Always wanted to come and this place doesn't disappoint at all. Incredible view of sunset and tranquility. A little stroll from the fisherman village where you see an unexpected side of Hong Kong. Highly recommend, worth every penny.

Besides the service, everything here was not value for money.
The location requires a long journey in from Tung Chung, which isn't the fault of the hotel. It also requires a short boat ride or a 15min walk from where the cab dropped us off.
The room was damp and humid, and the bed sheets also felt moist. It was quite uncomfortable for the stay (summer time)
Also, our stay was interrupted by a loud alarm in the middle of the night, which is extremely unpleasant, even though the staff eventually let us change rooms.
Overall wouldn't come back here, could have stayed somewhere with a better experience for the price. Manage your expectations when booking here

On April 27th, we booked a suite on the 2nd floor at the Tai O Heritage Hotel for one night on June 22nd. My wife and I took the Ngong Ping 360 to Po Lin Monastery in the morning, and after having an exquisite lunch at the Monastery’s vegetarian restaurant, we took bus No. 21 to Tai O. Arrived at the hotel at about 3 pm and completed the check-in procedure within 10 minutes. We were very happy to receive a lucky bag for the 10th anniversary of the hotel. A hotel staff warmly brought us upstairs to our room. We were told that it was a little bit difficult to unlock the door because the hotel wants to preserve the original structure and appearance of the wooden door of the Old Tai O Marine Police Station (120 years ago). Although a very skilful demonstration was given, it was a hard job for us to unlock the door because of the handicap of our age. In the end, we had to trust the security system of the Hotel and didn't attempt to lock the door at all. After the opening hours for public visitors at 6 pm, the environment of the Hotel was very quiet and relaxing. We like very much the rustic continental style glass-roofed restaurant: sitting at a small table facing the Tai O Bay, we had a feeling of enjoying the harvest of our lifework. We know that Tai O Heritage Hotel is a non-profit organization with a mission to protect cultural relics and historic sites in addition to providing hotel services, and because there are only 9 rooms (6 on the first floor and 3 suites on the second floor), it is a big constraint to run the business successfully, we also understand that the cost-effective of room charges and meal prices must not be on par with the 5-star Hotels in the city. We will be back, thanks!

The location of the hotel is a bit remote, but for a hotel with historical relics, this is not a problem. However, it happened to be raining heavily on the day of check-in, and it took about 25 minutes to walk to get there. It was really disappointing. Fortunately, the weather was good the next day. After returning to normal service and enjoying a delicious breakfast, all the mood of looking forward to exploring the historical value of the hotel came back. Location: You can't get there by car. According to the hotel staff, you can take a boat during the day and walk from Tai O Station for 20 minutes.
We took the red bus from Tsim Sha Tsui to Tung Chung Station at 8 pm and then took the blue bus at around 9:50 to Tai O Station, and then went the wrong way... It was dark and we returned to the station at around 10:30... If we walked to the hotel again, we would break our legs and we were afraid of getting lost.
Communicating with the hotel: 1. We did not agree to add a bed. (Confirmed after booking)
2. We did not check in and did not agree to refund the room fee for the next day.
That night, I met a villager and asked: Tai O... There is no one, hurry out, there is no car at 12 o'clock, don't call a taxi. If it is a hotel, no, it is too far away, there are only 9 rooms...
Me: "Uncle, what's there to do?"
Uncle: "No, just see the mountains and water, nothing."
Me: "Thank you, uncle, we all took a blue taxi to go to Disneyland."...
Important matters:
1. The car cannot reach the hotel. The nearest location is Tai O Station (the bus stops at 12 o'clock at night).
2. No extra bed.
3. No refund for wrong booking or change of itinerary.
4. Only blue taxis can go to Tai O Station.
5. The colleagues who gave good reviews here are really good people. I wish you happiness.
