"Excellent choice for staying in Seoul! The main advantage of this hostel is its location. It's practically in the city center, so it was very convenient to get to the main attractions and explore Seoul without wasting extra time. The hostel was very clean, cozy, and pleasant to stay in. The staff was incredibly friendly: the hostess always answered questions, helped with any requests, and created a comfortable atmosphere. A big plus was the option to leave luggage both before check-in and after check-out prior to the flight. The room was small, but for Seoul and this price, it's totally expected. Overall, everything essential was there, and for travelers who spend most of their time in the city, this is a great option. The only thing is that it can be quite noisy from the street in the evenings, so if you're a light sleeper, it's worth keeping this in mind."

"This was my third time staying here, and the location is still super convenient. Food deliveries come right to your room, and there are plenty of restaurants downstairs, plus coffee shops and convenience stores. The guesthouse is right on the main road, so no navigating alleyways. The area feels safe too, with lots of young people and university students around. There's a washing machine and dryer in the hallway, which is really handy. I switched rooms midway through my stay. The underfloor heating in the smaller room wasn't very warm, but the larger room was excessively hot – as someone from the south, I couldn't handle it and had to use the AC to adjust the temperature. I added the owner on WeChat, and they were always responsive and very helpful. All in all, it's perfect for a solo traveler. I'll definitely come back if I get the chance!"

"Before checking in, I was slightly concerned about previous comments regarding bathroom layout and luggage space, but my experience was 100% positive! There was plenty of designated room to keep our bags secure, and the shower area felt completely private with steady, hot water pressure. The rooms and shared spaces were thoroughly sanitized and clean. It’s brilliant how quickly management updated their amenities!"

"I chose this hotel because I was attending a concert at KSPO and it's a direct subway ride back. Even though I was alone, they gave me a twin room! The hotel's location is a bit dimly lit at night, but the room itself was clean. The toilet and sink had a slight sewage-like smell, but it was tolerable. For just sleeping, it was perfectly satisfactory. They provided a set of amenities, which I used. However, the comb was reusable, so I used my own. My room was on the 3rd floor, and the stairs were a bit difficult to climb. On the first floor, there's a shared space with a coffee machine, washing machine, kitchen, and they even provided light snacks. Overall, I was satisfied."

Set in Seoul's Jung-gu, Haechi-stay Myeongdong is positioned to meet the needs of those traveling for fun or business.

"The location is fantastic! You can easily walk to Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village. The subway station is right next door, and Myeongdong is just a short walk across the street. Being a new hotel, it's incredibly clean. I arrived half an hour early, and after adding them on WeChat, they immediately processed my check-in. Any questions I had were answered super quickly via WeChat, which was a huge contrast to other older hotels I've stayed at that didn't even bother replying. This place offers incredible value for money! My room even had a small bathtub, a makeup mirror on the desk, and a small round table next to the bed. It's small but has everything you need, a really thoughtful guesthouse. The third and sixth floors house other hostels. On the sixth floor, there's even a luggage slide for going up the stairs, which is a clever design. Across the street is the Westin Hotel, where you can catch the airport bus. Highly recommended!"

"On one of the nights during our stay, the fire alarm went off at 3 AM. We sat on the curb across the street, shivering in the cold for half an hour before the fire truck arrived. During that entire half hour, no staff member came out to explain the situation. Staff from Hotel Skypark II across the street did come out to check, and after the fire trucks arrived, we also saw Skypark staff communicating with the firefighters. About an hour later, other guests started returning to their rooms, and we followed suit. Even at that point, no staff from this hotel had appeared. On our way back to the room, we noticed a large amount of clutter in the stairwell (see photo) — a hazard in itself.  A few minutes after we got back to our room, the fire alarm suddenly went off again, but just for a few seconds, which startled us so much that we immediately went down to the front desk on the 3/F. At that time, there were two foreign female sitting in the common area. We thought they were just guests and chatted with them for a bit, only to find out during the conversation that they were actually staff members here. According to them, they were something like international students or exchange students working here— not trained professionals you would expect to handle an emergency. We also figured out during the conversation that they had actually been standing outside with the guests the whole time while we were all waiting for the fire trucks to arrive — yet even then, neither of them had come forward to say anything or offer any reassurance. We guessed that they were probably working here in exchange for a place to stay, which would explain why no one seemed to be properly in charge when things went wrong. Putting this incident aside, this hostel is actually quite good.  The three of us stayed in a family twin room. We were able to open two large suitcases in the entrance hallway, and there was plenty of space at the foot of the beds and underneath them to temporarily store things we had just bought. The double bed was more than spacious enough for two people, and there was also lots of room on the shelf behind our bed to place personal items. The only minor complaint is that a smell occasionally came from the ventilation system on the bathroom ceiling. Also, there is no shower stall/ bathtub (see photo), so when you shower, the entire floor and toilet bowl gets wet, and there is no place to hang clothes to change into after showering. The room was pretty clean. The common area has a vacuum cleaner, a washer-dryer, and a luggage scale. There is also a microwave, an oven, and a stovetop available for use. For breakfast, bread, eggs, cereal, milk, and Indomie instant noodles are provided for you to cook yourself.   The hotel's location is very convenient — it's right across from Hotel Skypark II. It's a short walk to Euljiro 1(il)-ga Station and Myeongdong, and there are plenty of great restaurants nearby, as well as a convenience store right across the street. If it weren't for this incident, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel."

"This is my first time encountering a hostel with one-on-one service! The front desk staff, a young man, was absolutely wonderful. He even spoke Chinese! He was so worried I wouldn't find the place that he sent important information three times and then followed up repeatedly. Thanks to all the precise pictures he sent, the location was super easy to find! And what a great location it is! It's right near Hapjeong Station Exit 7, next to Olive Young and Daiso, with lots of street food downstairs! I actually really liked that the other guests were mostly quiet foreign women; there was hardly any noise. I hope everyone remembers to be considerate and not make a lot of noise in the common areas or rooms, so as not to disturb others! Oh, and the free breakfast was fantastic too! I honestly can't believe this price for a place in Seoul, South Korea!"

"Excellent location! It's just a short walk from Jongno 3-ga subway station. There are tons of convenience stores nearby (GS25, CU, 7-Eleven, you name it!) and plenty of restaurants, including some great options for solo diners. You'll also find a lot of bars and cafes. The location is a little tucked away, which makes it surprisingly quiet. I arrived quite late, so I emailed them beforehand and received a very detailed and patient reply. If it weren't for all the K-pop fans lately making it hard to book consecutive nights, I would definitely have stayed longer. The transportation is super convenient, and there's Tapgol Park nearby for a stroll. It's also close to many other attractions. Cleanliness: Very clean and tidy. Facilities: The common areas are well-equipped. The room has a mini-fridge, and the bathroom has a wet/dry separation, with slippers thoughtfully placed right at the entrance, and a floor mat. Service: They have local travel guides available for reference (I've included a picture of the guide). When I checked out, I met a very warm and polite Korean lady. I just love the vibe here! There's a restaurant on the street outside that serves amazing beef bone soup noodles, and a set meal with grilled meat. I forgot to take a picture of the name, but the auntie there speaks good English and provides fantastic service!"

Oh my goodness! I was so lucky to choose this hostel. I originally booked a room with two single beds and a private bathroom, but the front desk upgraded me directly to a triple room with one queen bed and one single bed – it was fantastic! It was also very close to the elevator, and there's a luggage scale available in the hallway. Downstairs, there's a huge Olive Young (pharmacy/beauty store), right in the heart of Myeongdong. Across the street, there's a convenience store and the delicious Sinseon Seolleongtang, so everything you need is super convenient. The hostel offers a simple breakfast; personally, I didn't find it particularly delicious, but it was acceptable. You have to wash your own dishes after eating, and the hygiene conditions are excellent. The front desk service was also very enthusiastic and spoke English. I recommend booking two months in advance for more choices and better prices.

This hotel is great. I arrived early and had to pay about 30,000 won for an early check-in, which was about 3 hours in advance, but it was worth it because the room was excellent. It was very clean and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities. It's perfect for a solo traveler as the room isn't very big; it might feel a bit cramped for two people. Overall, it's good value for money.

I wouldn't recommend it for germaphobes, but the room is spacious, and the location is fantastic! It's close to the station, and there are plenty of restaurants where you can eat alone, as well as Olive Young, Daiso, and convenience stores. If you're just looking for a place to sleep, there's absolutely no problem! I really liked this hotel. The bathroom with frosted glass was a nice touch, and the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels replaced every day. Toiletries were also replenished daily. The overhead shower was super cool! The hotel's location is fantastic, situated between two metro stations, making it easy to get to central Seoul. There are also plenty of shops, a market, and cafes nearby. Plus, there are mountains close by if you fancy a hike. They even have signs in Russian, and the owner speaks a bit of Russian too! 😊

Checkin starts at 3, I ended up there at 2:30, asked to wait very sternly, I said ya no worries I will and I sat on the sofa. But the guy who was supposed to check in, he was late and suddenly the women was now polite. The guy eventually came at 3:30. And was apologetic. Funny how people can be apologetic if its their mistake , but ask them 1 more question hours later they become rude. He spoke broken English which was hard to grasp as he was going really quickly on the do’s and dont’s but he was irritated at me for that. Next day I saw him all in smiles and laughter to a westerner. And calmly explaining everything. Rest, liked the location because its away from Myeongdang main street, so its calm while close enough to walk for stroll.

This hotel is just right for a 2-3 night stay. My check-in was scheduled for 5 PM, but when I asked if I could store my luggage, they actually let me check in at 3 PM. The nearest major station is Gangnam, so getting around by bus is quite convenient. If you have a lot of luggage, I'd recommend taking a taxi. Given the hilly area, a combination of bus and taxi would be ideal. I chose a standard double room, which is perfect for those who prefer showers. The only minor issue was a slight cigarette smell.

+ Good location 👍🏻 + Compared to shared rooms I stayed at other places, this single room was peaceful for me.  + There is an elevator which is also good because lots of guesthouses don't have elevators. - Shower room is uncomfortable for me. (Though I know that type of showers are very common in Korea and maybe a part of the culture, I just wanted to mention it for other foreign people which may feel uncomfortable.) Showers are next to each other in the same room, seperated by the curtains. - Kitchen and the room was a bit dirty. The chair in the room had stains on it. It would be a better accomodation experience if the property were cleaner.

It's only two minutes' walk from the nearest station and has excellent access. There is a convenience store right next to the hotel, and there are 24-hour restaurants nearby, so it's convenient. A refrigerator, dryer, and smartphone charger are provided in the room.(i-phone&type-c only) If there is no staff at the front desk when you check in, you will need to obtain your room number using sns. As others have written, the cleaning situation leaves room for improvement. However, you will be able to stay at a very reasonable price, so I think it would be a good idea to bring slippers and other things to make up for the parts of the floor that are not well cleaned.
