The Rimrock Resort Hotel Banff Reviews

This is my second time to stay at Rimrock Resort Hotel. The hotel location is in walking distance to the gondola station of Sulphur Mountain, very convenient for visiting this beautiful sightseeing point. The room is also very clean and comfortable, especially for the beds. I always enjoy the stay at this hotel when I have the chance to visit Banff.

Stay at Rimrock Resort was wonderful right from checkin to checkout. The ladies at checkin were very friendly and professional. They provided us with a free upgrade to the mountain view room on 9th floor. The room had wonderful views and made our stay memorable. We tried buffet breakfast as Primrose and really loved their smoothies. Service was great too. Unfortunately couldn't use pool and hot tub since they were closed on the day of our stay . I wish we could have stayed few more days at Rimrock

The only great thing about this hotel is the location… the hotel room esp bathroom were old. Tub is not draining properly - very unpleasant to use. Hotel restaurant took 1.5 hour to serve 1 burger and 1 cheesecake😔 … Definitely not worth the price… To those who are looking for a hotel in Banff - do try to look for newly renovated places.

The food was okay, but VERY overpriced. We ordered a creme brulee toast, breakfast parfait and a smoked salmon omelet as the breakfast. It charges 100 dollars. The room itself is just average, but you should expect that from a mediocre hotel. The check-in and checkout process took a LONG time, which made me very disappointed. Especially when we did the checkout, we waited there for more than half an hour, because of the long time for security check in our room and the two broken POS machines which were unable to return the deposit for us, we asked for cash, but they didn't agree with my proposal, but tried to fix the machines in front of us instead. The result is they were not able to fix it and the front desk gave us cash (They also spent a long time on doing this). We were in a rush to catch the shuttle, and we DID MISS OUR SHUTTLE. The manager was very unprofessional and irresponsive, and didn't even apologize whatsoever. Not gonna stay here again.

It's still ok, relatively complete in all aspects, and suitable for traveling and living. The overall hotel and natural scenery blend well. So overall I am quite satisfied.

The experience is very bad. The hotel facilities are relatively old and the price is about 500-700. For a room price of more than 2,000, everything is charged, which is not friendly to Chinese people.

It’s too bad. Everything is charged. It’s such a big hotel and I’m almost broke. Parking charges, mineral water charges…..

Better value for money than the Fairmont Hotel

I regret the price. It’s not as good as Fairmont. I asked for a view room but it didn’t have a view. I’ll stay at Fairmont in the future.
