Castival Hotel

Can be better, reception very unfriendly. Price for this hotel even in low season is to expensive. I think it’s worth €30 maximum

This is a sophisticated hotel with some real plus points, nice room with very comfy bed and plump pillows, great power shower, small fridge with waater and fruit juice replenished daily, good aircon, safe in room, although displayed 'low battery' so didn't risk it! The range of food is huge, very well presented, so fresh, and considering the volume they are producing is very flavoursome - baklava to die for! Give your waiter a tip, and your wine will be topped up every time before the glass is empty, friendly staff throughout, nice pizzas at the poolside snack bar, and the cafe is great with a range of coffees and amazing cakes, the lobby bar is stylish with nice relaxing entertainment every evening, special mention for the young guy who 'runs' the bar, never seen anyone so activated with producing cocktails and drinks, you could just watch this man for hours! I was moved to this hotel, as the one I had originally booked did not pass the new fire regulations, implemented by the government following the fire at the ski resort earlier this year - I booked with onthebeach, and they offered three alternatives - I definately chose the right one. Location is not picturesque with a rip off tourist tack shopping mall opposite, but there are ATMs nearby, chemists and supermarkets, so everything is near. You can take a dolmus to Side or Manavgat, the bust stop is two minutes from hotel. I had the pleasure of a chat with the owner, who is a delightful man. Some minor points for improvement: quite a few cracked and broken tiles around the pool and from the exit to the pool from the restaurant hallway - this needs attention, also TV channels need retuning, half of them don't work, and the only english language channels were bloomberg and Deutsche Welle English. Be careful if bringing back cigarettes - I got pulled by customs at Edinburgh airport, and they were confiscated - but hey ho! Finally a big plus for sunexpress, the airline I was booked with, great flights all on time, and really comfy seats, so no backache at the end of the flight. Conclusion - a well run and stylish hotel, helpful and friendly staff, amazing food, lovely bar with great entertainment - what's not to like :)

We arrived at the hotel and our bags were taken up to our room for us. The hotel is lovely, the staff are all so welcoming, bringing drinks to your table in the lobby bar. Food is delicious and plentiful. All in all we have had a fantastic time. Outside the hotel is a little scruffy but they are building a new shopping centre so hopefully that will improve the image.
