A really good accommodation with the room size as its only downfall, which should still be common across Hong Kong. Would I say it's worth it? Definitely! Cutting to the chase, this place is not for heavy packers. 2-3 levels of stairs are needed to access their units and there is also barely enough space for a check-in type trolley. This place is best suited for backpackers.
Having said this, the stay has all your basic needs and packaged in a very presentable manner, which already sets it apart from other hostels in the area. While the apartment itself is clean because the owners do clean everyday (they take out your trash for you!), your bed does not, which is the only negative point regarding the cleanliness aspect. I haven't tried but maybe you guys can try contacting the owner and request for a change of sheets? Because I already felt itchy by the third night. 😬 The hostel has two toilet cubicles and one shower cubicle. There is a common area where you can hang out it if you feel stuffy in your room. There is a fridge, a microwave, a water dispenser, towels and personal slippers for your convenience. However, that is basically it and there are no other amenities for you. BUT! They make it up to you for its location.
You do not need more amenities as Kowloon Park is just across the hostel. The Tsim Sha Tsui MTR entrance is also across the hostel. Chungking Mansions (best currency exchange so I've heard) and iSQUARE Shopping Centre are both nearby. Also, K11 (Musea and ARTMALL), Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong Museum of Art, and the Space Museum are walkable. YueJu really has a good location and with its cleanliness and atmosphere inside the actual hostel, it really is worth staying in when you are at Hong Kong and eyeing the TST area. The owners are also very very nice and you may contact them through WeChat (you are given their contact upon check-in). Make sure you have it downloaded for easy communication; luckily, I already have WeChat installed. The door lock is via passcode as well so they give the codes to you through chat. If you have no WeChat, I am guessing they will give you the code verbally.
Thank you so much for accommodating me! Will definitely consider staying again especially if I am travelling with friends, maybe we can all stay in one dorm room. 😁
