Helios Hotel

Overall we enjoyed our stay. Osman in reception was very friendly and always took the time to chat with us about our day and was very helpful with advice. Spoke good English. The hotel is small and a little out the way but it is peaceful and the pool was lovely. They offer a free shuttle to their private beach although we didn’t use it as we were out on day trips a lot. The room service will give fresh towels etc every day if you put the door hanger on for it. The only reason we knocked a star off was the food offered limited choice and we rarely enjoyed the main meals although the desserts were lovely and plenty to choose from with those! Dont buy clothes/shoes from the shops by the hotel, they pressure you and overcharge and get aggressive and/or defensive if you say no or try to return anything.

Please ignore the previous negative reviews this was a lovely hotel, it says 3 stars that’s what you are getting! Staff were lovely. Breakfast was the same everyday but was so tasty, food is more traditional but was still nice, rooms were cleaned everyday with fresh towels, only negatives are the floor hadn’t been cleaned when we first arrived, and then wifi was only available done stairs.

The hotel service was very poor, the cleaning was very basic, there was no hygiene in the kitchen when handling food, the food was the same, eggs for breakfast and chicken every day and the food from the day before was served again as a cold dish the next day, there was no entertainment, the truth is that this hotel is very disappointing, they offer something that they don't really have, we paid to stay for a family of 5 and they only offered 4 beds and during the stay they didn't solve anything for us.

It is the worst stay I have had on vacation, the food was terrible, the handling of the cooks, very bad, the food was the same every day, only chicken, cheap fish, pasta that was only cooked, the food that was left was recycled for the next day, it really makes you feel uncomfortable with such good hotels around, we paid for everything included, but we had to go out to eat, we paid for five people, and they only gave us enough for 4, the clients saw the food, and walked straight past, really (loveholidays) I think it is very bad that they put this kind of service in their packages! We feel robbed!

The hotel was nice a little out of the way but bus service was good. Staff very friendly and pleasant, the hotel was a little run down and could do with some upgrading, our room was clean but basic, but staff came in everyday. Pool lovely spent a lot of time in it. Shuttle to beach was handy. My only issue was with the all inclusive food and drink, only alcohol was beer, vodka, gin and wine any thing else had to be paid for. Also food was very competitive and boring same thing everyday and no extra treats available ie ice creams or snacks only at an extra cost . Had a lovely holiday but would not go back.

You get what you pay for but even so this is a very basic hotel and probably should be 2 star not 3. On arrival our family room was unavailable so the first night we were put in two rooms on different floors with a curtain which only covered half the window. This seemed to be a regular occurrence and two other families were also delayed in getting their family room. The family rooms are basic and were only cleaned once during our 12 night stay, no English TV channels, there was a fridge but no mini bar as described, our shower temperature was impossible to control and became scalding unpredictably meaning we had to shower our five year old in cold water to avoid burning her. We were all inclusive but chose to eat out four evenings. The food was very repetitive and on the few nights where meat was served people actually ran to queue up as once it was gone it was gone. Everyone was complaining about this. There was fish cooked outside on the grill on two nights which was very bony but tasty. Bizarrely fried food such as onion ring and chips were recycled as “salads” the next day. Three out of five of our party had upset stomachs. The drinks were limited to wine, beer, vodka and gin and at the beach hotel only soft drinks are free. The beach itself was only a 10 minute walk and a shuttle bus runs from the hotel at regular points during the day. Staff were disinterested unless trying to sell additional basics like a lockable safe in the room for 2 euros a day. Staff frequently asked guests to vacate tables after eating so they could put out the sunbeds and they seemed reluctant to put out enough large tables to accommodate family groups. Also avoid the “essential meeting with your local Holiday expert guide” on your first day, this is not about giving information about your transfers or local amenities, it is about trying to sell you excursions. The pool was ok but the steps were lose and a couple of people ended up with cuts from sharp edges, including our five year old. There was no entertainment for kids, and certainly no kids club. During our 12 night stay there was a Latin dance show which lasted 30 minutes and a Turkish dance show which lasted similar. Other than this the entertainment was playlists from youtube played through speakers by the pool. We made the best of a bad job but this was not great and clearly we should have read more of the reviews as it looks like our experience was common.
