I stayed at this hotel in early May, and the experience was far from satisfactory. **Onsen Experience:** The onsen features three baths, all at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, which is suitable for beginners. The sauna, however, only reached 50 degrees, lacking intensity. Still the Onsen were good with nice atmosphere. **Room Quality:** Our initial room was next to an elevator, even though we asked for the opposite and had a strong smell of smoke. Upon requesting a room change, we were relocated to a lower floor room that was outdated. The odor from the old carpet was pervasive, and despite using deodorant spray and keeping the window open for two days, it remained a discomfort. **Breakfast Incident:** Unfortunately, we also encountered a rather unpleasant situation during breakfast. We had booked the meal, which was not inexpensive, and arrived at the buffet before 9:30 and thought that the buffet closes at 10:00 AM and we still can eat but not take something from buffet, as is customary in other hotels. However, at exactly 10:00, the restaurant staff insisted we leave, abruptly telling us that the restaurant was closed. We had to abandon our food and drinks that we just took 9:50 and exit the restaurant. This was particularly frustrating, as they had seen us taking food earlier and never mentioned that we couldn’t finish our meal. There was no flexibility to allow us even an extra 10 minutes to eat. **Overall Impression:** The service was not customer-oriented, and the overall experience did not justify the price of €250 per night. Also, unfortunately we experienced a view negative situations and given the combination of issues, I personally would stay in this hotel again nor can I recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay.

Hotel experience was mixed. Positive: the hotel site has a lot of history, the Japanese garden was beautiful and the best part of the hotel. The included meals were good but not spectacular - yet the setting with a view of the Japanese garden was beautiful Negative: the facility was dated with little catch up updares. Only one lock key can be provided n made my wife n my visit to the Onsen very inconvenient as we had to wait for each other all times. The outdoor access for men Onsen had to go thru a common area for men n women so need to re-clothe to get thru, not great. Facility for the Onsen bath were dated n worn out. The in room lighting was dim n equipment facility visibly outdated. The worst was I discovered a big size cockcroach in the bathroom when I got back from Onsen bath in the morning. Smashed it n picture enclosed. We had high expectations coming in to the hotels with strong recommendations by Japanese friends. Was quite underwhelmed. I had stayed at other well rated Ryokans before n most have met or exceeded my expectation. This one fell far short of it.

There is a shuttle bus from Hakone Yumoto Station to the hotel. You can book it at the bus information center. There is a Chinese service lady there, very enthusiastic! We took a taxi because we wanted to get to the hotel early, 300 Yen, and called a shuttle bus back to the hotel the next day, which was very convenient! The hotel was unexpectedly good, and we decisively upgraded the balcony room with private bath, which was so cozy! Breakfast and dinner are very appetizing, light but extremely delicious. Open your taste buds completely, savor carefully, and slowly savor the original taste of the food. Paired with a glass of apple beer, it's so comfortable. There is a private bath on the top floor. It is recommended to go if the weather is good. Hakone at night is light and the stars in the sky are blinking, and the body and mind are completely relaxed. The hotel staff are very professional, especially the restaurant service staff. After staying for two days, the same person was arranged to follow and provide services. I originally thought of going again during the cherry blossom season, but it seems that all the rooms with private baths are booked. A hotel worth a second visit!

I was quite worried before my visit, having seen many mixed reviews online. However, I decided to stick with this hotel, primarily due to its excellent location very close to Yumoto Station, which makes getting around incredibly convenient. Upon arrival, I personally found it to be excellent. First off, the room was very spacious. Although the amenities were a bit dated (still using traditional button switches instead of a modern key card system), the vintage charm of this traditional Japanese-style room was actually quite nice. Secondly, staying in a room with a private outdoor onsen at the foot of the mountain during summer, I was delighted to find no mosquitoes. I only spotted one unidentified bug on the day I checked in, and never saw another insect afterwards. What's more, the onsen water was continuously circulating, so the surface was always clean with no debris. Enjoying a hot spring bath at night while stargazing was truly blissful. The breakfast and dinner portions initially looked small, served as individual dishes, but by the end, I was completely stuffed and couldn't finish it all! (𖦹.𖦹) Finally, the overall service was impeccable, from the check-in process at the front desk to the staff attending to us during breakfast and dinner.

This ryokan is perfect for people who want to experience ryokan for the first time but want something cheaper within Hakone area. Situated on the main road with buses to Owakudani and train to Odawara. I'd recommend catching the bus from Odawara to this ryokan since the walking trail from the closest station to this place is hilly and has lots of stairs. Main road is not very luggage friendly so pack very light when you're staying here. This place has very nice rooms with view to the river behind it. The view is spectacular when the entire river area is covered in red autumn leaves. Dinner and breakfast are very delicious, you will be served a range of traditional food from a la carte to dessert. You can also book your private indoor onsen FOR FREE. The ryokan also has an open outdoor onsen across the bridge for 3000 JPY. The only downside of this place is the main road is very busy as it's the only way for people to drive from Odawara to Owakudani. So local people take this road to get to Owakudani. Buses from this place will not stop at there in the weekend. Your best plan is to go to Lake Ashi first and take the opposite route to Owakudani instead. Plan your trip in this area very carefully because a bus trip that would take 10-15 minutes will end up taking you 1 to 1.5 hours.

Absolutely love this place! The staff are very friendly, and the onsen is clean and well-maintained. There are 3 outdoor pools and 2 indoor pools, along with a steam room and sauna, which make for a relaxing experience. The facility is open for both day trips and overnight stays, but staying overnight is much better for a more chill and leisurely time. There’s a massage chair available, but it requires payment. Breakfast is also delicious and definitely worth it. The only downside is the location—it’s not very convenient and requires some walking. If you’re traveling light, it’s manageable. They do have a payable shuttle bus, but the timing isn’t great. Walking can be pleasant if the weather’s nice, or you can opt for a taxi. Overall, I’ll definitely book this place again for the relaxing atmosphere!

A very satisfying hot spring trip. The hotel is 1.7 km from Hakone Yumoto Station. It is recommended to take a taxi (starting at 600 yan, about 1000 yan to the hotel) for a 10-minute drive. You can also take a bus from Hakone Yumoto Station (200 yan for adults, 100 for children, free for children under 4 years old). The hotel is relatively large and is on the mountain. The breakfast is a buffet, and dinner is served in the room. There is a special butler. The service is very good. It is a good choice for families with children.

It was my first time staying at the ryokan, and I was very satisfied as I expected. The staff were friendly and the meal was very good. There is also an outdoor open-air bath, but it was a little burdensome because it was called a male and female mixed bath ... ㅎㅎ And I can use a private open-air bath for 30 minutes, but I was sorry that I couldn't use it by mistake. The facilities were not bad for personally old. However, it was difficult because the location had to climb a lot of hills, and it was a pity that I had to struggle to get to a convenience store. On the day of check-out, I was able to take the shuttle bus to Hakone Yumoto Station, which was very convenient. Overall, I think it was a satisfying experience.

I stayed there with my boyfriend and it was very nice. When I first looked at the images, I thought the bathroom was made of glass...? That's what I thought, but I was able to hide it with the curtains so it didn't bother me. It was comfortable, not too big and not too small. I really liked the smell of the amenity set.

Very nice hotel, both the public bath and the private bath are very beautiful, and the dinner and breakfast are exquisite and delicious. The hotel service is also very thoughtful. Our room comes with a small bath, and you can take a private bath on the balcony, which is very comfortable. There are free drinks in the room. The hotel's shampoo is very useful. I bought a bottle for my own use. There is also a small cable car in the hotel, which is very interesting. This hotel is close to Hakone Yumoto Station. If you go there, you can consider it. The hotel can send you to the station, which is very thoughtful.
