"Location wise, nothing much to critique as it’s situated right beside the train station. You can’t get anything more convenient than this. We like the modern design of the room, generally. The only negative point we experienced was the smell. There was a smell (smells like pee) inside the room but surprisingly not the toilet. Toilet actually smells better than the room. Ventilation was poorly managed, I guess. And the staff said there’s nothing they could do about it and to my biggest surprise, the hotel does not have an air freshener at all! Contrary to those reviews saying how good the breakfast is, I find it quite disappointing. Food selection is so limited and the quality wasn’t better or even on par with the typical hotel breakfast standard. Here I would like to commend on a particular staff named Iulia (not sure if I spell it correctly). She is nice, friendly and accommodating. I would like to thank her for her hospitality. Overall, I would probably come back to stay again at Essential for its perfect location."

"Hotel Central Continental, one of the first hotels of interlaken West situated adjacent to the train and bus station. I seriously felt you get the best views from the room balconies especially the corner rooms. I will give 10/10 for the scenic views from the balcony. Usually I am not a sound sleeper, but here I had a peaceful sleep and woke up with full energy hearing the birds chirping music. The amenities can be improved. Breakfast provided is good, they allow to fry the eggs which is unique.😄"

The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a long day of sightseeing. The bathroom was spotless, and I loved the toiletries provided. The hotel’s location was perfect, situated close to the interlaken west station and local shops, making it easy to explore the area. "Old chalet but still clean and with good view, walking distance to the station and some groceries near by."

"The hotel is located between Interlaken West Station and Interlaken East Station. Bus 103 is just outside the hotel and you can reach Interlaken Ost. The hotel is well equipped. Kitchenware, tableware, dishwasher, and microwave are all available, but you need to take out the garbage before leaving to ensure the basic hygiene of the hotel. The breakfast is also good, especially the boiled eggs, which are cooked just right and very tender. In short, this is a highly recommended hotel for family travel"

"The hotel is in a very good location. There are various shops outside. There are buses 103 and 21 at the intersection. You can take the bus for free with the transportation card issued by the hotel, and you can also get a souvenir silver spoon. The owner is Chinese. There is Fu Ji Restaurant downstairs. Guests can enjoy a 10% discount. The room is big enough. The bedding doesn't feel very new, but we always bring disposable bedding when we go out, so it's okay. It feels like a homestay, and the view from the small balcony is also good. It feels similar to the four-star hotel opposite us."

"Hotel is near Interlaken West train starting, which allows us to travel to various attractions easily. Can see many paraglider from our balcony! Cleanness is fine, staff were friendly. The provision of fridge and microwave at the lounge to allow guest to keep their food and heat it helped a lot as our visit fell on Sunday and most of the shops were closed at the area. Amenities is okay and the wifi connection is great. (note: no bottled water given, states that tap water is drinkable)"

"We stayed at this hotel for 6 night in late May 2024. Our room is big enough for 3 and the view facing the river is very good. It even has a balcony. The hotel is about 10-15 min walk from Interlaken West station. It is close to the main street but not noisy at all."
