It is difficult to imagine this hotel was once three star quality. Frankly, it’s hard to believe this hotel could legitimately earn one star. The promotional photographs provided on various booking websites and the property’s website are simply not accurate. According to the hotel, they are for “illustration purposes” and are not actual hotel rooms in this hotel. I paid for an upgraded superior deluxe room and the pictures speak for themselves. My room was neither superior, nor deluxe. Dingy, old, rundown, Blank walls, thin, worn mattress, moldy bathroom fixtures, worn out carpet, non-functional light switches, and I could go on. From a practical standpoint, there are no power outlets near the bed - I had to charge my phone in the bathroom where one of the two power outlets was broken. This hotel’s best days are behind it. Many rooms here have no windows, which is why I upgraded to a Superior Deluxe, which has a window but only in the technical sense. Mine has a window that looks out into darkness. See the picture below taken at mid-day. No light whatsoever. Just a physical window. The room obviously used to be a smoking room. Smoking is no longer permitted but my room as well as the corridor do have the odor of stale cigarette smoke. The cigarette burns on the furniture remain evident. My advice is to choose a bite that has a well-established reputation. There are many with comparable prices. I hope my review can save at least one traveler from the great disappointment that would otherwise await them at Bong Sen.

Beware. This hotel has No lift, only Staicase to the Breakfast buffet rooftop Restaurant on the 7th floor and to Roof top Pool and Spa above it on the 8th floor. The hotel lift only goes up to the 6th floor! For those who cannot climb stairs like me, it was a rude shock ! So please keep in mind. I would have never booked this hotel had I known! The pool and Spa are well maintained and also have a Jacuzzi hot tub , a Steam Room and Sauna. The Pool is very tiny and like a jacuzzi size! The rooms are a bit dated and stuffy. The AC looks old and the cooling is not too good. Other than that the rooms are big, spacious and have a mini bar and kettle for tea coffee. We got a large room with a dbl bed and 2 single beds, no balcony, so it was nice and big. The regular deluxe dbl room, no balcony is a bit on the small side. Room w no balcony is quiet as its not on the street. The bathroom is very good and big. But the tub is very high and hard for someone with mobility issues and arthritis. So I would well avoid this hotel at all costs. Its just Not suitable for those with mobility issues and accesibility needs. Its very centrally located, next to Hguyen hue walking street, near all landmarks. Sheraton and Hilton and all big hotels very close. Its in District 1 so perfect location as many major attractions are a stones throw. Or easily 10 min walkable. Buffet breakfast is very good, staff is cheerful and efficient, its clean ( albeit stuffy , dated rooms) , with big baths and makes for a good city hotel with an open terrace breakfast buffet, Full service Spa, roof top pool, hot tub , steam and Sauna! If you are going to not spend much time in the room and are okay with dated rooms, its a good deal mainly for the location and above amenities !

We stayed here for a week in a garden view room. The great: The room was clean big & very comfortable. The breakfast changed their hot food daily and the egg station did a large variety of cooked eggs as requested. There was also a Bah Mih station. The service was fantastic and the people very friendly. People or bikers watching was fascinating especially at night. Close to everything. We walked to all of the attractions War museum, independence palace, shopping centres, city mall, post office, opera house (out front) everywhere. Hop on Hop off bus is out front. The not so great: On both evenings of the weekend their were weddings. BIG weddings. The hotel gave us free cocktail voucher (1 each) or a full day & night of noise. Bad drunk Karaoke is not worth 1 cocktail. We had to empty our suitcase & remove the laundry bag we were using for our dirty clothes before we could leave the hotel. I know we should not have removed, but just picked it up without thinking and placed in the suitcase. There was no option to pay for it, we had to give it back. In the foyer.

I really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is located in the center of District 1 and was easy to go everywhere. The hotel staffs were very friendly and kind. It was good that they can communicate in English! The room was spacious enough for 2 persons and very clean. One thing I didn't like is that they missed turn down services once. F&B was also amazing. Their food was great.

Stayed for 3 nights. Location wise, it's pretty good as it's just a couple minutes walk from some of the bigger malls. Convenience store opposite the road and some nice restaurants just outside. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated but some visible wear and tear (e.g. floor boards). The bathtub in the room felt a little brittle creaking as you step on it. Because it isn't sealed to the wall, the floor gets pretty wet after a shower. The jacuzzi pool didn't look the cleanest and the chemicals in the water caused me to tear quite badly. Breakfast has a decent spread and staff overall pretty friendly! Will consider staying again!

The hotel is located in the downtown business district, which Japanese people like very much.
