Poetic Hue Hotel & Spa

The worst experience I have ever had ! We are pretty easy people, the only thing we expect from a room is a bit of cleaness. I really don't understand the positive reviews I read. Description of Poetic Hotel: Smell of mold, visible mold, like a centimeter of dust on everything. We arrived pretty late, put the luggage in the room and went out. When we came back at night, we decided not to use the airco, nor the blower. Using these equipment is life treathening (no joke!). Wrapped a T-shirt around the pillow and laid a towel on the blankets to sleep on. The managment blamed the cleaning staff for not doing their work correct lately. In my opinion this was not ”lately” but for months/years. The managment must have known of this as we were brought to our room by ”the managment”. Next morning left as early as possible to G-Hotel around the corner. For about the same price a staff was proud of their clean rooms. If you care about you life: stay away from this ho(s)tel.

Great little hotel, we stayed in one of the dorms for 1 night and everything was comfortable, the beds, bathroom and air con was good and the breakfast was great in the morning. Lê made our stay even better, she spoke good English and was really chatty and helpful. Organised scooters and the bus for us. She deserves a pay rise! 11/10 service from Lê!

If I come back to Vietnam, this is the place I would like to stay again. Very quiet, the hotel staff is super enthusiastic, it is very new and perfect, and there are some free massage services. Although I didn't use them, I still felt at home. The hotel rents a small motorcycle, which is very convenient for going around Hue.
Sahi Homestay Retreat

I was searching the internet, looking for suitable and affordable accommodation when this homestay property came up. The photos were well taken and convinced me to reserve a room. The marketing team did a great job! The owner has set up a very comfortable property. I was impressed with the room and its surroundings. The water pressure in the bathroom was perfect, with hot and cold water. The bed was great for a good night’s sleep. It is not located in the heart of town, so I either walked or took some form of transportation to get to where I wanted to go. There are not a lot of choices when it comes to food and beverages, perhaps a couple of coffee joints and a few bakeries along the road. Head out to the city centre and you will get your fix. I was glad I chose this homestay property for my stay in Hue. I enjoyed the peace and tranquility.
The Scarlett Boutique Hotel

The hotel is ok. The service is excellent and that's what makes it stand apart. The location overall is great, but it was difficult to find as it's in a back ally. Parking is on the street and you need to move the car in the middle of the night to avoid a parking ticket. We didn't try the breakfast as we had other plans, but the setup looked quite nice. The large bed is one that is actually 2 beds put together with a topper. This is a major issue. I understand why management would choose this as it provides more options to accommodate various guests, but the execution never works in any hotel. There's always a dip in the middle and the beds move apart in the middle of the night making sleeping a nightmare; we did not sleep well. This is also the first business (hotel, rest. etc.) that i have experienced in Vietnam that did not have a butt spray cleaner in the toilet area. We were disappointed with that. There is also a terrible cigarette smell in the hallways. It's par for the course for hotels in Asia to have this and I recognize the challenge hotels need to deal with; just unfortunate as the first impressions going up to the room were really effected by it. Cleaning the air and washing the carpets do help a little bit, but really the only way to overcome this is to replace the carpets completely and strictly enforce a no-smoking policy by the staff. Overall, the stay was ok. There is a lot of value for the money to be found here and the friendly staff are what really make the property worth a look, as is the convenience to the walking street for dinner and fun on the weekends.
