

GGH LAlso called QT Hotel, because of its name, the museum hotel uses a lot of modern art works in its decoration, especially in the public areas, which is unique and full of artistic atmosphere. The hotel bar and restaurant are OK, and the front desk is open 24 hours. Since it is a serviced apartment hotel, there are kitchen equipment in the room, as well as washing and drying machines. There is a large supermarket ”New World” outside the hotel, which makes it very convenient to buy vegetables and cook by yourself. Everything is good. It is located in the bay, only 500 to 800 meters away from the city center. There are many restaurants on the pier, as well as a food city. One of the seafood restaurants with Antarctic crabs as a gimmick is good.

MMC PeteRooms at end of corridor on other side to China Street appear to be able to connect with the room opposite the corridor. However there is clearly insufficient sound proofing between them. Because I was a bit annoyed to receive a phone call from the desk around 10.30pm to pass on i presume the guests in that room, complaining of the noise from my room. I was alone and watching TV at a deliberately low volume that I simply cannot believe was annoying the guests next door. I could just hear it from INSIDE my room so it must have been barely audible next door. Despite poor sound proofing.
But worse than that it seems they also accused me of smoking as the desk also passed on this complaint. However, MUST have been from another room or maybe even from the street if they had their window open. Why? I don't smoke so by definition not me!

The lift & room was just a little bit older around the edges, but still very good! The bed was heavenly-soft & lovely, we just wish we'd had time to rest & relax more than one night in Wellington!

GGuest UserFirst of all, the entrance is a staircase, so it is difficult to drag a suitcase.
There was a Korean staff member at the desk, and he was very friendly.
There is an elevator, but it is old, so I only used it to move luggage.
I was on the 1st floor, so I felt like I was on the 2nd floor.
There is a musty smell coming from the hallway.
The desk in the room wasn't cleaned and there was food on it.
The worst part was I never wanted to go to the bathroom again.
There are two restaurants, but the one with a kitchen that we can use is the backpacker's kitchen, located past the desk.
It's a little dirty here too
You have to eat at another restaurant.
The overall review is that the staff is friendly and the service is good, but it is very dirty.

Because we don't have a car and don't want to take the bus, it is very convenient to choose here. I can walk to any attraction. The boss is very warm and kind. He said, ”He and the Chinese have worked together for ten years, just like a family.” What moved the words, he is very kind and friendly to the Chinese, and he gives it daily. We have prepared a free breakfast, we have to stay here for ten days, my daughter likes it very much, safe and hygienic. The kitchen in the restaurant can also be used free of charge. You can buy food and cook for yourself. It is a good place to take your children to travel. When I first came to check in, we took out the documents and showed them to the boss. He said cheerfully, ”No need to look, I know who you are,”. I think he may be a Chinese character with the Chinese for a long time. The interior decoration is a bit antique and has a sense of history.
