It's a sight that is well worth the early start, and the morning chill is alleviated by thick down jackets available to all guests.The hotel is built in traditional Hui style with rustic but cozy wood-lined "eco" rooms. More traditional-style options are available, many of which offer exceptional mountain views. All guestrooms feature high-speed broadband Internet access, satellite TVs, mini-bars and in-room safes.Dining options on Huang Shan are limited to hotels and snack stalls with the Baiyuan Hotel's restaurant offering a range of Chinese and Western options. Other facilities include a small shop and a business center for those all-important emails, but really Huang Shan is all about the magnificent scenery and a mountain-top stay is the perfect way to enjoy it to the max.
"The picture shows the stunning view of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) from my window. It was breathtakingly beautiful. I was so excited when I opened the window in the morning. At breakfast, a fellow guest at my table, who had just come down from Bright Summit (Guangming Ding), exclaimed that they had witnessed a perfect sunrise today. Coincidentally, we had seen an equally perfect sunset from the very same spot the day before. Pictures three and four are of that sunset. We were quite exhausted after watching the sunset from Bright Summit and walking back. As soon as we entered the hotel, a sense of warmth and brightness enveloped us. Manager Xiao Min softly and gently inquired about our needs. Later in the evening, she even brought us mugwort sachets, which was when I realized there was a foot-soaking tub in the room. A basin of hot water was exactly what we needed to wash away our fatigue. We had a perfect trip to Huangshan, and choosing to stay at Baiyun Hotel was definitely a wise decision."

"The Xihai Hotel is located near the Xihai Grand Canyon, about an hour's walk from the Yungu cable car, with not too many steps. We saw many porters along the way, who work incredibly hard, so we understand the slightly higher room rates. The rooms are quite compact; the beds are not much bigger than those in university dorms, everything is miniature-sized 🤣. However, I must praise the excellent service. The staff were warm and attentive, and the front desk even offered comforting ginger tea, which was a thoughtful touch in the sub-zero temperatures. We also received a complimentary souvenir, which we would have happily taken if we weren't already heavily burdened from hiking down the mountain! I particularly enjoyed the 7:30 PM lobby performance; it was creative and considerate, with almost everyone getting a small stool to sit on. The Cloud Foot Massage within the hotel seemed effective, aside from the price! The breakfast buffet offered a good variety, with many items I enjoyed. The black tea and coffee were average; the black tea was milder than the local Qimen black tea from Huangshan but still pleasantly warming."

"Super location and very nice staff. We ordered an airport pickup to the hotel with the trip app and our driver contacted the hotel to let them know when we arrived so that a staff member could pick us up by the road. Super cozy streets around the hotel.
My room was very spacious and clean.
The breakfast was very good, noodles and dumplings. On our second day we asked the staff to recommend a driver to take us to different hot spots and we got a very nice driver at an affordable price. Will definitely stay here again."

"There aren't many five-star hotels in Huangshan city center, and I was torn between Crowne Plaza and Hyatt. Ultimately, I chose Crowne Plaza for its excellent location and better value for money. My decision proved to be correct. All the staff were incredibly enthusiastic and always willing to help. Although the room showed its age a bit, it was very well-maintained and clean. The breakfast was rich and varied; they even had mooncakes during my stay, along with some local specialties – a big thumbs up! 👍🏻 There's a bathtub and a swimming pool, and the pool was very clean. My daughter either swam or took a bath every day. A very thoughtful touch: the desk lamp even had a 'study mode' which was very bright. My child didn't have to strain her eyes doing homework under dim, yellowish light anymore! A big shout-out to the hotel for its thoughtfulness! 👍🏻"

"We took the Yungu Cableway from the back mountain up, then walked to the Paiyun Xing Lv Hotel, which is a new addition to the mountain. Upon checking in, we found our 'triple room' offered great value for money.
The room was approximately 23 square meters and featured three 1.2-meter beds, which were very comfortable. Washing machines and dryers are conveniently located on the 4th floor.
The restaurant is situated behind the front desk, and breakfast is served downstairs.
After checking in, you can add the hotel butler on WeChat. He will inform guests of the next day's sunrise time. Those wishing to catch the sunrise can gather early in the morning as per his instructions to watch it from Danxia Peak.
The hotel lobby features a Costa Coffee outlet. Guests can use the coffee vouchers provided in their rooms, which offer a 5 RMB discount per cup – a pretty good deal."

"The front desk ladies were very helpful and friendly. Two thumbs up. The carpet in the hallways was a bit old and hard to keep it pristine under the hot and moist climate. But once you were in the room it was another story. Beds were nice and soft and clean and bathroom was clean and tidy. Breakfast was buffet style and good. The hotel is not too far from the Old Street area. However you still need to call Didi and it costs you little. The last point is the hotel price was very inexpensive. It gives you a very good value for your money. So if you are looking for a good hotel to sleep with budget in mind, this is the one. There are restaurants near the hotel. I will book this hotel again if I am in the area. Thank you to the front desk staffs."

"One of the best places we've ever stayed in, not only in China but anywhere. Beautiful surroundings in a park on a hill within Huangshan City, The interior design in the room and the shared spaces is amazing, it is cozy and tasteful with a lot of beautiful art. The overall atmosphere is great and relaxing. The breakfast is delicious and healthy, and the portions are big. The staff is incredibly helpful and nice, they helped us with the transfer from the train station and taking our luggage up the stairs, and with any questions about getting around the area. And to top everything off there are two very cute cats. As one other review said, the place is so good it was tempting to just stay there all the time, instead of going out."

"I stayed at two hotels during my trip, one in Hongcun for the first day and this one for Huangshan on the second. This hotel was so much better! The room was clean and hygienic, and it even came with a hot spring. After hiking Huangshan, a soak in the hot spring was amazing – my feet were only slightly sore the next day. There's even a foot massage place right next door. The front desk staff also helped me arrange a shared car to the high-speed rail station when I left, which saved a lot of time. Next time I come to Huangshan, I'll definitely book this place again."

We were a group of 8 people and had an unforgettable stay here. The hotel owner is one of the kindest and most helpful people we’ve ever met. From the moment we arrived, he welcomed us warmly, gave us great local recommendations, and even personally drove us to each destination!
On the day we went hiking in the mountains, he provided us with free walking sticks. He helped us with everything — arranging transfers, buying entrance tickets, and planning the route. He also allowed us to check in early and check out late, which was incredibly convenient.
I shared room 8303 with my friend. The room is designed for two people and had two separate beds, both very comfortable to sleep in. There was also an air conditioner in the room, which made our stay even more pleasant.
Another thing we’re super grateful for — the owner kindly let us do laundry. After hiking in the mountains, our clothes definitely needed it!
The view from the window was absolutely stunning. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, full of natural light, and have plenty of power outlets. The showers were great, with clean water and convenient showerheads. There were all the necessary toiletries: body soap, shampoo — we recommend bringing your own conditioner if needed.
The hotel can also prepare food for guests. We really enjoyed the tomato and egg noodles — delicious and homey.
There’s also a local café nearby where we had breakfast a few times.
The hotel is located in the mountains, perfectly positioned for visiting nearby attractions, waterfalls, hiking spots, and even riding quad bikes.
A tip: bring a good quality raincoat if you’re visiting during rainy weather!
The owner speaks basic English, and even though it wasn’t easy for him, he patiently explained everything to us in English with so much kindness and care. He truly went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable — even helped us search for a lost phone in the mountains!

GGuest UserShuishongshi Shanfang Hotel is a unique hotel with a strong artistic flair. Our room offered stunning mountain views the moment we opened the door, and at night, we could hear the gentle murmur of the stream. The young lady at the front desk who assisted us was incredibly kind and helpful; she planned a perfect hiking route tailored to our fitness level, which really compensated for the hotel not being situated at the very peak. As we set off for our hike, she even thoughtfully provided us with hiking poles. The driver who handled our transfers was also superb, ensuring seamless connections from the hotel to the trailhead. On our second day, when they helped us transport our luggage out of the mountain area, the hotel thoughtfully prepared bottled water and a lovely farewell gift.

GGuest UserI had a good stay here. The room was large and had a nice sunroom attached, the cafe in the lobby was also pleasant. It’s a very short walk to the mountain entrance and the host was very helpful with giving advice for hiking routes, buying tickets, and recommending restaurants. He also speaks fluent English, which is nice for international travelers.

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

Unlike most hotels within the village, this hotel has conserved the architecture of the exterior and interior of the over 300 years old structure. It is well maintained with modern amenities and a nice manicured garden filled with bonsai plants. The Chinese breakfast was simple and nice. The menu has a good range of beverages and the food was good at reasonable prices.
The room we stayed was small but cozy. It is within the main building and just outside the room there is a reading lounge. It was quiet and hardly used while we were there.

I booked a long stay here as a retreat and break from the work and it is exactly everything I need to unwind and recharge.
The guesthouse ran by a husband and wife team are so hospitable and go the extra mile to make sure my stay here is relaxing and I have everything I need to work and go about my day.
The room i am staying in is very brightly lighted with a desk for me to work. I have to say the bed is also very comfortable and I have been sleeping well every night.
The surrounding is so peaceful and tranquil, with gardens and flowers and mountain peaks in the distance. I am rather glad I am staying here in the valley instead of near the centre.
In terms of service, the boss is very helpful and responsive to my messages when we need to ask any question or require a pick up after the hikes. The lady boss is similarly extremely friendly, warm and kind and ensure my needs and well being is looked after every day. She cared for me like her own family.
I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help a foreigner like me who struggle with the language.
I would strongly recommend this lovely and cosy guesthouse to any local and foreigner who is looking for an amazing visit to Huangshan for a few days or up to a month. They will ensure you are well taken care of and your stay is absolutely delightful.

The bathrooms are very clean and new, with a wet/dry separation, which perfectly solves the problem of not being able to shower and use the toilet simultaneously when traveling with friends. There's also a designated vanity area with a large counter, absolutely perfect for several girls to do their makeup together.
Cleanliness: The room was spotlessly clean. I can genuinely say that getting such a great hotel for this price is an absolute steal.
Environment: This is my favorite hotel I've ever stayed in. It has a laundry room, foot spa, supermarket, and even robot room service. On the first floor, you can enjoy local Anhui cuisine with a discount, and they'll even deliver it right up to your room. You just order in your room, and soon enough, hot food from downstairs arrives.
Service: From booking to checking out, the entire experience felt incredibly personal. The front desk staff were wonderful, unlike the robotic, 'just doing their job' vibe you often get at other hotels. After hiking Huangshan, I booked this hotel and contacted the front desk to arrange a car to pick us up from the Huangshan South Transfer Center. In less than ten minutes, the hotel car arrived. Later, during check-in downstairs, they gave us a souvenir and some tea. The front desk service was superb, and overall, the shuttle service and all our needs were met.
If I come to Huangshan again, I will definitely stay here. Most importantly, I will enthusiastically recommend this hotel to all my friends. It's truly affordable with excellent service, satisfying even someone with high demands like me.

GGuest UserThe accommodation has a free shuttle to/from the station, definitely a plus! It's only a 10 minute walk, but 10 minutes with heavy luggage is something you could miss. It’s a bit inconvenient that you have to call them to actually book the shuttle, because I don’t speak Mandarin and they don’t speak English, so a call would not be possible, but maybe that’s something that Trip could improve on. When I checked out, the lady told me (through a translation app) that she could drop me off at the station, which I was very happy about.
When I checked in, I got a room upgrade as well. I was alone so I didn’t really need two beds, but the the huge room was very nice after all those bunk beds in hostels! They also offer a carpooling service to the ticket office/entrance of Huangshan for a good price! Just tell them the night before that you’d like to go to Huangshan and they will arrange a shuttle for you (mine was at 7 am in the morning and I just had to message them when I wanted to go back to the hotel in the evening).
They can offer sightseeing tips, they can recommend you something to eat. Just ask and they will help you. Sometimes it was just a bit hard to communicate, the woman uses a translation app which works just fine, but the man doesn’t, he tries to explain everything in Mandarin by using gestures, writing it down in Mandarin … but then it’s obviously not easy to understand each other. That aside, they’re both so sweet and helpful. I would stay there again, if I ever come back!
Side note, Trip does not give you the correct address of the hotel (in English). Whichever map app I used, it would send me to an open space in the street of the hotel. The hotel is actually located just a bit further next to a (very good!) restaurant, but just ask someone in the street and they will bring you to the reception of the hotel, if you can’t find it. 😉

The owner upgraded me to a moon-viewing room for free. The scenery was really great. I had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. I was very satisfied with the dinner order. Every dish was delicious. Eight dishes + a few bottles of beer and drinks cost about 60 to 70 yuan per person. I recommend everyone to come. Attached is a picture of the scenery seen from the floor-to-ceiling window in the morning.
