Happy Life Grand Hotel & Sky Bar

Ho Chi Minh City|2.31km from onbet88
Booked this particular hotel as I wanted a pool. Although a little overpriced. Went to the skybar for a drink, no menus on table, was shown drinks menu in a electronic tablet, ordered a small tiger beer. Thought it was 50k, ordered another 1ltr tiger draught 250k, again overpriced, but thought would be easier. When asked for the bill was given total of 542,850! They charged 120 and 350k for the drinks, AND tax on top of that! Queried and argued with manager who agreed to give me 20% ”discount”. Paid in disgust, to sort out with hotel manager in morning. Aircon in room not cool at night. Called to have it looked at nothing they could do. They put up a sign on lift in the morning advising pool cannot be used until the following day due to a wedding! Had they told me yesterday pool was unavailable I would not have checked in!!!! Spent 2 hours with asst manager and telephoning manager, asking for a refund or extended checkout. Would not provide. Eventually agreed to extended checkout after a few hours. This hotel/bar falsely advertises facilities, could have advised pool not available, then STEALS from guests by advertising a price and charging something completely different. I have not experienced anything like this in any other hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the world. Ohh and today was advised doing lift maintenance, will be 30 mins, 4 hours later no lift, had to walk with luggage from 6th floor. No hotel staff assistance. Eventually got correct change from drinks money stolen AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The hotel looks big and grand, but the interior of the room is not good because the facilities are too aging. The windows are also very small. The shower booth is also aging. For the ciram who prefers clean rooms Recommended and not 10 The room is 20 square meters, but the room is very small and about 15 square meters

Everything is good, except neighbors 😞🤷It was very noisy. Music played all night. The neighbors sang karaoke until 5 a.m.

We absolutely loved our stay at this little guesthouse. I am a Mum travelling alone with two teenagers & I needed somewhere clean, safe & quiet so I chose District 4 for this reason. The rooms are very clean & the hospitality is just amazing, we arrived in the late afternoon & were warmly welcomed by Eric. He & all of the staff really went out of their way to assist us with every single little detail of our stay - including booking a tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels, talking to us about other attractions to see, where to eat, local dishes to taste & arranging baggage storage & transportation to a sister hotel closer to the airport on our last day so we didn’t have to double back later for our luggage. It is only a short cab ride away from all the attractions, but you can come back to a nice peaceful street at the end of the day. It is in a residential area so you don’t hear lots of traffic or other noise late at night & feel safe walking back after dinner. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, plus a supermarket & ATMs.

Booked a ‘Deluxe Room with balcony view of city’ ended up with a standard double room with a few of the main reception entrance area. I don’t mind the room but it would have been nice to of been informed if the ‘Deluxe’ was no longer an option (as this was booked back in September 22) and for £76!! We spoke to the lady and she was very offering and ‘exchanged’ our room to the ‘Deluxe’, as if she was doing us a favour. The Deluxe is still the same only slightly bigger and with a ‘balcony’, I say balcony as it literally isn’t big enough to fit a chair out there and the door reaches the railing once open. Location isn’t all that bad, although we arrived during the evening but from looks of when our driver was dropping us off it looked nice. Don’t think I recommend.

Koh Trinh is a wonderful guy. The best person I met in Saigon. He helped us with a short stay before we checked into his hotel and was very prompt in responding to our requirements. The Aparthotel is located in a modern apartment complex with most modern amenities and high level of security. Many Aparthotel operators have hired rooms and are selling these as room stays under different brandnames. One of these is Saigon Authentic Apartments. Koh's great hospitality is praiseworthy. The room itself is thoughtfully furnished, and has all the wherewithal to make for a comfortable stay. Ideal for couples who want really good value for money. Located within walking distance of city centre and main market this is a home away from home. Strongly recommended. Thank you Koh for your wonderful hospitality

Nice budget hotel. Big room and equipped with sofa, fridge, TV with digital HD channels and a microwave oven. One thing that should be addressed is that Wifi is a bit unstable inside guest room.
